  1. That's true, and generally I've been holding off on Lego Marvel unless I do see a set that I do like. That said, I will probably buy sets I don't like or want if they do go on sale, i.e. Venomized Wolverine, Temu Daily Bugle for Venomized Captain America and Rhino, etc. I just wish it wasn't that way, and we would see Lego Marvel sets on the quality and design level of LotR and Zelda.
  2. If you dislike prints because you cant "reuse" the piece. Then you lack basic engineering and design thought process to simply invert the printed piece or hide it within the build so its a non-issue.
  3. It's too late and costly to switch over to a new theme, once you're in deep you can't get out that easily.
  4. A Lego room is not a sustainable solution. It's a bandaid, eventually you will run out of room and be right back at the same problem.
  5. I'm excited to see Lego lose a ton of money on R&D, production, etc. from Smartbricks... that said, they will probably charge higher prices across all LEGO lines to recoup the cost.
  6. Agreed, focus groups significantly jacks up the price and set budget. See any 4+ set that is essentially extortion on young parents. Common sense from the designer is less restrictive and most important cheaper. This is unpopular opinions, not illogical opinions.
  7. I regret going all-in on Marvel Lego, LOTR is just more classy and sygnergizes really well with both Zelda or Medieval. Ninjago is overall way more creative and innovative as well. That said I don't regret dropping Starwars or never getting into Harry Potter. We need more quality Marvel sets, tbh I havent really enjoyed any recent Marvel sets since Daily Bugle, Sanctum or the Quinjet, there are some outliers here and there like the Subway scene but otherwise the mini-modulars and playsets are overpriced trash.
  8. Is the subway set considered an epic moment set? If so more of those please.
  9. I never been so frustrated with a set, specifically the recent Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock Subway set. The problem (apart from the price) was that Spiderman kept popping off the train due to the slight tension from the webstrings and more importantly the lack of clutch power on this piece (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4304&idColor=86#T=S&C=86&O={"color":86,"cond":"N","rpp":"500","iconly":0}). I got so frustrated I was thinking of doing a slight redesign, but thankfully i tried the simple solution first which was to use an older part. This solved all my problems, Spider-Man never pops off and I can even alter the webstrings into positions which creates even more tension! So to me this is a massive QC problem, and over time older/used pieces that are identical will be more valuable than pieces from the newest sets due to better tolerances and QC. Another piece with really bad clutch power was this one as well and it's fairly new piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=65578&idColor=12#T=S&C=12&O={"color":12,"cond":"N","rpp":"500","iconly":0}
  10. Honestly, Megablocks did a really good job in designing their Pokemon sets. I don't see LEGO surpassing let alone meeting MEGABLOKS in terms of design quality. Also Lego is going to be significantly more expensive than Megabloks.
  11. Took a fairly long hiatus from Lego, and honestly it was really healthy for my mental health. Amazon Black Friday deals caused me to relapse, and now I'm buying sets that I want but don't have the room to display/store. Lego is an incurable addiction/disease, also doesn't help that prices are have skyrocketed and price per piece has doubled if not tripled in some cases .
  12. I found F4 to be super overrated as a movie, I honestly regret spending the money to watch in theatres. Felt like a generic and formulaic movie written by AI. The only good part of the movie was the space flight scenes that reminded me of Interstellar. I found the movie to be so mid that it completely killed any hype I had for any of the overpriced F4 lego sets. I would rather spend on the overpriced Spiderverse sets tbh.
  13. Man Jean looking really basic. Coping hard that she'll be in the next CMF. We need a dedicated X-Men CMF, I don't care for any of the filler characters like Kate, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Echo, Mr. Knight, etc. Last CMF had too much filler.
  14. 100% agree with this, competition can only improve the product, encourage innovation, and ultimately be better for us consumers. It's why every country has anti-trust laws.
  15. Get the X-Jet instead... both are ridiculously overpriced, but the X-Jet is actually really well designed and way more iconic.
