  1. Can I still join your guild? This group of individuals recently met just before they entered Kaliphlin, where they would like to stay and offer their services.
  2. Thanks for all your comments. I'm glad you like what took me almost a year to build (I kept running out of bricks). I have no clue what the weight is. And besides the floors of the main tower and the gatehouse it is not modular, so putting it on a the scales is no option.
  3. Greetings to you all. I'd like to share with you my second castle-MOC, a replica of Teylingen (in the Netherlands), which nowadays is a ruin. I wanted to create it how it once could have looked. For those of you who are interested in the real thing have a look here: Teylingen If you visit the ruin you can see a maquette how the main building once probably looked. Some pictures of the outside: The trickiest part was the curved roof, here is my final solution: Since I like to create a total picture, I also created some scenes inside. Inside the gatehouse: Inside the main building (starting at the top and going down): All photo's and a few extra can also be seen at Flickr Thanks for watching and all comments/suggestions are welcome. Regards, Fonzy
  4. WOW, this is absolutely amazing. I really like the arches in the towers, the waterfall, the sheep, the rabbits and so many other little details. Looking forward to see the village in front.
  5. Welcome back from the dark-ages. You have a nice collection, which will make it possible to add a lot of details to your MOC's (makes me jealous).
  6. Very close to the TV-series. Great casting of the minifigs. Looking foreward to more scenes.
  7. Very impressive. Everything seems just right, the colors, the people. WOW.
  8. Thanks for the review. Your photo's show lots of details of the bricks. Many I could use in future MOC's. I will surely get this set (someday).
  9. First of all thanks for all your feedback / suggestions. About the "big-grey-wall-syndrome", it was even worse when I just started it. The 2 shades of light gray and the dark corner stones improved it a little, but maybe not enough. I suppose I don't have the experience (yet) to find the right balance between "not enough" and "overdone". Indeed the white windows look kind a modern. On the few pictures available of the real castle they also look white, but I never realized they could be of a later period than the medieval period in which I tried to place the castle. Something to keep in mind for future MOC's. For those of you who are interested in the real thing, see: http://www.monikie.org.uk/affcastl.htm Measurements are: - base plates add up to: 64 by 48 studs - castle base: 42 by 37 studs - height: 57 bricks (which is 55 cm or 22 inch)
  10. My first MOC is finally finished. I tried to build a replica off Affleck castle (Scotland). Within it I tried to capture some of the castle magic like thick walls, stairs within the walls, rooms inside the walls and windows with seats in it. Some other pictures of the outside. outside 1 outside 2 The top floor from above. top floor Inside the castle (with the minifigs living in it). inside Window on the ground floor. Another window (on the 1st floor). windows 1st floor Two pictures how the castle would look like if the roof tiles would have been reused for the surrounding buildings. And over the years all wood has rotten away. ruin 1 ruin 2 All feedback is welcome, so I can improve my future MOC's
