Because the V8 is part of the functions and the seat is not?

No worries. It's just a small detail. Other than that the car is honestly awesome. I wish there are more teal coloured Lego parts as I am interested in doing the record breaking Mercedes AMG Petronas

So I wanted to add remote control to this model, while keeping all the functions and with minimal modification. This means I want to keep the V8 engine (which usually is the first thing that people would take out to install a motor or two). (Click on the pics for full res) So what I did was I stuck a PF L motor at the back. It directly connects to the rear differential. Took me hours to clear up the rear and make sure the rear engine cover would not be hindered by the motor when it opens This also means that the engine was really far at the rear, and I have to use a 50cm extention wire to make sure the receiver can be close to the motor and servo I also added a switch for the PF M motor that opens and closes both the doors and the rear engine cover Engine bay opened. The motor barely clears everything. By this time I'm also too lazy to clear up the wire mess Installing the servo was straightforward. Took out the angled gear and the seat and just plonked it in there I'll post a youtube video later.

My only gripe would be that the rear wing should stall when you're using the faster gear, IE, it should have leveled off instead of coming down at an angle. TL;DR the rear wing is opposite of what it should be doing

for all content and purposes, Lego is targeted for kids and teenagers, and rack and pinions is a good way to get a working steering that is reliable and easy. And I don't see it changing any time soon.

really awesome! I love the wide V8 and the shark fin is as accurate as you can get My only complaint would be the steering at the middle, as LMP1 has steering on the right (Audi, Porche) or left (Toyota).

Le Mans Prototype cars usually have the steering to one side, majority of them on the right. So the original design was kind of correct
