  5. I apologize for the sub-par review/image quality...this is my first review! Hopefully I will get better with practice. Picked this set up on May 28 at the TRU in Bloomington, MN. Set#: 6918-1 Name: Blacksmith Attack Theme: Kingdoms Release: June 2011 Pieces: 104 Minifigs: 2 MSRP: 9.99 USD Front View Back View Contents Large Bag Small Bag Weapons Bag Instructions Dragon Knight Blacksmith Build Progress Complete! Extras Verdict Playability: 7/10 (New weapons, a couple mini-figs and chicken, turning water wheel powers hammer and anvil setup) Design: 5/10 (Pretty basic setup, the 2 pieces of the water wheel are the stand out) Price: 8/10 (Reasonable price for set this size. Would have been disappointed if it were any higher) Overall: 7/10 (Makes a nice addition to existing castle or medieval themes you have going, or for the parts.)

  7. My collection hasn't grown out of control (yet), but in the process of experimenting with organizers for some of my smaller parts, I have found that the organizer trays/containers with fixed walls are more difficult for me to get pieces out of. When I build, I usually sit in the middle of the floor or at a table and spread out everything in front of me in an arc. Fixed compartments require me to lean over frequently to reach for pieces. At a local big box home store, I found a set of organizers that have removeable compartment cups so that if I am looking for one specific piece among many, I can pull out the cup, dump it onto the area in front of me to quickly find it, and then shovel everything back in the cup and put it back into the container. I have 4 of the following, with plans to get a couple more once I further sort out my smaller pieces. Stanley Deep Professional Organizer --Evil

  10. Redeemed my first of 6 free PAB boxes from the pre-holiday promotion at the Mall of America store in MN yesterday. 43 2x12 light gray plates 48 1x4 brown tiles 36 1x4 brown bricks 108 1x4 light gray bricks 44 2x6 brown plates Total of 279 pieces. Work on building up my collection to start doing some castle-type MOCs. Will report more results as I redeem my other boxes. I only did one because it was way too crowded. --Evil
  11. Just an update on my LEGOLand California visit. My Father-In-Law got my wife and I tickets for Christmas. Its a long story, but apparently he got them for free from someone who won them in a raffle but didn't want them. It was neat to see all the models and whatnot but the rides are really geared more towards kids. Glad we didn't pony up the $$ for the tickets. We found some harder to find sets at some of the shops, but were dismayed when we presented out LEGO VIP card and were told they don't accept VIP cards any more because they are no longer owned by LEGO...wtf? They had a ton of both S2 and S3 minifigs, but I already have my set of each. Got myself a neat t-shirt on sale, which has a LEGO Boba Fett minifig on it. --Evil
  12. LEGO store in the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN, had a few GG on the shelf when I was there on Monday. Worth checking out if you are in the area and still need one. --Evil
  13. Rancor, no doubt about it. Maybe a set with Luke in the Rancor pit in Jabba's Palace, with Jabba and his cronies and dancing girls hanging out about. --Evil
  14. I can confirm that the LEGO store at the Mall of America does have PAB, and that they use cups (big and small). It's been a couple weeks since I was there, but I remember there being some sort of green foliage, but its mostly just basic parts in different colors. If I stop by this weekend I will try and take note of what they have. Thanks, --Evil
  15. Can someone please post a link to the Pick A Brick strategy article(s) referenced in this thread? I tried searching for them but couldn't find anything. Thanks! --Evil
  16. I've got all the minifigs I need, both Series 1 and 2. Is the store inside LEGOLAND, or can I just go and check out the store? I'm really not interested in the rides, if that's really where all the money for the ticket is going. Thanks for the replies so far, I really appreciate it. --Evil
  17. Hello all, I will be vacationing in San Diego for Christmas this year, and am interested in visiting LEGOLAND California. However, I checked the ticket prices and was shocked to see an adult ticket is $67 USD! I couldn't find any existing topics, so please point me in the right direction if need be. So...I was hoping the LEGO community could help me out with some questions I have to help me decide if LEGOLAND California is worth visiting. I know what the website has to say, but I want to hear honest opinions. 1. What does $67 get me? What exactly is there to see and do at LEGOLAND California to justify that price? 2. Will a non-LEGO enthusiast (i.e. my wife) enjoy going as well, or is this something I need to do with other LEGO fans? 3. Has anyone had any luck finding ticket discounts? 4. Is there a LEGO product store, and do they ever run any sales or have any exclusives? I may have some follow-up questions once I receive some feedback, so please bear with me. I would really appreciate any help you can provide, thanks! --Evil
  18. LEGO store at Mall of America in Minnesota has the Tower Bridge set in stock and on shelves for sale. Saw it with my own eyes! --Evil

  20. The Pharaoh minifigs from Series 2 have the helms: http://brickset.com/detail/?set=8684-16 --Evil
  21. Just got mine from Amazon as well: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ACUC0O?ie=UTF8&tag=f0f5-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002ACUC0O --Evil
  22. Just picked up the Winter Toy Shop (10199) from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ACUC0O?ie=UTF8&tag=f0f5-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002ACUC0O --Evil
  23. Amazon has the MMV for $99.99 + free shipping: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO%C2%AE-Castle-Medieval-Market-Village/dp/B001USHRCK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1285189205&sr=8-1-spell And through Amazon, you don't pay tax, so this is actually a better deal than through LEGO, as you would only get 99 VIP points (~$5 back), plus you would have to pay tax. This assuming you are in the US. --Evil
  24. +1 UsernameMDM Minifigs arrived quickly, thanks again! --Evil
