  1. Even though he seemed calm the people around the table could probably detect a fiery red glint of demonic fire in the eyes of Ezeran. "She was masked and maybe she wasn't a woman but she sounded like it. Many of the cultists that were defeated had etheriumbased equipment on them like my pauldrons here. There is one thing that reassures me though, they are zealous in their hate of magic and users of magic and that blind hate will make them weak. I'm sure our organisation can withstand them if we prepare ourselves. But lets not make the same mistakes ourselves." Ezeran points at the group of people with the uncorteous Wakorian in the middle. "Even hate against realistic threats can blind you and if we act stupid enough, without courtesy, tact and empahty we will make the same mistakes as the Crimson Crown, and we will surely become as dangerous..."
  2. Ezeran draws a sad sigh when Zylstra is mentioned. He lets one of his arms drop so that the wolf could smell it. "It's a sad story. We were called upon by the imps because they had been accused of a murder of a gnomish woman. It was me, the boy knight Petaldan, Ellaria the alchemist, Hunkan the dwarf, Kid Reddson and some kind of pirate infused in a badly welded automata. After an investigation of the crime scene we could easily conclude that the imps were wrongly accused and likely framed by a third party. We later found a hidden mine where someone had been mining etherium." Ezeran shows his pauldrons, shimmering in the dim light of the hall the others around the table could see a tint coming from the embedded etherium. "Now this is nasty stuff in the wrong hands! It can easily block out magic and that was the true intention of the mine, an operation to mine enough etherium to block out entire cadres of mages or imps." Ezeran drank som more mulled wine before he continues. "A mysterious figure called 'the admiral' had served as an advisor to the gnomish mayor and she turned out to be a leader of the infamous 'Crimson Crown', an sect devoted to eradicate magic. We were ambushed by them and in the wake of the battle the cardinal fled and they set Zylstra on fire. Many gnomes and imps made it out of there but probably not all of them. One of the imps fighting beside us died and now it seems that Zylstra is place of ash and soot." Ezeran sighs again. "The cardinal will probably be back and I sure hope the houses will be prepared. Even though I don't care much for the Ziegfrieds they too must be careful in the future." The symbiont stirred in its sleep, probably dreaming a dream not understood by mortals.
  3. Afraid that his signature may have been placed in the wrong place Ezeran once again signs up for the Fields of Glory.
  4. Ezeran raises his glass of mulled wine in acknowledgment of the elfs announcment to come along to the fields of glory. Ezeran turned back to the others listening in on their conversation. "I've been to the fields once, we were not ready then but it was a good experience."
  5. "I haven't encountered these kind of automata that you speak of... These sure are troubled times..." Ezeran signs up for the fields of glory
  6. Ezeran greets Kiray with a nod. "We were just adressing the issue of the fields. I'm eager to hone my new skills and fight with you if you want to." The symbiont had fallen asleep again its acidic saliva quietly sizzling as it left burn marks on the table.
  7. Ezeran feeds the symbiont pieces of sausages, now and then it lets out a loudly burp. Ezerans eyes casts a warm glance towards the wolf. "He seems to have chosen a wise master. My father had a dog when I was really young, it was both loyal and smart." He turned his gaze back to Keliim. "I've been on four quests. I've seen a lot this past years: plants going on rampages through the city, a close encounter with an alchemist assembly gone amok and a couple of days ago I saw Zylstra burn to the ground. Having realistic expectations of what can be done to help the people of this city seems to be paramount to be able to cope with the long term challenges. And the city sure seems to be brewing with, well some mixture of discontent." Ezeran covertly pointed to the newcomer who had been part of the commotion earlier."It's sad t see courtesy and patience in such short supply... I have been on one short trip to the fields but I want to get back to hone my skills some more. It would be an honour to fight beside you!"
  8. Ezeran smiles and takes a seat. "I hope my reputation goes beyond my demonic appearances? The symbiont seems as curious about your wolf. He has no aggressions towards animals, in normal situations anyhow. I'm still fairly new to all this." Ezeran waves around the hall with sweeping gestures. "I'm new to the art of sorcery but somehow I believe it will suit me quiet well... Tell me more about you and your companion. Have you been doing this hero-business for long?"
  9. Ezeran leaves the table with a slight nod to look at the note Keliim left. He brushes his chin and heads over to the table where Keliim is sitting.H He nods towards Keliim. The symbiont seemed to disregard the big dire wolf altogether. "I'm interested to join a party to the fields of glory. I have learned a couple of new tricks since last time." The sorcerer smiled as pale red vines slowly grew up round the legs of the table. Small pale flowers was budding and petals with small venomous green skulls was unfurling.
  10. Ezeran nods and waves to him to continue their conversation while he sits and listens in.
  11. Ezeran brushes off some more ashes from his clothes and moves to Petaldans table. "Good evening to you young master. Are you well?" Ezeran turns to Eric. "Have we met before?"
  12. Ezeran wasn't troubled by the talk of rampant automata from space. He had more pressing threats to concern about from other realms. Ezeran walks over to the notice board and posts a small note before returning to his seat with another mulled wine. The note read: "Practical and warm hood for sale, perfect for meeting undead and others. Ask Ezeran Yavarr if interested: Hood of the Elementalist (SP:1, *Absorbs darkness*; headwear, suitable to anyone)"
  13. Ezeran raises his glass to greet Boris and nods.
  14. I've been busy, just made a page for The Henrys with all the categories and winners for both award ceremonies. And let me tell you folks, there are a LOT of categories...
  15. Ezeran looked on the hectic scene in the hall while sipping on another mulled wine. He was content for the time being.
  16. Ezeran enjoys his new glass of mulled wine while eavesdropping on the rude wrinkled foreigner. He raises his glass towards Jinnipher and gives her a nod.
  17. I'm hoping for prizes in the form of "honorable mentions"...
  18. I would like to see a diversified prize pool for the wikia-contest, I'm not going to have the time to invest fully and thus being able to compete for the two prizes. For me the possibility to gain the scholar-class and maybe a small sum of gold would be awesome.
  19. I registered as MysticModulus.
  20. Ezeran enters the hall again. He sees Petaldan and smiles. "Evening young master knight, it's good to see you. Have you been able to clean your shield since that awful business with the imps? You did real good there!" The sorcerer sits down next to Petaldan.
  21. While exploring a new way from the market to the hall a piece of paper suddenly materialises in mid air. Reacting with lightning reflexes Ezeran catches the paper before the symbiont devours it. Ezeran then signs his name to it before it starts to loose form and then vanishes again . The sorcerer had had stranger experiences and shrugged the whole thing off before walking on.
  22. Ezeran walks up to Fabian and hands him the Hood of the Elementalist (SP:1, *Absorbs darkness*; headwear, suitable to anyone). "How much are you willing to pay me for this?"
  23. "A friendly tip though, asking impolite questions and not accepting the answers - especially with that kind of argument - won't make your career as a diplomat a great one." Ezeran shrugs and returns once again to his mulled wine. Finishing his mulled wine, Ezeran stands up and leaves the hall.
  24. "Partly yes, but not 'the kind' you're looking for. Look, I'm sorry your homeland has suffered some kind of injustice but there is a city full of people with that kind of experience. You are sadly not unique in that department. So why are you here? Heroica is not an organisation that deals in vengeance."
