Thanks for the kind remarks! I really didn't want to take it apart, but it was collecting a ton of dust I specifically took it apart to try building some MOCs based on the new Alien Conquest theme. I'm really looking forward the new space theme

Hey Guys, So I built this over a year ago when the first leaked images for Atlantis showed up. I decided I needed to finally take it apart, but I wanted to show you guys some pictures of it before I did so. I wanted to build a sub that slightly resembled the Neptune Carrier sub. The image I looked at for inspiration was so small and blurry that I couldn't tell very much from it. So here was my attempt at creating something that resembled what I saw in the picture. I know it looks nothing like the Neptune Carrier, but I still like how it turned out. Let me know what you guys think of it (constructive criticism is welcome ). Here's the link to the flickr page for more pictures!

Very interesting... I got the Lunar Limo for Christmas and I hadn't even noticed the sloppy construction until you pointed it out Zero1312. I modified mine to look the same as DrNightmare.

After seeing the higher resolution uploads on flickr, I have to say I'm really excited about this theme. The only part I'm not too keen on is the light and sound affects on the different models. And I'm interested to know how the abduction function works on 7052 UFO Abduction.

YES! YES! YES! I love these. Not quite a return to classic space themes like blacktron, futuron, and ice planet. But I love it all the same. I can see why people don't care too much for the human vehicles (they do remind me of the Agent theme), but I think they are awesome! I'm very much looking forward to High-Res images and the toy fair in February

You could be right, but he mentioned seeing 2 green aliens and 2 power miner type figs and a civilian guy in the battle pack. And he mentioned that there was a name included for the theme(something along the lines of Alien Invasion), but he wasn't sure. So, I'm still holding out for a new space theme.

If this is true, then I'm super excited!!! Though I'm worried what the aliens will look like. I absolutely was disgusted with the aliens from Mars Mission, but I think the aliens from SP3 were awesome. So, hopefully they will be closer to SP3. I hope we don't have to wait to much longer to get more information about this theme if the rumor is true. And hopefully some pictures come along with any new news too!

So now that we are getting an idea what the figures will actually look like, how much do you think the sets will change going from the prototype models we've seen to their actual look at release. The catalog that was leaked shows them looking pretty close to what one might imagine they will looking like. But in the past we've seen that Lego can sometimes drastically change what a set looks like between the prototype stage and the actual release. I don't think they will change much, if even at all. But if I had my wish, I would like the sphinx to look more like a statue and less like a robot dog. The same goes for the snake. I'm not really into the cloth piece for the snake's hood. And for the pyramid, I'd like them to replace the giant scorpion with sometime else (maybe another vehicle), but I know they wouldn't do that anyways. If Lego made these small changes, this theme would be just about perfect! What do you guys think? ~Wowplayer

How exciting! Can't wait to see pictures of it. Sounds like it will go really well next to my MMV

I'm aware of the new City Space Port sets coming out next year. THOSE DON'T COUNT...lol I guess I should have been more specific. I want to know what you guys want as far as Futuristic Deep Space Theme goes. I'm not a fan of town/city sets.

Right now there is a bit of speculation about whether or not we will get a new space theme next year to replace Space Police 3. Lets pretend that its been confirmed that we will indeed be getting a new Space theme in 2011. (I'm not going to listen to you guys that say we aren't getting one, let me dream a little pls ). So, what do you think it will be? What do you want it to be? Give me a theme. Tell me about it. Make up a set list to go along with this new theme. Blacktron 2 or Ice Planet 2002 is probably my most favorite space theme to date. So I'd like to see a continuation of one of those. As for sets the theme would have to include: A space base approx $80-100 (I would love one even larger, but I'll be more realistic) A large ship like Galactic enforcer or Deep Freeze Defender (my favorite space ship) A mid-size ship like the Rebel Hunter (my favorite mid-sized ship) and a few smaller sets. What do you guys want?

Now you've made me curious. I don't have the original one, I have the Legend re-release issue of the BSB. Now I'm going to have to check mine to see if I've got the same issue. Probably not, as mine is a re-release, but I'm still curious.

It may be tough to think that Lego might actually release more Kingdom sets with the Pharaoh's Quest theme and Pirates of the Caribbean theme, but Lego Kingdom doesn't really double-dip into those categories in my opinion. So I think we will see more Kingdom sets released, however we might only see a few sets (3-4) is my guess. I'm not expecting them to be anything super special either, just kind of a small continuation of the theme. That should keep us going until 2012, when we might see something a little bigger happen to the theme. I agree with you guys on release time. Historic themes like castle, in the past haven't been released until the second half of the year around September. ~Wowplayer

Welcome Chris! I like the Rock Raider theme too, but they came out during my dark ages. But I was lucky enough to obtain a couple of them when I came back to the hobby. Hope you enjoy yourself here, and I definitely look forward to looking at anything you want to share with us (MOCs, LDD stuff, etc). Well take care ~Wowplayer

I actually do know the difference between president and precedence...lol I should really reread my post at least once over before submitting it.

You make a good point here. I really like the idea of deep-space civilization sets, but I think you're right. I haven't seen a lot of MOCs around that fit that category, so I doubt Lego will create a line for it. Lego seems to think deep-space themes need some action component to it in order to sell well. Honestly, I'm fine with that. I really like that Blacktron Cyborg figure, and think that could make the absolutely best theme if Lego decided to go that route. My Lego budget for next year is already being stretched thin with the new Atlantis sets and the new Pharaoh's Quest theme. But, I would still put precedence to a New deep-space theme if Lego decides to do that. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed

OK, now things are making sense. I was trying to understand why we weren't showing the press release if other websites were showing it, but I get it now. They are showing it before Lego has said it is okay. Well, It's still an awesome set, and I can't wait to see it officially reviewed. Looks like I wont have to wait too long

Didn't read the earlier post. Thanks for the heads up. Not sure why they are being removed as Toys N Bricks has the official press release.

Excellent job! I really like the stained glass windows, great technique!

It's great to finally hear some more news! I've been waiting patiently for more information, ok I've not been very patient at all. So it seems that the theme will continue underwater. The hammerhead shark figure sounds interesting. I'm not a big fan of the drill sounding sub either. I guess I'll just have to wait for pictures Hopefully, I wont have to wait too long. My birthday is coming up soon, and I'm considering getting the Portal of Atlantis if these sets look good.

WOW! Just wow! Very impressive man. Everything about it is just wow!!!! I look forward to your next project. Keep up the good work!

I'm in agreement with you guys that SPIII is done for. I really enjoyed it while it lasted. I also understand why with Atlantis and the City Space port that you guys think we won't see any more space themed sets for 2011, but I really hope that isn't the case. I'm not much a fan of city sets, even space related ones, as well as I'm not a big fan of star wars sets, so I will be disappointed if I don't see some type of futuristic space theme in 2011. I for one think that the SPIII brought a lot of possibilities with it. I really enjoyed the whole 'Fifth Element' theme (as that is one of my favorite movies). I would like to see that 'futuristic' concept taken further in a Lego space theme. Maybe futuristic firetrucks, or a transportation bus. I know Lego likes to do themes with conflict, but I like the idea of simple futuristic city sets (ie. Explorers). ~Wowplayer

So I'm an huge fan of a certain Lego themes: Castle: (Yeah for the new Kingdoms!) Pirates: (Hmmm...We'll see about PotC, could be interesting) Atlantis: (Yeah for the news about Atlantis theme being continued) Space: (in 2011?) So I'm not sure if I'm allowed to start a topic like this yet, as we don't have any information about next year as it is related to Lego space themed sets. It seems like a lot of themes are being produced for a period of two years, as someone else noted in another thread. I really like the Space Police III sets, but they have been out for two years now. So more then likely we are getting a new space theme, or it's being discontinued next year (i hope not ). So what's your guy's thoughts on this? What do you hope will happen to the space theme for 2011?? ~Wowplayer
