  1. Hahahahahaa, it literally happened to me when I saw that pic. TMNT was one of my favourite shows when I was a kid. I caught a bit of the 2003 rehash as well in my teens which was not too bad. Megab***s used to do TMNT at that time, but they were garbage as expected. I'm sure Lego will do a better job :) I also hope that classic TMNT characters like Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey and Baxter Stockman (Fly version) appear somewhere down the line. Yeah bring on Baxter Stockman,
  2. What Dark Knight Rises wave? I thought that we are quite sure that we won't be getting one.
  3. 7 reasons to ditch Australia and make the United States of America your new home
  4. Will this promo be available only in the US? Damn the Lego group if it is. I'm leaving the US on the 8th of May, a week before the promo starts I must say, USA is a lego heaven.
  5. Well, that explains it. The HR poster (thanks GRogall, I don't know how you are always the first to come up with HR images) has got me super excited for the sets.It would have been nice if they slipped in a hair piece for iron man in the sets. Anyway it's not much of an issue, as that hairpiece is fairly common.
  6. Yes, why did they get rid of Iron Man's helmet from the poster? Were Lego embarrassed by the sheer size of it?
  7. In Australia those are the normal prices we pay for new games. So nothing is really overpriced.
  8. Arrggh, they left out Nick Fury. I can't believe this. The biggest three Avengers sets have too many minifigures in common. What can you do with three Loki's? and the aliens don't look as nice as I thought they would be.
  9. What makes you think the quality of the bricks will be poor? It's very likely that some of the detailed parts will be made in China and we'll possibly get hybrid minifigures like those in the Super Heroes line. But personally I don't mind this if it means better designed minifigures and cheaper prices for consumers. In Australia Helm's Deep may possibly be way more than 175-180 USD. I saw somewhere that it'll be 220 Australian dollars which converts to about 240 US dollars. So you are not getting it as bad as us.
  10. Yes, that's definitely a reason. I feel that the modular line has lost the wow factor, as we've been treated with many well detailed buildings since CC came out. But it is still one of my favourite lines and I hope we'll be getting many more. As far as Town Hall is concerned I think it would have been more appealing if the set was not so similar in design to FB. I'll still be buying it though. The piece count and the prospect of extending the modular street (even though I have no room left for another building) is what is drawing me to the set at the moment.
  11. Wow they look amazing together. Market Street is missing though, but some don't consider it as part of the line. I'm not that keen on Town Hall as a stand alone building, it didn't take my breath away like CC or GG, but I'll have to buy it to keep the street going
  12. I'm surprised that Saruman is absent from the first wave of LOTR sets. I was expecting to see him in Orc Forge, but no, Saruman has been left out. I suppose I'll have to make a custom Saruman using Count Dooku's head. After all the same actor plays both parts
  13. Yeah, I agree, my guess was probably wrong.. Fury may be in the Quinjet and we'll get some sort of villain in Captain America's Avenging Cycle, probably Red Skull, but he wasn't mentioned in the official press release so may be he is the figure that Marvel are keen to keep a lid on. I'm putting all my money on Red Skull being the villain in the captain America set.
  14. The unnamed secret minifigure that Marvel did not want to reveal in Captain America's Avenging cycle must be Nick Fury since we know he is coming out and since he wasn't in any other set. Not much of a secret after all.
  15. Wow, great entry, love the joker minifigure and the batpod. So many great entries everyday for the contest. So many deserving winners. Good luck!
  16. The finalised versions of the sets look lovely. Thanks Willybob again for getting us images. I'm counting on you to be the first to get us preliminary pics of the Marvel ones. I'm also liking the Hulk figure. Hopefully Iron man and Captain America will also be vastly improved from what was displayed at comic con.
  17. That two face is not bad at all. I'm glad that we are getting re-designed figures. Otherwise the old ones will fall in value. How did someone get their hands on it when the sets haven't been officially released? We don't even have non-preliminary images for the set and then the figure just pops up on ebay from nowhere. Someone is swindling bricks from the Lego company and I can assure you it wasn't me Hopefully we will see more in the coming days.
  18. Yep, that hat will be great on riddler, he really needs a hat this time round. I'm pretty sure it'll last longer than POTC and POP. The official press release mentioned that it was a multi-year agreement so I'm hoping for at least 5 years of sets. Here are the relevant sections from the press releases DC The multi-year licensing agreement grants the LEGO Group access to the entire library of DC Comics characters and stories to inspire LEGO building fun. MARVEL Two of the world's most iconic brands are joining forces as The LEGO Group, world leader in high quality construction toys, and Marvel Entertainment, LLC, a global character -based entertainment company, announced a wide ranging strategic licensing deal. Through the multi-year agreement starting as of January 1st, 2012, Marvel has granted LEGO Group the rights to develop a distinct Marvel branded construction toy collection -- LEGO SUPER HEROES -- which will bring the characters, vehicles and action of Marvel's renowned universe to the world of LEGO® build-and-play adventure. That gives LEGO over 70 years of comic book material to draw from. The theme should last for a very long time, but the longevity of the theme will ultimately depend on how profitable the theme is.
  19. 6866 and 6867 should be the same price. In Australia they are both priced at $50 (from the Hobbyco website) so I'm assuming that they will both be $25 in the US as US prices are roughly half the Australian price in most cases.
  20. Battle packs will be nice. That worked well for Star Wars, but I don't see much army building potential in the DC or Marvel universe. What I would like to see are Superheroes exclusives similar to Diagon Alley. I'm hoping that we'll get an X-mansion in 2013 with around 6 X-men and 4 characters from the brotherhood of evil mutants . I know it's a distant dream, but we got Diagon Alley and the Death Star. Those were distant dreams too once upon a time.
  21. hand me your bricks

  22. Those prices seem to be in line with the US and Australian prices we saw before. Interesting that the Marvel ones are up for pre-order already.
  23. The Hobbit may appeal to kids. The Hobbit novel is a children's book as opposed to the LOTR trilogy which is geared towards adults. I remember reading the Hobbit when I was about 9 or 10, but had to wait till around age 15 to read the LOTR trilogy. I think there is a high possibility for LOTR sets next year based on a mix of the Hobbit movie and older LOTR movies, especially since there are no castle themed sets announced for next year yet.
  24. I agree, this set actually looks quite good now. I think the pros of this set are the minifigures, vehicles and the price. I'm a fan of the redesigned figures, better than getting more of the same. The downside is obviously the cartoony, <insert that tiresome argument> look of the Batcave itself.
  25. Bruce Wayne is still hiding.
