  1. Love these!! I am easily amused too!! Thanks for sharing!!
  2. Comparison of SY Bizarro and Le Bao Quan (LEBQ) Bizarro. Bizarro not happy. https://www.flickr.c...ly/15888923676/ https://www.flickr.c...ly/15914713115/ https://www.flickr.c...ly/15727250358/ The plastic feels very Lele like. Did Lele ever make the Superman set? I picked up 4 different LEBQ sets for around $13 USD total. They took about a month to get to me. The sets were Spiderman, Superman, Iron Man, and Batman. They all looked like other SY sets I already have. But the quality is definitely worse. If you run across LEBQ sets, I would not have high expectations. Everything about them is cheaper than SY or Decool.
  3. Got my first LEBQ (Le Bao Quan) set today. They don't use string in Spiderman's web, it's all plastic. They totally even copied the layout of the SY base plates. https://www.flickr.c...ly/15720377468/ AntiVenom has a lightsaber web.
  4. I save all the extra pieces/bases in a container and use them to make things, like this display stand for the Human Torch minifigures (including that awful Torch figure that came with one of those knockoff Lego movie sets):
  5. I received my Doll brand set today (the one with Dark Phoenix). If I had to rate the quality, I guess it's below Decool, but better than Lele. The capes feel soft and fuzzy one one side...sorta cool! One figure was missing a base plate. Flash had 5 extra hands. I mainly wanted Dark Phoenix. The printing on her is not awful, but it looks like it printed twice and the second print was offset slightly from the first. Looks ok from a distance, I guess. I'm not complaining...just passing along what I got. I know it's all kind of potluck. It's all part of the bootleg experience to me! And thanks for passing along the info on hanmeimei. I buy from him a lot.
  6. I haven't had many problems with the Ebay sellers. The few issues I did have were all resolved quickly. I recently ordered the superhero figures with blue baseplates (I have no idea who makes them...there is no name), and they mailed me a set of SY Ninja figures. I contacted them and they sent the superhero set out right away (which I got yesterday). So, I ended up with a set of Ninja figures for free. The time it takes for the AE orders is all over the place. Mostly it seems to take longer. And with the holidays coming up, I expect everything to start taking longer to arrive. I also am hooked on this thread! I check it every day (sometimes more than once). So I appreciate all the postings and info!! I get a kick out of the awful figures...they make me laugh after a crappy day at work. I just won an auction for the Smurfs set for like $4...and I can't wait for them to arrive!! I expect them to be terrible!!! I am having trouble posting pictures...I need to go read up on what I am doing wrong. But I wanted to thank everyone for the info they pass along to us here!!
  7. I bought that set several months ago. The Silver Surfer I have was also missing a hand! They are truly awful !!!!
  8. I have them. I have no idea who made them, they didn't come with baseplates or anything else. As for the quality, I am not sure how to compare them. There are not a lot of transparent figures to compare to. They definitely feel stiffer than normal white Stormtrooper figures from Lego. They arrived assembled, and seem fairly well done. There were pricey for knockoffs (I paid $20 USD for 5 of them) but pretty cool. If you have any specific questions, let me know. I haven't tried to fit any of the pieces onto any other types of figures, so I can't say how interchangeable they are with other brands. I could try if you like and I'll let you know.
  9. Bizarro was the reason I got into knockoffs. The superman set was my first order about a year ago. I ordered another set about 2 weeks ago and got it today. Here is a comparison of the torsos: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ Torso is more rounded. Cape is darker purple. The torso printing is a little smaller. Overall the plastic is a bit less shiny on the body and the hair in the new one. Not sure I like the smaller printing though...things seemed to line up better in the older version.
  10. I ordered a set of these yesterday. From this listing: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Superhero-Big-figure-Combination-Minifigures-14-piece-lot-Building-Block-Compatible-Lego-Toy-Learning-Education-Free/1990714327.html It says "SY" for the brand. But I don't know what to expect. Any figures with that "Super" logo on the base plate are going to be awful. I have some (but not that set). I wouldn't even really recommend them for parts. I have several of the Iron Man sets that SY makes. I just built this one. It was a fun build, and the bricks are decent. Way better than Sluban, Kazi, Best Lock, or any number of other crappy bricks makers,
  11. Also a step below Lele in quality is JLB (Jia Li Bo toys). They did some anime figures Dragonball Z, One Piece...and I think they did some Simpsons ones. I have the Dragonball and One Piece figures. They look kinda cool, but there were pieces missing and the plastic quality is not great. I have a Star Wars set with a CB brand logo. I don't know what the CB even stands for...and it's definitely not the company that makes the Dr. Who stuff (Character Building). They were Lele quality figures, Some of the helmets fit too loosely. Etc. But I was impressed they used the new blaster molds that Lego created for Star Wars. The Blaster guns where you put the round 1x1 plate on the front if it, and then there is a little part to push on the top of the gun that pops the plate off the front of the gun. "Ow, Ow, Ow. Those new blasters hurt! Stop it!"
  12. I have those. They aren't terrible. The plastic is kind of stiff, and the printing is ok. The shiny helmets are pretty cool. They look nice on display. IQ Blocks are horrible. Even worse, if you see figures with baseplates that say "Bon Bon"...just run. I picked up a Star Wars set by Bon Bon, and they were the worst figures/printing/quality I have ever seen. They make Lele look top notch. I will try to post some pictures of them another day.
  13. I received my Plants vs Zombies set yesterday. Typical Lele quality. Although, I suppose a misshapen leg/foot actually works OK in this case. It's an added "feature" for a zombie figure. Malformed leg! And I also chuckled when I saw they took their "The Lele Movie" logo and just modified it to say "The Lele Block".
  14. Thanks for the heads up. I broke down and opened an account on aliexpress to get that cool new FF set! I can't wait to do a side by side picture of that new Thing alongside the Decool and Lele (shudder) Things I already have!!
  15. Durn it...I didn't notice that. Sorry.
  16. If anyone needs a Hulkbuster, I noticed last night Ebay seller c-store2008 put a lot of them up for sale. I picked up 3 (in separate auctions) for a grand total of $4.78 USD with free shipping. http://www.ebay.com/usr/c-store2008?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2754
  17. Just got mine today. Same here. The Punisher trench coat was pretty good. Not flimsy. The Taskmaster cape seemed a little stiffer. Both were pretty impressive compared to some of the really flimsy capes in the past.
  18. Did someone want to see MODOK? He looks neat from afar. Close-up, not so much. The face printing is not good. I don't know who produced those knockoffs, but the plastic quality is barely better than Lele. My initial judgment of the quality of knockoffs is "how much does it hurt when I try to snap the arms into the body?". Again, these weren't as painful to put together as recent Lele sets I have. But nowhere near as good as SY stuff. Here he is: https://www.flickr.c...ly/15137541811/
