  1. I'm rescuing this thread from the abyss because I need help again :) http://www.brickset....ail/?Set=1896-1 1896 Trauma Team: was this set US only??? I cannot find a single picture of the set in an european variation... (I'm still unsure of 1821 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=1821-1 as well)
  2. Where those 1930 fireman torsos and legs come from? They're cool!
  3. In some countries it was bundled with 2996: I guess my real question is: Did this set had a US box version in America (name in Eng, Spa, Fr, piece count, etc) or because it was sold through S@H they just used the EU version straight?
  4. Hi everyone, I'm on a quest to find many Adventurers sets circa 1998, and I want their US release. Most of them where releases in US in one way or another (remember the Mummy Container and other TRU packs?) but I'm not sure about this one: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=2995-1 I've seen its European release, but not an American one (with piece count, etc. on the front of the box...) Does anyone have it or know its existence as US release? Thanks!!!
  5. What about this set: Seems US only to me: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=1821-1
  6. Hi guys, I'd like to buy two modulars and the Maersk train. I live in Canada and I'd like to figure out the cheapest way to buy them. Here's the math: Option 1) In Canada, the Modulars are 200CAD and the Maersk is 155CAD = 555CAD + 15/20CAD for shipping = 575CAD If I buy them from the States... Lego (US Shop) doesn't ship to Canada... The cheapest I found is in Bricklink, with a +20USD markup: Option 2) 170USD per Modular + 135USD for the Maersk = 475 + 30/40USD for shipping = 515USD Is there any other option out there that I'm missing? eBay is crazy even for products that are totally available at the time...
  7. I was wondering... If I subscribe now, will I get the 2 sets already released at once? Or will I get them every 2 months from the moment I subscribe? In the same logic, if I subscribe in a few months... may I get all 5 sets at once? Not that I can do it easily... I'm in Canada, so I'll have to subscribe a friend in the US and then he's send it to me, because the prices for the first box in eBay/BL are OK (+10USD on the original price), but the prices for the subscription sets are just nuts...
  8. Yes is al good, is like 7 years old and 100 positives, and I verified it by sending him a message there. Everything should be fine now.
  9. Yes, everyone has to start somewhere, but just double-checking, as he signed up a day before ordering a $700+ order :)
  10. Well, I've been fully transparent with my reasons to do so, and he, the buyer, understands as well. I'm not trying to trick anyone into anything.
  11. Thanks for the reply, he seems to be legit on eBay. What is best for me, to ask to pay in CAD (my currency on Paypal) or USD (as a buyer I mainly buy in US) or it doesn't matter? Who pays that 2.5% Paypal currency conversion fee?
  12. To the UK. Through Paypal he could claim his money back, even if he got my item already, couldn't he?
  13. Question: Would you sell to a user with 0 feedback? I'm selling a big and expensive item on Bricklink, and I got an order for it. The buyer seems nice an all, but has 0 feedback and just created an account a day before placing its order. Would you sell to him? I offered only one option: paying through Paypal, as a Personal->Other payment, and funded from a bank account/Paypal credit. Is that enough to protect myself? THANKS!!
  14. awesome! can you tell us which parts do you use for the tires? do you use... this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3139 plus these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=122c01 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=122c02
  15. Just an update: I will selling the set for 799 including the shipping to anywhere. $799 final price you pay.
  16. http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=1665-1 (the picture in Brickset seems of an European box, but never seen this on eBay or anything...) http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=1821-1 So, US-only for both or no?
  17. They transformed the original minifigs, blank avatars where to kids can project themselves (sorry this is the game designer in me talking) into ""cool"" bad boy characters (grins, scars, etc...) They also brought guns into the mix, because kids probably like guns. As you can see, not a big fan here... I still like many of the new sets, but I have to modify them to my own old-fashioned idea of Lego :) Where can we read that "book". Is there a thread explaining what happened?
  18. Hi all, I recently came back to Lego and I found out that Cafe Corner was phased out. Then I remembered buying one and store it away back in the day. When I got the set I opened the box to see the inside, but never took out anything out of it. All is brand new! I'm selling for $789, almost a hundred dollars cheaper than the next new set in the BL marketplace, with no hidden conditions. I ship from Spain. I calculate the shipping costs using the Post Service calculator and I try to smooth out the costs for big sets like Cafe Corner, to make it cheaper and more convenient for the buyer. I do not overcharge for shipping nor packaging. Thanks for stopping by! -youtoo
  19. That's an amazing amount of interesting info. Thanks all!
  20. But the triangle in particular that started showing in the 90s (Divers, Rescue, Nautica...)... was that in the EU boxes?
  21. Thanks Karto. Theme triangle you mention that is common to so many series of the era (Divers, Rescue, etc.), the one that sits on the top-right corner... is this a US feature of the boxes or they were also in EU sets?
  22. http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=1782-1 US Only? All these 17-- references seem to be US only...
