A complaint about the new SW sets
Dr.Butcher replied to ThatGuyWithTheBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
just look at the Death Star set and you can see how creativity retarding the Star Wars-series is. I do like the new SW sets (I'm a fan of the OT), Darth Vader's new TIE Fighter is very good looking and even the Slave 1 is a great set with amazing and very detailed figures. The Landspeeder has a great amount of minifigs, a great plus, the color of the speeder itself is a bit off but it's ok. The prices are a bit higher compared to other sets, but in the end it's a point of view and kind of a cost-benefit ratio. If you like the movies and grew up with them the prices are more acceptable btw: I'm very excited about the USC-Shuttle. -
I bought two speederbikes today, each for 1,50 € (~1,88 USD) in a toyshop in Austria. The bike itself looks kind of silly and of course a Scouttrooper would be more appropriate but the Stormtrooper you get instead is great (and you also get these binoculars). For this price I don't have much to complain. Good review btw.

thanks If you want to take the car apart, sure the stickers will be a problem. But finally that's the only way to give the car an accurate look. I don't have that issue with the boot, on my set everything works fine.

imo C-3PO is one of the best looking minifigs. I can't imagine him with prited eyes, he looks fine the way he is. Thanks for the picture.

For the Slave 1-minifigures I can say that the printing is fine, everything is in it's place and especially Boba Fett is very detailed. This will be a very expensive summer/fall: the USC-Shuttle and I'm planning to get the Death Star (the one with the minifigures) and maybe I also buy the Tower Bridge (this set sounds amazing), so in all likelihood I'll leave out the AT-AT.

looks good to me. yeah, and there's the driver
-
never I presumed that there's no driver because of the posted photos. What a relieve
-
nice But is there really no driver in the AT-AT set? I hoped for a more accurate set, since I don't have the old ones. I probably will wait for the first reviews and decide then. The Slave 1 is a great set, especially Han Solo in Carbonite looks very good. Worth buying.

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Dr.Butcher replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Impressive. And a very nice arrangement too. Since when do you collect? -
Is there any news about the new AT-AT?

thanks The headlights are looking pretty good, I just saw the other Lamborghini on pictures but compared to the stickers the bricks are imho much better. A really big Lamborghini (kind of a UCS) would be great.

That's my first review, so don't be too harsh I bought the Lamborghini for 61,27 € (~ 75 USD) on amazon.fr, the set contains 801 pieces which means 0,076 € (~0,093 USD) per piece. But probably it can be found also cheaper. Front: Back: The instructions and the sticker sheet. There are many stickers but they give a great amount of detail to the car. Random pages of the instruction-booklets: Every bag is numbered – a great help. The silvery parts for the exhaust pipes. Building in progress (actuallly the pics are a little bit too bright, in reality the blue is darker, sorry): The remaining pieces: Complete car: The officer is posing with is new car: Final thoughts: I spent 2 hours and 40 minutes putting it together. One piece was missing, I don't know if it wasn't included or I lost it, but since it is a very common one I think i can replace it. In my opinion the age rating (9 years) is too low, there could be some very tricky parts for little children, especially with the stickers they could have problems. If a kid wants to build this car it definitely needs help from an older person. The doors, the engine hood and the trunk can be opened. In the trunk there's a extinguisher and a box for the transport of vitals (there are some of these round Lego pieces in the colors red and clear in it, a bit macabre ), in the cockpit is a radio, a speed camera and a traffic paddle. Behind the seats (it’s possible to bend them) is a defibrillator and a red piece which I don’t know what it’s meant to be. The Lamborghini is very detailed, and the playability is good, since the car is stable, the only negative thing: it's not possible to steer the frontwheels. The build was fun, and since the bags are numbered not too complicated. Overall the car is a great set for display. Just he cockpit could need a little improvement with an extra sticker regarding the tachometer. But overall a very good set, worth buying. I give it a 9 out of 10.

my real name is Martin, I'm 24 years old (born in 1986) and I live in South Tyrol, which is in Italy, my mother tongue isn't italian (but I do know the language), but german. My other hobbies are internet, PC-games, books, and movies. btw: my nickname is reference to a trashy italian horrormovie. and now to my Lego-story: as a child I liked Lego very much, I a had a collection - mostly City-related. As I grew older my interest in Lego faded - until I saw a Lego-Technic Ferrari, I was very impressed by the model, but I was kind of unsure if I should buy it or not, becaus it was very pricy. I didn't took long and the Ferrari was out of print. So I missed the Ferrari, and I tried to find another Technic-model. But I didn't find one that was attractive to me. I wanted Technic because I thought the normal Lego-series would be to childish for me. I definitely was wrong. I looked in every Toyshop for interesting sets, and a few weeks ago I found Darth Vader's TIE-Fighter and I was realy impressed, so I had to buy it. Finally I discovered the huge Millenium Falcon, and this was the beginning of a new hobby. having said this: greetings to everyone
