Thanks for this; it appears that the dimensions on Bricklink for those rims are way innacurate (it says 49.6mm). Need to find some other rim that will fit :P The problem I see is the bead size of the lunchbox tyres, it's 5.35mm, which seems way too wide for lego rims (which I think take somewhere between 1 and 2mm bead maximum). I could trim the internal diameter down a bit, but trimming the bid width down would be difficult I think. Unless anyone has any reccomendations for other 3rd party monster truck tyres that may fit a Lego rim? I'm after something that looks like the real deal (i.e. a really wide tire with a comparatively small rim size and chevron tread pattern). Before anyone mentions power puller tyres, they only satisfy the first of my criteria :P

Has anyone got some 6595 and 22253 rims on which they could do some accurate measurements (you'll probably need a set of calipers, but at a push a ruler might do it) for me? I'm trying to see if I can shoehorn some Tamiya Lunchbox (3rd party) tyres onto them; I'd need to use 2 hubs per tyre so that's a total of 8 hubs and 4 tyres that I don't want to pay for if they're not going to fit! I need the diameters of: The smaller outer rim The larger outer rim on the other side The inner rim The groove that the tyre sits in To the nearest 0.5mm would do. If it looks positive, I'll buy everything and if they fit I will report back; it would mean that we could all have realistic looking monster truck tyres without having to fork out for power puller tyres :) Thanks

Yeah I discovered the cone, hoping it's big enough :) If it's not I can always throw a couple of 47543's underneath it. The canopy you suggested is way too small though. The only thing lego do (that I can find) which seems to be the right size is part #2409...which seems to be VERY difficult to find in black (maybe they never made it in black?). And it's not entirely the smooth curve I was hoping for...and it would be a challenge to try and mount it at 45 degrees (a la set 6989). At this point in time I'm considering cutting a piece out of a black Tango bottle if I can't find a usable part :P I was hoping to stick to official parts though...

Starting to think I might be better off creating the nozzle myself from smaller parts - a google image search turned up some interesting ideas for that. Still looking for a way to achieve a smooth, solid canopy though.

Hi I'm new to the forum, and have recently discovered Technic again (I'm 31 years old now...there's always been a frustrated engineer in me that loves building stuff). I'm half way into building something based on a vehicle from a game called Motor Rock - see here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=202137083 But I'm struggling to find something suitable to use for the main jet nozzle at the back. Can anyone reccommend anything? Ideally I'd like to use a lego part, but if push comes to shove, I'm not a purist and don't mind using something else. And also anything that I could make the cockpit canopy from...I suspect lego don't do anything like that, and although I could attempt to make it out of the technic panels and fairings, it's not going to look like a blacked out window (which is the idea). To give you an idea of scale I'm using the track links that come with the current excavator set (I reckon I'll end up using about 100 links or so per track), so it's going to be a fairly large vehicle. Can anyone think of any parts that might be relevant to my needs? I've trawled through BaseBrick.com to try and find something, but I'm running out of search terms to try. Thanks in advance.
