(Mods, in case that this has already been reported please delete this thread. I looked but didn´t find it mentioned anywhere) Today I got a small light letter from LEGO together with a new set of gold coins and one gold bar. It started when I bought the London Escape set last week and found that they new dull gold parts were missing and instead I had the older type gold coins (which of course look better than the newer dull ones). As usual the customer service was very helpful and I guess all of you can imagine how surprised I was when opened the envelope and saw the shiny golden color and the new parts, exactly as originally promised on the box art. Did anyone else get the newer type in shiny gold? Maybe even with the sets? Here are two pictures to prove it Well even Jack´s compass proves that this is the kind of gold he wants...

An Archaeologist´s Working Life
Adrian86 replied to Adrian86's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you! Yes it´s based on my life, I thought why not create some scenes I´m more than familiar with. I got the idea after looking through the pictures of last year´s campaign. Looking at those scenes again I´m sure the first and the last scenes would work in a bigger museum MOC. -
That´s simply beautiful and I love all those incredible details that give this scene such a great atmosphere. Fantastic work!

That´s a really beautiful work. The design is really impressive in it´s realistic feeling way and the little alley inbetween is a fantastic idea. Wonderful!

This is a series of vignettes that are centered around four main activities of today´s archaeologists. At first we have the biggest part of the work. The research, interpretation, documentation and organization. Then our archaeologist might get lucky and even receive the needed funds to finance another campaign on an archaeological site. But before the fun starts he has to spend endless hours at the airport. Finally he reached the site and starts digging for new artifacts, structures and maybe knowledge. Hopefully he will find that interesting looking dagger underneath all those dirt. Again away from the field our archaeologist starts documenting the finds of the day. Sooner than later he will again sit in his office doing research, interpretation, documentation and organization ;-) Thanks for looking!

After getting the great Escape from London set I decided to recreate this funny little scene from Curse of the Black Pearl where Jack and Will find Gibbs sleeping in a pig stall in Tortuga. In the movie you can´t see very much of the stall but I think that this one here works quite well. Enough talking here are some pictures: Thanks for looking!

Thanks! In case you haven´t seen it I did another museum MOC in the Action Themes subforum Meeting in the Museum

[MOC/MOD] Imperial Colony "Port Marché Mediéval"
Adrian86 replied to Adrian86's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks! I´m currently reworking parts of it to make space for the PotC sets. I´ve never thought much about the palm tree placement since the square base always looked okay for me on "stone" grounds. But I see your point. -
I guess they just don´t want to see the trouble as the Hassassins look quite dangerous
-
Again I built a little museum vignette but this time for the Pharaoh´s Quest theme. This time I managed to build in two light up features and am very pleased with the result. Ok, enough talking here are the pictures: Thanks for looking!

Here is a small Prince of Persia MOC I made today featuring a small scene showing Dastan and Tamina fighting two Hassassins at the harbour. I know that´s not something shown in the movie but it was still fun to build. Thanks for looking!

Fantastic work! The details are great and the overall look is just beautiful. For me that´s a perfect entry! -
Normally I´m not so much into cars but these look great!

Very nice! I agree some book shelfs would certainly help this MOC but the scene is easily recognizable and I love the catacombs under the main floor.

What a wonderful MOC! The tower looks fantastic and all those little stories all over it are awesome!

[MOC/MOD] Imperial Colony "Port Marché Mediéval"
Adrian86 replied to Adrian86's topic in Pirate MOCs
Here are some new pictures! Our little party of Pirates got joined buy a famous wannabe-pirate who is telling them over and over about his great adventure that has something to do with monkeys... Can you tell who I tried to recreate? It looks like this unlucky fellow here found the old hidden jungle temple, but it isn´t as abandoned as he thought. The little fisherman here finally good some period correct clothes. So close but so far... maybe someone on the flagship will spot and rescue him. But he has a pretty partner on his little island. What is he doing here in the Caribbean? Maybe it has something to do with the old temple hidden in the jungle. Cannons, every colony should have some. Thanks for looking! Some more pictures are on my MOCpages! -
This is simply beautiful and great to look at!

Sorry for the misuse of the term. I can see what you mean with the plain floor, but I tried to stay close to the way most modern museums are decorated today. However I guess one or two more minifigures it would look a bit less plain. I´ll keep that in mind for the next build.

This little MOC here is something like a premiere for me. [It is almost completely SNOT and] I could finally build in a light up feature. EDIT: Sorry, I´ve misused the term. But the use of the light brick is still a premiere for me. Background Story: Indy shows a new Ph.D.-candidate a skeleton with a crystal skull in the museum. It´s obviously not one of those he has seen in Akator, but still interesting. Thanks for looking!

I love all these LEGO Photography threads on the other boards. So to me it´s great that the Pirates forum now also has one. Here is my first contribution

[MOC/MOD] Imperial Colony "Port Marché Mediéval"
Adrian86 replied to Adrian86's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank you so much for all these kind replies! I think I will rework the fisherman to make him a bit more period correct. To use the town hall as the colonial government house was exactly my thought. To me the style of this building just screamed for it. The creation of all those little scenes was something I really enjoyed, there even more hidden in this setup and I hope to take some good pictures of them in the next days. To me those little scenes really bring a setup to life and I´m very glad that you all enjoy them. Big Cam, thanks a lot for blogging it on classic-pirates.com it´s really an honour for me! -
During the last two weeks I built this little port here. In fact I finally got around to create a comprehensive setting for some of my favourite sets. As you can clearly see this isn´t really a MOC as the landscape is build around the Medieval Market Village (10193), the town hall from Town Set (10184), the Soldier´s Fort (6242), Kraken Attackin´ (6240), Loot Island (6241), the bridge from Venice Canal Chase (7197) and the Imperial Flagship (10210). My intention was to create a nice display for these sets with a few little MOCs thrown inbetween. So here it is, my first big diorama. The rough piece count is about 6000. When the weather and lightning gets better I´ll take more pictures. The Port itself with Imperial Flagship. It´s quite a busy little port, although the little fisherman seems to have quite a good time. The pirate´s on the left are surely enjoying their life on the beach. The local troops get ready for the Admiral´s upcoming visit. Even this lonesome Bluecoat officer gets ready. This little port village is full of merchants... ... and other strange people. Hopefully he won´t loose another part of his body in this fight. This friendly guy brings new supplies for the pirate´s party on the beach. Last preparations in the village, everything has to be clean. The Admiral´s private stuff is already getting brought to his local rooms. Maybe someday somebody will explore the hidden secrets of the jungle. The Admiral´s wife and daughter are so happy to see him again. Well, his wife actually looks a bit angry. One last look into the great freedom. The Imperial Flagship has arrived. Thank you very much for looking!
