Yes, that looks right.

No, you just need the motor and wire for RC. It's PF that gives the problems as the connectors cannot be reversed to reverse the direction of the second motor.
-
A capacitor will kill the pulses as it charges so the motor will not turn at all. I'm not sure what will happen once it's charged but I suspect it will still level the pulses so things will not work properly. Jonathan

A pity. Unfortunately my programming days were 25 years ago and not on PCs so I can't assist. I think usually when moving a selection. I can forward any info given, if it will help. I don't know if it's worth chasing XP64 bugs at this stage unless it's still likely to be a problem in W7 64. Jonathan

A feature I've felt was missing is to be able to 'flip' the selected area to create a mirror image. Sometimes 'rotate' just doesn't do enough.... I've also had the occasional crash under XP64 so I hope that's one of the bugs fixed. Great product, looking forward to the next version. Jonathan

And in BlueBrick.

As I understand it, those were the models that the final thirty were selected from. I don't think the designs for the rejects were ever released to the public which is a shame as some of them are nicer than the ones selected. Jonathan

For a basic reversing loop you need one point/switch, 13 curves & 7 straights - image attached. The loop you link to uses more curves and fewer straights and I can't quite see how to make it without a couple of pieces of flexi-track.

This is from STEAM last year. You'll see something very similar to your MOD near the back. This the table I shared with Andrew Walker and the TS3 is his. Jonathan

More MOD than MOC: 7938.5 plus club car and freight wagon
Snapshot posted a topic in LEGO Train Tech
I finally finished my 7938.5 hybrid and, as threatened, made a club car for it. No interior detail in the club car yet and it's as ugly as I expected so I may not keep it. Suggestions on improving it welcome. I was going to build a second one but decided on a new version of an old favourite and made a freight wagon instead which I think works quite well. Note that the large and small windows are the opposite way round compared with the club car as I couldn't decide which I preferred. Again, opinions welcome. The train shown runs well on my test track which is a tight figure-of-eight with a deliberately nasty wiggle over the crossing. Jonathan I didn't see why the loco should have a passenger-access door so changed it to engineering access instead. -
Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
Snapshot replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Okay, so PF not included. 8878 - rechargeable battery box (No stock anywhere until end of March. Could this be a hint for the release date?) 8887 - PF transformer 8884 - IR receiver 8879 - speed remote control 88002 - PF train motor inc wheels & axles (Where is this available, other than US?) Interesting that the rechargeable battery pack plus transformer are listed rather than bb464 / 88000, the non-rechargeable version. I definitely want two (or even three) of this set. I only found this thread yesterday so here's a couple from me. I have to admit I'm not deeply imbedded in the SW culture so these are using SW figures rather than being related to the films in any way. They're really part of a series on my web site but can stand on their own. The second one is also my flickr avatar. Jonathan Is there something these two aren't telling the others? Another random act of violence.....

If you haven't already found it this Wikipedia link will give you information on the loco actually used in the films and this is probably the ultimate Lego version as it's the one used in the HP game and as the basis of the current Lego version of the train. Jonathan

Instructions To Build ALL 30 Models Of The Lego Hobby Train (10183)
Snapshot replied to AFOL SF's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great work, Andy. Those PDFs are truly horrible and it can't have been easy to see where the parts that LDD objected to were supposed to go. You've got a few errors in the numbering in the first six entries but it's sorted out by number 7. Jonathan -
I think it's always an issue. The PF connector is thicker than the old 9V one and fouls the bottom of the baseplate.
-
Ah good, someone else with a 5101. I built one in red as well as green but the green looks better. I've also built three of the BlokBricks timber wagons and I get stick (sorry!) for using real wood for the load instead of Lego. Jonathan

That's what I do although, as Andy says, it does mean there's extra wiring to fit inside whatever you're building.

Instructions To Build ALL 30 Models Of The Lego Hobby Train (10183)

Some are easy. Here's my (slightly modified) Hobby Train 5 with PF added: No 22 looks like it should be okay too but others will be more of a challenge. -

There's a large thread about this roughly halfway down the second page here. Read that and you should find the links you need. -
That's from Mark Bellis who also has the photo on Brickshelf. Use the two bits of info together and you should be there. He also has more photo's here. I'm getting out my modelling saw, knife and files.....
-
That's very good indeed and I suspect you've identified the original that the 7938 was modelled from.
-
Somewhere, possibly on Brickshelf, I've seen a photo of one modified so each pair of switches goes in opposite directions i.e. both straight or both switched. I think I know whose it was and I'll email him for details.
-
Of course not. Just ask if you need any more info. My EN isn't powered as I just didn't like the way it was done so I turned the first coach into a baggage car and hid the battery & IR receiver in there with two RC motors underneath. However an EN with two tenders does not 'push' well (I have some ideas to improve this) so I usually put my Brick Express 'Large Prairie' in front of the rake instead. Make sure you find Bricktrix's Flying Scotsman in his flickr stream as that will help too. I couldn't find many pics of the Scotsman with two tenders so finding Carl's version was a large bonus. Jonathan

Yes, it's the same size. It fits on Technic axles so is used on train motors or brick-built bogies.

Been there, done that.
