  1. Thanks for clarifying. And is the little 90 degree turned wheel under the green house (3-4 studs back from where the operator is standing) there to prevent it tipping sideways? Don't you need one on the other side as well?
  2. Thanks for the LDD files on Cuussoo. What I'm wondering: you use the double conical gears Z12 on the ends as wheels to turn the table. But the two conical gears that make both 'wheelsets' turn in different directions coming from the motor also touch the ground, and therefor will want to give the table partly an opposing direction. Or are you planning to put the two loose rubber bands in the LDD file around the double conical gears that act as wheels?
  3. Oops, sorry about the mistake, I did mean the LDD model, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction
  4. Great work on here! Can I do a request? I can't seem to find the LDD model of 7636 Combine Harvester. Anyone willing to make one? I'd really appreciate it!
  5. Nice original creations! for your information, since you're into these themes, lego has made some snow-hill themed sets: Some in Gravity games in 2003-2004 http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Sports&subtheme=Gravity%20Games As well as a technic groomer in 2009: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8263-1
  6. Good news to see the site back up. Thanks for the hard work.
  7. http://www.hochgeschwindigkeitszuege.com/frankreich/tgv-duplex-foto-galerie.php# picture #30 Here you see both side by side. Indeed remarkably similar.
  8. My take: 68 wide is huge! Depending on the total size of your layout I would try to get the most important features of the station into a 48 wide station. It's much more practical for moving around as well if it's on a single (48x48) baseplate. You could for instance loose the little side extension to make it symmetrical.
  9. Wonderful Lego rendition of my favourite car. I always thought a replica kit-car would be the closest I would get to owning one, but maybe I'll start with a Lego version
  10. Fantastic detail in such a small car! I'm amazed at all the features. How sturdy is it with all those small "functional" bricks in there?
  11. Great street design! Love it. Are those streets tiled or bricks laying on their side (SNOT)? Did you consider both and their relative cost/practicality? I'm asking because I'm also planning a street scene, and am deliberating between the two options...
  12. I was just wondering how your layout would be progressing, and was searching for the old thread to ask the question. I guess this answers it... All the best to you and your family during the stressful time of moving. Hope you settle in well. Show us some progress once in a while when you get going again, I liked the step-by-step build-up of your previous layout.
  13. Amazing, I've been playing around with this in LDD, with a motor underneath the turntable, but you always run into the problem that it will be raised a couple of bricks. This is a brilliant way to solve this. Now to find a way with string AND going full circle
  14. Great detail and realism! Are those brick-built sheep behind the power station? Looks nice: do you have a close-up?
  15. The problem with the bricks being mixed in with a lot a random bricks is that they probably have scratches. People are very picky about their Santa Fe coaches, and with scratches and without stickers it might not be worth that much
  16. Great news, thanks for sharing. Just grabbed the last 2 that were available though... Let's hope a new production run is made
  17. Great work! Hard to choose! Here are my votes, 1 point each for: 4 10 14 19 24
  18. And how are you going to keep it dust free? Or how do you plan to get the dust off? Dust is one of my main annoyances with displaying lego...
  19. Ah, I see (and I see more and more the devious ways of TLG). In the US you only pay $4,99 for a baseplate at S@H US site, while I would have to pay €8,99 at the S@H NL site. Doing the currency conversion that's double! Paying that kind of money it is considerably cheaper to get them second hand / new via bricklink with some shipping. Not that I would have the space for such an enormous amount of baseplates anyway :-) I'll follow your project with interest
  20. I did the same thing for my Market Street and Cafe Corner. I got 2 dark blue arches for the CC and the MS proper building, but substituted the ones in the stall for tan, which looks good. I also substituted the dark blue 1x4 for dark blue 1x2 bricks. Not only cheaper, but it also looks better because it simulates actual brickwork better I think. A tip on the CC door: it's the same one as in the Creator house 4956, which I picked up second hand (but still in near mint condition) for around EUR20. So that's a whole lot of free bricks if you count the door as already being worth the EUR20! And I agree with everyone: this whole process makes you appreciate them even more: the anticipation of collecting all the parts over months and months (combining with orders for other projects to cut down on shipping cost) is worth it when you finally start building. I did have to stop myself though to already start when I was at 90% complete
  21. Why did you go for new baseplates instead of cheaper second hand ones? Won't they all be covered up with structures/scenery/buildings anyway?
  22. Yup, I like the 12V stuff, most mostly from nostalgia. The current trains and Mocs that I see are so much more detailed. I know it's probably considered blasphemy, but I'm actually thinking of selling my 7750, seeing the rediculuously high prices that people pay for it...
  23. Hi all, I just read in (Huw's post on brickset) that the new Technic set 9398 4x4 crawler will be featuring a new Servo motor. Seeing the discussions around motorising switches, this might be useful for this? Does anyone have more info on these motors? Next to the new servo motor, Huw also mentioned another type of new motor in this set. Might have a different geometry that comes in handy when powering trains?
  24. Hi all, I'm an AFOL form the Netherlands, back into LEGO since 3 years after a long dark age of roughly 20 years. I have a few 12V trains and track accesories from back then, and have been backfilling most of the 9V stuff I've missed. Now the new PF trains are killing my wallet. I'm combining the trains with modulars (official and MOCs), and hope to make a display out of them when I can claim some space in the house. Looking forward to joining the discussions on here!
  25. Great work! I would definetely buy something like this. But isn't the piececount a little on the high side to be in the spirit of the winter village sets? I would be curious how many pieces it is.
