Obviously life in Austria is too good and these people protesting have a lot of free time in their hands! As someone of Turkish background and a muslim, I am not sure which planet these protestors live in and how they get offended by something that is depicting scenes from an iconic movie. Seriously! Vocal minority idiots should not be taken too seriously! -
Hi all, My attention was brought to the back cover of the latest issue of 'Choice' magazine. Obviously the writers and publishers have never heard of AFOL's Choice: "We are pretty sure most boys over 16 have moved on from Lego..." They are trying to be funny and smart (back cover is to highlight advertising inaccuracies and peculiarities), but I am not sure whether to get annoyed or laugh it off. http://www.choice.com.au/ Cheers, Serkan

Just to let anyone who might be interesting in buying sets for sale here; I've bought some and they arrived in relatively short time to Australia. Me happy Good seller, just FYI Cheers, -
I'll take another photo and put it up. I've got them from an office supplies shop. You'll probably find them online as well. Wow! Morellos & Skafte, I really like your display stands!Very nice designs!

I got out of my dark ages which was over 20 years due to a minifig I saw online! For me, minifigs is the main attraction. Only sets I've bought for the set up to now have been the 3 modular building sets! All of the others were bought for the minifigs. Apart from the modular buildings, I build the new set I buy once, keep it around for a number of weeks, dismantle it and store away the bricks and leave the minifigs as the only part of the set for display purposes! If lego stopped making unique minifigs today, I'll continue collecting the minifigs I do not have and would stop buying sets once I had most minifigs. I'd only need to make purchases from Pick a Brick or BL to get the bricks I want for MOCs.

Hi all, I have been thinking about how to display the collectible minifigs. I've built structures from bricks, kept them on their little stands but nothing seemed to work that well. My brick structure were too cumbersome and the stands made the minifigs too mobile! ie it made them very easy to knock or move them around a lot! Then my partner had an idea and brought me these: Series 1 Series 2 I like them! and love my girl These business card holder have room for all 16 of the figures. There is room for 2x11 stud bricks with half a stud wiggling space on the side! I used yellow bricks for Series 1 because of the yellow packaging and blue for Series 2; makes identifying very easy. Excuse the photo quality, photos taken with my phone with not enough light obviously! What do you think? How do you have yours displayed? Cheers,

G'day, I have no idea but maybe the goods are held at a warehouse elsewhere! As for how he or she could sell it cheaper, if he is a registered business he would be buying it cheaper then retail, at wholesale prices. The reason lego.com sell the sets at their RRP is to ensure they do not undercut the retailers so that retailers can continue to make their profit. That is how any manufacturing business works anyway, so I assume it is same with lego! As for your suspicions, you might be right, but do you really want to waste your time? If something fishy is going on they'll get caught sooner or later!

Welcome! Nice review/interview about the BrickExpo! -
Hi all, I've came out of my dark ages (of 20 years!) less then a year ago and have been surfing the net looking at whats out there and admiring various official sets as well as many awesome MOC's by many people. I'd like to thank all of you who re-ignited my interest, and I also hope to slow down my purchases soon before I decide to sell my car so that I can buy more LEGO I have accumulated enough lego now to have started playing with some ideas and slowly producing a few things that might eventually classify as a MOC Anyway, the thing that has got me thinking was; because I have not been around for long and I've had enormous amount of visual input on how various sets and creations are put together in a short space of time, I believe it is almost impossible for me know when I interlock two bricks together whether it is my original idea or I've seen it done that way somewhere before!!! I have no interest in creating new techniques, being recognized by the online community, or compete to be the best of the best! I just want to enjoy creating with LEGO!!! However I'd like to be able to put photos of my MOCs on to net for my friends to have a look and give me pointers. At the same time, I do not really want some smart alec to comment that it is "not original" and "it has been done before!!!" That type of comment I seem to see a lot around the place!!! Don't get me wrong when I am positively inspired by a creation and if I copy certain parts knowingly, I'd be giving grateful credit to my inspiration! My worry is that how am I suppose to identify the collective inspiration I've been getting? Should I be surfing the net for 6 months after I complete a MOC, just to check I have not inadvertently copied elements of someone elses MOC? Am I worrying about nothing? Cheers,

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
BrickTango replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What people forget about is that these minifigs are designed for the kids! Not many kids would have LEGO from nineties or even from early 2000's! Even people like myself who have recently come out of their Dark Ages don't have much of any theme or minifig! So a series covering a balance of old and new is a very good business strategy I believe! Besides you can never have too many minifigs!!! -
There are a few photos up at: BrickExpo flickr page More photos will be added shortly; I got told!

I'd say BrickExpo was a huge success!!! I had to wait in line for over an hour to get in! But it was well worth it. Big thank you to all the people who organised, volunteered and exhibited! I overheard many people commenting (even little kids!) how it was worth waiting in the queue for! BrickExpo queue infront of me!!! BrickExpo queue behind me!!!! I'd say it was a successful event!

Not too long to go!

Thank you! I am spending more time here than I should!!! Cheers! Thank you! I live in Canberra so attending is a must! I got the Green Grocer, Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium. I have dark hair, a goatie and will probably spend a lot of time taking photos of the displays with my iphone. Say hi if you notice an idiot with glasses with an iphone in his hand clicking away!!! Thanks WhiteFang, my best mate lives in Singapore. I hope to visit him at some stage, I'll ask you where it would be good to visit LEGO vise closer to the time! Cheers Milan Thank you!

Hi all, I have recently came out of my Dark Ages (apparently that's what it is called!!!). As the story is with most I have had some great lego sets while growing up. The two that sticks in my mind are the Yellow Castle and a factory themed set that had the earlier minifigs with solid legs, the set had a crane in it I think!!! Wonder what set number that is? Anyway a little while back when I was surfing the net I came across a SW minifig in one of the auction sites and bid for it and won! BIG mistake!!! Fast forward (less than a year!) I have hundreds of minifigs from all different themes, new sets coming out of my ears plus a couple of bulk lots!!! Recently got 3 of the modular buildings too!!! I do not have a favourite theme as yet. I am going to continue collecting minifigs and start working on a couple of modular building MOCs to go with the three sets I got!!! By the way how is MOC pronounced? Is it M-O-C or 'mok'? I have no idea!!! I'll be at the BrickExpo this Sunday in Canberra. That's pretty much sums it up, Cheers,

Welcome! (Can newbies say that?) Maybe I'll see you at the BrickExpo Cheers,

Artanis I; I bought two lots from S@H recently. An Order I submitted I received in 10 days. Another order I am waiting, it has been 15 days so far (but it has PAB in it which takes longer!), I got "shipped" notice couple of days ago so should receive it soon. Interestingly the parcel I received before was shipped from Singapore! Cheers,
