Current Gunship and AT-AT: are they worth it?
aaroncb replied to Werlu Ulcur's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I enjoy my gunship and the AT-ATs are great. if you can find the gunship it's totally worth it. I would have bought more than one but we all know what target Canada was like, I was lucky to find the one I have. the AT-AT is a steal if you can find it on sale (I own 4) decent amount of figures and the large empty interior isn't bad if you want to make it your own or make variations. both are fun builds in their own way and in my opinion you won't be disappointed -
No MOCs in my future, if it counts however I'm going to try and figure out how to jack up / lift my 8098 turbo tanks, and figure how to incorporate the Death Star troopers battle pack cannon onto the roof of one of them and finally make a decent pop on/off rectangular falcon radar dish for my 7965 before episode 7 comes out

dismantling my Exo Toa and Taka Nuvas speeder thing, and shunning Lego as I grew up

I learned early on growing up that eating and building was a bad idea. I'd usually opt for a mid build snack if it was big enough of a job. at one point I'd have a dip (yes, gross army habit I've since quit) it now being summer I'm honestly looking for any excuse to sip on a corona and build!!

while moving things into storage under the stairs I made it a priority to make sure I had a safe spot for my unopened sets. (4 star destroyers, 2 vulture droids, the ghost, knowhere escape, 2 headhunters, 2 A wings and an at-at) whew.

Build wise for me, currently is the AT-DP or UCS slave I. My all time favourite will have to be the 2nd generation turbo tank because I found (Personally, anyway) it had massive potential for modification. I have 2 I've removed and replaced certain things.

19 inch Original LEGO Giant Display Minifigure - Who has one? Show it
aaroncb replied to Piratedave84's topic in Community
That's a super cool find! I didn't know they existed. On a side note, the terrible things I would do to get my hands on a vader figure. -
"tie interceptor".. I got a nice laugh out of that

Picked up Tahu and Kopaka and their respective "protectors" I honestly have no idea what's going on within the universe since years now, but seeing how well the 2 sets came together makes me want to go out to the crate i have in the garage of and dig out the Nuva versions I have. wonder if we'll get a Taka Nuva?

Nova Scotia, Canada. I went back the next day after purchasing hoping to pick up 3-4 of them (there was a whole section of them shelved) and there wasn't a single one left! the one(s) that got away i bit the bullet and picked up the wookie gunship today.

I <3 wal-mart sales. AT-AT 50$ x2 Vulture droids 20$ ea x2 A-wings 20$ ea Jek 14 stealth fighter 30$ Ezras speeder for 20$ (only a few dollars off from original price but hey, some money left over is nothing to complain about:))

I took advantage of targets demise, feeling somewhat guilty because i'll miss it but i picked up: x4 star destroyers, x1 the ghost, x1 cantina bar and 1 AT-AT. they're all multiples so they'll be staying in the box for collection purposes. then I swung by wal-mart and picked up the T-16 and Ani's custom jedi star fighter and they were some of my most personally enjoyed builds yet.

So, i purchased a set of 2013 hasbro "class II" jedi interceptors (eta II class, or in plain terms the ones from ROTS) with a set of anakin and obi wan figures from the saga legends series from my local target, which i assumed would fit perfect. i was half right, apparently the obi wan figure does not fit (and according to my google "research, i'm not the only one annoyed), is there a certain type of saga legends obi wan figure required? it's kind of a trivial detail but it's for a hanging display in my room. if it helps, i have the single obi wan figure rather than the mission pack with grievous (unsure if there is a difference) thanks everyone :)

Picked up the new AT-DP and tie advanced prototype, great sets. build techniques really suprised me and the figures are awesome (and not ugly like the clone wars!)

[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
aaroncb replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
it's like.. a UCS playset if i may. i'd buy it. being a rather iconic scene as the official start to the clone wars i'm surprised it hasn't been rendered in lego officially yet, that being said i hope when they do, they use your idea. it's beautiful, in a weird alien creature gladiatorial death match kind of way.- 20 replies

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
aaroncb replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hey everyone, I have a question regarding my 8098 2nd Gen turbo tank. well, to put it in "perspective" my turbo tanks (2) are pretty modified inside and out, one even has a bull-bar bumper which is a personal, non-canon mod being the 4x4 enthusiast I am. :) what I'm wondering about, would be a way of dropping the axles/suspension down, essentially "lifting" the vehicle. my only starting point (I think) would be to flip the brackets that the shocks are attached to, but I'd want to have a little more insight from others before I get into it. thanks! -
I'm super excited for the new Scooby Doo sets, though that image of the new series coming out on the front page of this thread is borderline terrifying. either way, endless nostalgia surrounding this theme for me :)

ASK HERE How to clean your LEGO sets/parts?
aaroncb replied to jngunsw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I keep most of my lego away from the sun as not to allow yellowing to take place as much, try not to leave the lights on. mind you my sets are all shelve surfers and see absolutely no play save for the triumphant "swoosh" on the way to the shelve post-completion. I use a very, very slightly damp cloth on non-sticker areas. a dry micro-fiber one for stickered pieces, or the canned air for cleaning inside computers (from a distance!) seems to do the trick as well. -
4 new star destroyers @ 74$ each, down from 149.99, 2 of the headhunters @ 20.00 ea. regular 59.99 (all prices Canadian mind you) . then came home and found out the missus ordered me the slave I for valentines day. super excited!

Couldn't help but chuckle at the geezer part haha. I'd be down with a Ep7 Falcon, it looks like it's changed over the years. if you look closely; the once circular satellite dish that was ripped off by lando while inside by the death star has been replaced by a rectangular, assuringly concave style dish. and i can bet when we get a better look, theres more changes. the new style X wing i imagine will be one of the first sets out IMO. if i may, and (again) IMO; it's the Honda civic of LSW sets. they keep pumping out new ones, and people keep eating them up.

Excellent mods, i'll be looking for inspiration from these when i mod my 2 over Christmas. Big fan of the bodywork you did to it also. but please, PLEASE get started on modding the head/cockpit of it :p the lego designed one is.. well..yeah.
