Exactly, leave him alone. He got courage and the will to do good. That is all that matters.

Rested and sligthly intoxicated from mulled wine Ezeran sees Torald scribbling down his name on the board. Ezeran goes over to the barbarian and signs up for quest 151

Ezeran smiles at the young knight. "Sometimes there are more ends than means and then you have to do what you can to be true to your goals."

LEGO VIP program questions for you!
MysticModulus replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1) I got my membership online in 2014. I use my membership almost only online since Swedens only official lego-store isn't located very near to me. I mainly participate in events such as the yearly Star Wars-event in may and most often to buy exclusive sets. 2) The range of exclusive sets are of course almost exclusively available at lego.com but the system of VIP-points (and the bonuses given sometimes) are of course of interest. The events that provide limited free sets are of course a big part of the VIP-experience. For example: the free Christmas-sets were above expectation when it comes to added value (the gingerbread house was awesome). 3) From an online perspective: not that much actually. 4) A Lego Ideas-concenpt regarding free sets would be interesting: so that the fan community can get their ideas to become free small limited sets. A wider range of micro-scale sets would be cool as well, when looking at the sets exclusively released for i.e. Comic Con these always stand out like cool kind of sets that could be produced and sold at reasonable prices? 5) The service is excellent as it is. I've never had problems while communicating with TLG! I only have a minor concern that involves a third party: I almost never get the tracking-id of my parcels to work when I order from Lego.com to Sweden. That's a bit irritating but since the parcels is delivered it's not a major concern. -
Ezeran takes his time walking around the marketplace looking at different things. Ezeran buys two grand tonics (60 gold), 5 potions (25 gold) and two nostrum (70 gold) Ezeran goes to Anwyl and sells his Longsword (WP 3) for 15 gold. He then lets Anwyl upgrade his Trickster's baubel from WP 5 to WP 6 for 60 gold. He then goes to Fabian and sells his Schakles of war for 10 gold then he merges one of his rubies into the flesh of the symbiont making him immune to fire (50 gold). Ezeran then hands over Sylvania's Cowl (Grants "Animal Talk", Headwear) to Fabian asking: "Can I sell this to you for 25 gold or what seems reasonable to you?" Conclusion: Ezeran had 240 gold which leaves him with: 240 - (60 + 25 + 70 + 50 +60) + (10+15) = 0 gold left.

Interesting feedback, I have been careful not to let the symbiont take over Ezerans character to much. I do have a plan for it, but I don't want Ezeran to be just the "wizard with the symbiont" at this point. It do influence his character quiet a lot it just don't show (or sometimes it does but the thing is the reader won't always be able to see it).

Ezeran drains his glass of mulled wine and heads out of the hall to do some errands.
-
Ezeran picks up the cowl and raises his glass with mulled wine towards the heavens. "May the realms be good to you!"
-
That would be very interesting! Don't feel that you have to raise the bar though! And don't put to much pressure on yourself!

I've read through the thread for #149 again and it really stands out as a coherent quest with many qualities. You spoiled us rotten WBD, well done!
-
Ezeran parts with the dagger and takes the 40 gold and the longsword You are welcome, I hope it will serve you well.
-
"Deal!" Ezeran puts the ebony dagger on the table
-
"How about 50 gold?"
-
One more thing: the rewards and loot was balanced and moderate, as it should be in my humble opinion. Now I can postpone the though decision of choosing an advanced job class for Ezeran as well.

You were truly courageous, it takes guts to stand up for your beliefs. I believe its hard to make everyone in a conflict happy, maybe the outcome was for the better but we were so close in catching them... Oh well, lets rejoice in the fact that we're all here in good health and company! Cheers Ezeran lifted his glass towards the others.

149! Wow! This quest was nothing short of truly amazing! Let's start with the general atmosphere: a creeping surrealistic and eerie atmopshere seemingly influenced by Alice in Wonderland, the Wizard from Oz and something vaguely Poe:ish. I don't know exactly how that atmosphere was established or maintained but it worked wonders (which as pointed out above is amazing considering the party slugged their way through a glass-ware assembly). Hat off for that WBD! The NPC's were great. They were responding in a realistic manner and they were not to far out. I love the slightly arrogant doctor, the love-sick golems and of course the (in Ezerans mind) sneaky villains: Marco and his trusted pet djinn. They played their roles well without being to cartoonish. When it comes to the story, well it was pretty straight forward with a good balance between player freedom and hints. Ezerans misgivings towards the Ziegfrieds was spot on from the start (hence his conclusive analysis: "Can it have been infested?") but it didn't matter because many surprises awaited the party. The side quest with the golems were a big distraction from the objective if you ask Ezeran but objectively it had its merits. The situation where the party acted like impromptu-musicians was hysterical. I actually laughed out when I re-read it. The end was excellent, it could as well be a perfect cliffhanger but it gave the story some depth as the heroes actually failed regarding the mission from the clients. The last battle and the actions and dialogue almost seemed scripted, it was that good! The pacing was almost perfect, probably because of the frequent activity of all involved! And alas the party. What a party! Torald - Being almost a dynamic duo by now Ezeran and Torald continues their friendship but I agree with WBD:s analysis: for them to take the next step there have to be some kind of disagreement or even a mild conflict. I love the way that Torald lends his character to narrate the fighting-sequences. I hope he will show a bigger palette of emotions in a near future so that he can develop even further. Petaldan - Even though Ezeran sometimes have a short temper he is not prone to holding grudges for long, which is good for Petaldan! I love the roleplaying of this character as he truly is displayed like a boy in shining armor about to save the world and do good deeds. Ezeran is a bit more complex when it comes to moral issues... The dialogue and disparate moral reflections really added much to their relation (and to the story as a whole). Keep up the good work Boy Wonder! Hunkan - I love the grumpiness and the sullen look of the dwarven rogue. He made a not to charming first impression with Ezeran in the hall and their relation kind of continued being a bit stale throughout the quest, and that's not a bad thing just a logical outcome of previous events! Hunkan did however redeem himself as he chose to stand against the Ziegfrieds in the final battle. Kid - While I like the quirkiness and the jokingly manner I hope that Kid gets some more depth since he could easily be cartoonish in those respects. That's probably just a matter of time as shown by his actions and speech in the final battle. Tim - Didn't know what to expect from this character, maybe a bit more flavour from the fact that he is a satyr and that is almost unheard of. I was very happy to get the opportunity to enhance certain character traits of Ezeran during this quest. I want him to be more than the mage with a demon symbiont and highlight his moral complexity and hint at his somewhat complex background. Maybe he would make an excellent minstrel? I just need to find the rep. for him! I'm really happy to have been a part of this excellent display of roleplaying at its best! Truly marvelous! Great work WBD and great work to all of you excellent roleplayers, I look forward to invest more time and energy in upcoming quests and in common banter in the hall. Cheers!

Ezeran sees Petaldan as he enters the hall. He steadies himself and calls upon the young knight. Let bygones be bygones or what do you say young master knight? Let me buy you a lemonade and then you could tell me all about them golems and ther romantic endeavors!
-
Ezeran motions for the dwarf to take a seat. Torald thought he had to sing later in the evening, did you se his face? On another subject, are you interested in buying my ebony dagger? Perfect weapon for a rogue like yourself, sharp and venomous!
-
I would also like to thank WBD for hosting #149! I had great fun and it gave Ezeran a good platform to evolve some parts of his character. I will also give a more full-lenght review later.
-
Thanks!
-
Seeing the joke hitting home Ezeran bursts out in laughter. Just kidding with you!
-
Ezeran smiles and takes a mouthfull of mulled wine. We have earned som rest! Maybe we'll do some singing later?
-
The door to the hall opens slowly. Ezeran walks over to the notice board and pins a small paper to it reading: "For sale: Ebony Scorpion Dagger (WP:5, deals Poisoned-by-3; dagger), contact Ezeran if interested." Ezeran then surveys the hall for a comfortable looking chair. The symbiont is wearing a ghostly smile, acid saliva dripping on the floor.

Heroica RPG - Quest #149: Cleaning Out the Pipes
MysticModulus replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Ezeran nods towards the doctor. "A pleasure, as always serving the guild." He then turns to Torald. "The next drink is on me old friend, let's meet up in the hall!" Ezeran gives the others a slight nod. The symbiont gnarls at Petaldan and Tim as Ezeran departs for the hall. -
Seems to work for me as well...
