  1. hehe sorry. Was just really excited, because in my eyes good deals always happen to other people :) It was a swedish webshop that was celebrating 8 years of operations and it seemed like they were doing some kind of "treasure" hunt on select toys and Lego sets. I was lucky enough to chance upon the 42025 and managed to secure two of them. I was too late for the 42008 (approx 12 Euro) and some other sets that I dont remember. Having recentley bought a 42025 for a more normal price, I now find myself with 3 sets... Which gives me some very interesting options :)
  2. Was lucky enough to get 2 brand new, MISB, 42025 for 24 Euros each. Very happy with that.
  3. Having recentley come out of my dark age, i picked this up at the post office on saturday. Good times!
  4. Since im just recentley out of my dark age, i have 42025 and 42030 on order. Also got some older sets (8043, 8110, 9396 and 42009) It's the only good thing with a dark age, everything is shiny and new!
  5. Thank you Grum64, I already feel quite at home
  6. Greetings. I am a recentley returned member to the flock. 3 years ago i got a stepson in my life and now I also have my own son aged 2. This led me to rediscover the joy and mental stimulation of Lego. Many times over the years, I have given thought to return, but in the end, always decided against it. But now i can not deny it anymore! I grew up in the late 70's and thus my Lego of passion at that time, was Space. Wonderful, wonderful Space. Luckily I had my parents keep all my sets and instructions and have been rebuilding some of them (I waited til my son was old enough to stop chewing/trying to eat the Lego). Those sets brings back so many happy memories of a long gone past. And I want my children to experience the same joy and thrill of the play and build. So far, I have bought some of the newer City sets, to let them build and play with. But now I need to purchase some for my own enjoyment, the pieces are calling to me in my dreams I have set my sights on the wonderful Technic series, which I have order the Crane mk2 (42009), The Unimog (8110), Excavator (8043) and the new Volvo front loader (42030) just earlier this evening. In my professional life I work with very complex computer systems and my job entails me to do some serious and complex analysis of misbehaving code and infrastructure. It's about equal parts cold logic and that mysterious gut-feeling/creativity. And as I have come to realize, that is exactly what Lego is, follow the instructions and then MOC. I just can't believe it's taken me close to 27 years to realize this... Anyhows, it's great to see so many other AFOL around, I've spent the most of my spare times the past days to browse the varous sub-forums and getting up to speed.
  7. Greetings everyone. I was hoping for some input on list. I'm quite new to Technic (if you discount some models i built as a kid in the 80's). With 2 kids (2 & 5) i've been exposed to Lego again. I was a avid builder some 25 years ago and helping the kids with their sets, has really rekindled my lost love for all things Lego. So, I want to purchase some Technic models for my own enjoyment (but also to let the kids play with a bit) I'm thinking of ordering the following sets and build them as time permits this autumn. 1. 8043 2. 8110 3. 42009 4. 42030 Is there something i should add or change to this list? Any other thoughts?
