  1. forgive me, but what "exactly" did you change? it looks very similar, apart from the spinning neck - surely that's not the only mod you've done, I can't work out the rest
  2. mediumsnowman - no matter what you do/don't like, Doctor Who is the only "character" that can integrate with every single Lego theme, and it not look out of place kids are going to absolutely love it, especially if they're massive Doctor Who fans because that's the beauty of the show - the Tardis on a pirate ship? interesting new story! Tardis in the city?? again, interesting new story! (is that crane actually powered by an alien??) to get the most out of it, you've got to watch the series (it's available on Netflix now I believe, so try it and just go with it!! it's one of the longest running sci-fi shows in the world, so please try it out and if you honestly don't like it, you'll still love the set, but you'll "enjoy" the set more if you do watch the show!
  3. just look at 1:20 on the reveal video, it's clear it's a rendering error because the Clara legs are similar to the Spiderman legs with two separate colours
  4. it's a rendering error, just have a look at the Youtube video to see the Clara figure properly :)
  5. they look ok, but I expected some more "realism" compared to the other Superheroes figures - these look (and I hate to say it) but childish compared with the MCU figures
  6. how big will these sets be do you think? the whole point of Angry Birds level design is destructible scenery to smash the pigs, and the point of Lego is to build/connect parts to each other, so will we get one or two play functions in each set, or will the "levels" involve us building sets of little brick-built "pieces" (i.e. lots of timber frames/platforms) with SNOT techniques and balancing them on each other? the only way I can see Lego melding the two concepts is perhaps using a load of Technic parts to make a scene which can be built as a "stable" piece, and flying the birds will involve lever actions to destroy it all etc?
  7. I have one question.... why do people expect the reveal to take place at an event in the US, when the "home" of Doctor Who is Britain? why would Lego make the effort to reveal a Doctor Who Lego set in any country outside of the UK? also.... given that this is a BBC-licenced set, presumably any reveal would have to be agreed with the BBC and they may be able to organise a "cool" reveal, involving perhaps Capaldi and/or Matt Smith?
  8. I fully expect that too, but is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that people will literally spend $30/40 for a set like the Dr Who Dimensions set, and then put the minifigs on eBay starting at $5? do they hope that the bidding frenzy will tip it over the point where you make profit? same thing with the larger sets, why spend $80/90 on a large set, then put the minifigs on eBay for a handful of dollars and be left with a bunch of bricks?? to me it's just stupid
  9. the 7787 debacle is where I think they lost the plot with the Batman franchise.... here's what could have been - http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/r00t3d/2007-Sets/bat001.jpg and what did we get? a gate!! A GATE!!!! the Riddler's hideout is still in hiding!!!
  10. considering the price for the Avengers Tower is £59.99 (same in USD) for "just" a blue phone box, and some figures (which is what I think most people expected?) that's a MASSIVE mark-up if the image is genuine however if the set is something like the phone box, an interior including console and some figures - maybe you're looking at something closer to the £59.99 price? intrigued as to what they're looking to make now..... I doubt it's going to be the Dalek fleet or anything, but a graveyard containing the Weeping Angels could be cool!
  11. I agree, but I thought there were strict rules around Ideas sets - no "new" moulds could be used for Ideas sets? either Lego decide to do away with that principle for Doctor Who, assuming they see the potential value with a lengthy product run/series, so we may see the iconic screwdriver and/or Cybermen heads similar to the one created for the Dimensions set? however if they decide not to release the screwdriver with the Ideas set, and opt for a lightsabre handle with a coloured stud on the top instead, does that mean AFOLs will be buying the Dimensions sets purely for the figures/parts, and not for the purpose of the set?
  12. its in the Lego store in Shep Bush Westfield if you're interested
