So I've emerged from my dark ages - have 3 kids and so I'm getting to start playing again. My son's very into Lego, but I'm making sure to get plenty of play time for myself. I started by buying the 8297 Off Roader a few years ago. Currently I have a basement full of Technic sets that I've bought off Bricklink. I'm building and blogging as I go at www.mostlytechnic.com.

I did learn though (see my other posts) that the speed control remote DOES work with this base unit.
