Waited in line at the Lego Store this morning here in Belgium. In addition to the GWP, I also received a poster which has the three sets released thus far on it (Rivendell, Barad Dur and Shire). I don’t know if I’m reading to much into this or if this is another sign that the Lego Icons LotR line will come to an end with this third release. What do you guys make of this, if anything?

I completely agree that the dwarves from The Hobbit would make fantastic additions to the minifigure lineup. However, what excites me even more is the potential for a minifigure of the grumpy hobbit that gives dirty looks at Gandalf.

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

We’re pretty much guaranteed a Sail Barge reveal any day now, right? Right? -
Yikes! Knowing how tall the Orthanc set is, that’s going to be huge! I don’t know if it will be much taller tho. I suspect the base will be a bit wider so some of the additional budget would probably go to that.
-
That's true. It would look a bit weird if he was as tall as a regular minifigure. In my opinion the long legs would look a bit weird (although that's probably because my imagination doesn't stretch that far), but with an extended torso it could work. I'm sure whatever they come up with will look great!
-
I think the Avatar legs would look pretty silly on a figure like Sauron. In my opinion it only works on characters that are supposed to be lanky, like Woody from Toy Story. Another character that I would love to see but haven’t seen brought up yet, is the Witch King! Sure other sets would be a better fit (especially Minas Tirith), but it would work!
-
I read that there would be multiple figures included in the Barad Dur set! I’m personally hoping for Frodo and Sam in their Mordor outfits (perhaps their orc disguises), Gollum and some unique orcs!

LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Have you guys noticed this figure in a new Lego campaign? He seems to have a piece that could be quite handy for a certain species… -
I’d love nothing more than that Eye of Sauron set. So I’m hoping that the leaked set becomes reality! I do however agree that I would like to see smaller sets as well. Collecting Lego has always been an expensive hobby but the increased focus on 200+ euro sets is really making it impossible for me. I always preferred the 50-120 euro sets.

Doesn’t the Wendy from the Peter Pan set that was just revealed use that hairpiece as well? -

And nothing Jabba related… On another note, am I the only one that feels like we’re in need for a new Phantom Menace set. I love the attention The Clone Wars is getting, but unfortunatly it seems to be at the expense of other non-Clone related prequel sets. I do understand why Lego does not focus on The Phantom Menace though, it is not really that relevant in today’s Star Wars landscape compared to other media. -
Wait? Are we that certain that the DoD sets aren’t coming? I thought it was just a rumour.
-
I don’t think it does unfortunatly. There are six figures: Indy, Willie Scott, Short Round, Mola Ram, a temple guard and now apparently a cultist instead of earlier rumours saying it was the Maharadja. So I guess it will all be updates from the previous figures. Ah well, a cultist seems nice anyway!
-
One thing I noticed is that the last source listed a Thugee Cultist as one of the minifigures instead of the Maharadja (which was mentioned in earlier rumours).
-
The Avatar theme was launched with only four sets (except for the Brickheadz set).
-
That's probably the case! In my experience the sets based on KOTCS sell for less money on the aftermarket as well (which does indicate the demand for them). I just saw a post by a user named 'exabrickslegogo_' on Instagram saying that the set should be 169,99 dollars instead of 149,99 dollars.
-
That actually kind of disappoints me. I do understand why they decided to skip it though and it would have been rather weird if the most expensive set of the wave was based on the least beloved movie. P.s. I grew up with the fourth movie and actually quite like it!

Really happy to get a glimse of the series! Is it just me or do Miss Piggy's arms look weird? -

Oh well, I didn't expect it to be based on the Raimi trilogy but it's still unfortunate to have confirmation. -

90 euros for a set with only 527 pieces is indeed greatly overpriced! Hopefully there will be some huge discounts like there were with the Infinity War wave! -

I'd say chances are pretty slim but I guess it's not impossible. -

Well, I must say I do believe a Raimi set isn't likely but I don't think your 'sony'-argument is very relevant. For one, it's not because Lego hasn't produced any Sony sets, that they never will Take the Stranger Things D2C for example, as far is I know there weren't any Netflix sets before that. As far as your CW argument goes, I don't think it is relevant. I do believe Lego chose not to make sets for these shows for completely different reasons than the fact that they were produced by CW. -

The homecoming and Far From Home sets would like to disagree with you, also the Electro polybag from TASM2 and the Amazing Spider-Man Comic Con figure. Also the original Spider-Man wave from 2002-2004. -

I fear you're right actually! In terms of Marvel there are many things that are more relevant today. However, I wouldn't pass on a Sam Raimi Daily Bugle!
