  1. I am really looking forward to adding the new dragon knights and lion knights to my collection. Even though Lego has portrayed the dragon knights as the invaders (ie. bad guys), I for one don't see either of the factions as the bad guy. I like to pretend that they are all their individual faction or dominion within the greater kingdom. Sometimes there are battles and alliances are made between different factions. I even don't pretend that Vladek is evil, just another faction that tends to make alliances with the more shady factions ~Wowplayer
  2. I agree, and would have rather used your technique for the windows. However, as I said earlier, I limited myself to only using parts from my current castle sets from the fantasy era theme. So I only had about 3900 pieces to build this set from. And believe it or not, none of those sets come with the pieces you described (1x1 pieces) at least not enough. I think I have like maybe a grand total of 10 1x1 pieces available to me from the limited collection of sets I was using. P.S. LuxorV, thanks for the heads up, I'll work on reducing the images.
  3. Thank you all for your kind remarks! I really appreciate it I had been wanting for quite a long time to build something like this, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I'm now in the process of building my next castle MOC, but I'm using my Knights' Kingdom II collection. We'll see how it turns out.
  4. So after being a member of Eurobricks for a few years and not having as much time as I would like to add to discussions and such. I have finally completed my first Castle MOC, and I've been eager to share it with all you guys. I appreciate any kind of feedback anyone wants to provide. Please provide feedback based on my MOC. I know the pictures could have been better I have a fairly large Lego collection. But I built this cathedral out of a much smaller percentage of my total Lego collection. I used pieces for this MOC out of the following sets: 7094 King's Castle Siege 7097 Trolls' Mountain Fortress 7029 Skeleton Ship Attack 7036 Dwarves' Mine 7093 Skeleton Tower 7092 Skeletons' Prison Carriage 7091 Knights' Catapult Defense 7009 The Final Joust 7090 Crossbow Attack (x2) The brickshelf folder when it becomes public is here. Brickshelf is taking to long.... here's my flickr page. So the build took me about 25 hours over 4 days. A view from the back. I wasn't able to finish the back the way I had intended to due to lacking the right kind of pieces, as well as in general, I ran out of pieces Here's the front The roof sort of flips up the podium the few benches and a chandelier a view from the entrance with the roof in place, and using the camera's flash the back. I think this turned out pretty good considering my sad, yet innovative design for stained glass windows Well check out the folder when it become public for more images. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks for viewing ~Wowplayer
  5. I have the original one, and so didn't think I needed this newer redesign, but it is just way better than the first one. I might have to actually figure out how to get this one, when it becomes available in the US.
  6. Not to go against the stream here, or upset Aeroeza , but I'm still hoping for a system scale redesign of the Imperial shuttle w/Endor landing platform. But if it does end up being a UCS scale imperial shuttle, I can live with that, my budget for this year is already being stretched too much. So, if it does end up being a UCS scale set, I can skip it, and more easily afford the other sets on my wishlist.

    X-wing

The Current X-Wing model has been available since 2004. Set 6212 came out in 2006 and Lego hasn't stopped producing it yet, that I know of. I don't have any insider information, but my personal belief is that we will see quite a few redesigns or maybe just re-releases next year. Here's the sets I think we will see redesigned/re-released next year. Possible redesigns for 2011: X-Wing (Originally design released in 1999, and re-releases in 2003. Redesigned in 2004, and new design re-released in 2006, available through 2010). TIE Fighter (Available as 7146 from 2001, re-released as part of 10131 in 2004, and re-released as 7263 in 2005). Millennium Falcon (Original design released in 2000, and redesigned in 2004). Imperial Shuttlecraft (Original design released in 2001, re-released as 7264 in 2005, possibly being redesigned for 10212 in 2010, but there is some controversy whether this is a UCS, or a system set). Cloud City (Original design released 2003, read some rumors on the forums about this set possibly coming out next year, not sure if these rumors are correct, would be cool though. Possible re-releases 2011: B-Wing (Original design released in 2000, redesigned in 2006. Design is good, so I only expect a re-release in 2011). A-Wing (Original Design released in 2000, redesigned in 2006, and re-released as part of 7754 in 2009. So I don't think we'll see a redesign, maybe just a re-release in 2011). Y-Wing (Original design released in 1999, re-released in 2002, and 2004, redesigned in 2007, very nice design, so we might only get a re-release in 2011).
  8. Very nice job indeed I've always thought about doing this kind of mod. I wanted to do it simple yet functional. You've done both!
  9. You should check with your bank, to see if you could get a debit card. It's basically an ATM card that allows you to use it like a Visa/MC, so it comes right out of your checking account. Also, have you tried giving Lego a call and seeing if they accept checks over the phone? I know they accept them through the mail. Of course, there is a short wait (a few days) while they process your check, before they'll ship your order. -Wowplayer
  10. 7166 The Imperial Shuttle was my first Lego set, when I emerged from my dark period and started purchasing Lego again. Since then, I've had a thing for shuttle crafts, and very much look forward to this set being available in the US. Yes, the room inside the shuttle is kind of small, but there are chairs for two passengers + the area where Anakin becomes Darth Vader. So, actually that is really cramming a lot in such a small area. I do agree that the dorsal could have been done better, but I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen so far.
  11. I voted for Vladek's Castle. I have both of these sets, and both of them are really awesome. There's things I like and don't like about both of them. 10176 is nice because of its attempt to back to an earlier time, but I've never been much a fan of raised baseplates and the construction reminds me too much of the castle of morcia, basically it's just a better castle of morcia. Vladek's castle is just amazing and I don't have much to complain about it. Probably the only thing I didn't like is the power-ranger colored knights. The castle is huge and when added to a couple scorpion caves sets it looks even larger. I love the working drawbridge. I think this will work quite well with the new skeleton armies that are coming out later this year.
  12. That is just way to long ago to even think about what was the oldest Lego set I remember seeing, but the one set that made the biggest impression on me when I saw it, would be the orignal Black Seas Barracuda *wub* http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/6285-1.jpg I never got to buy the original one, but I bought the legend immediately when it was re-released. :'-)
  13. I don't even want to think about how long it would take for me to sort my Lego collection. I have over 54,000 pieces, which equals over 220 sets. There all built right now. It took me almost 6 1/2 weeks to build them all :-D if I had to take them apart and sort them into color or type of piece, it would take a long time :-|
  14. Cool *sweet* I look forward to seeing it
  15. Hey, your ship uses an interesting build which I like. The only thing is its kinda hard to see the whole ship, at least from an overall view. Do you think you could post a picture maybe from the side, or maybe looking at it from an angle so I can see the front and the side of the ship at the same time? Good job though, keep up the work :-)
  16. I think it's a great set, which proves Lego is beginning to listen to what the AFOL community really wants. But for me, I could never spend that much money on one set (well I could, but I just haven't seen a set that that I would spend that much on). Maybe if they released a huge classic castle type set with 5000+ pieces and 40 menfigures :'-) My lego budget is about $1,000 per year, and that millenium falcon would be half my budget then I would have to forgo something else, which I can't :-/
  17. LOL! that would be a perfect video moment X-D On another note, I can't wait for these sets, August is just too far away :-( I don't think I'll be buying multiples of any of these, but I will certainly be getting them all. My personal undead army to wreck havoc on my other castle themes >:-)
  18. OMG that's a hilarious idea :-D At first I wasn't really impressed with these sets considering their obvious connection to Life on Mars sets (I have the entire LoM collection, got them all from target for 65% off X-D ). But, the MM sets are really beginning to grow on me.
  19. I saw Little Miss Sunshine a couple of days ago, and boy was it hilarious :-D , and kinda wierd, in a good way X-D
  20. I chose 4+ Pirates *n* , When I heard that lego would be releasing a new pirate theme back a couple years ago, I about went through the roof :-P , only to find out this is what was being released :-(
  21. Thank you everyone for the wonderful welcome into the EB community :-) P.S. nice screenshot Asuka *wub*
  22. Awesome MOC Brick Miner *y* I love wild west and was lucky enough to get the reissued Fort Legorado a couple years back :-) I really like how you make the set look so official. P.S. Grats on one year on EB!
  23. Happy Birthday Kim! Hope you have a very enjoyable birthday :-)
  24. Here is another post that seems to be discussing it http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...c=7885&hl=10182 -Wowplayer
  25. Hi Guys! I'm new and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Aaron. I've been a guest of this forum for a little over one year, and I've finally decided to create an account so I can make post and discuss lego with everybody instead of just reading the post :-) I, like many of you played with lego growing up *wub* I entered my dark ages around 14, and came out about 3 years ago. I'm now 25. In the last three years I've amassed a collection of around 200 sets and 50,000+ pieces. Every year kills my checkbook :-D My favorite themes are castle, city, space :'-( , and pirates. Half of my collection is old colors and half is new. I keep them seperated as if they were two seperate lego collections. Here's the address to my brickshelf account: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=aaronsm81 Its mostly SW and a couple of MOC's. I'll see if I can find a avatar and sig. soon, so that my post look a little more professional :-P
