  1. I always build on scale (wherever possible) I build european trains. Passenger coaches are 3m x 26.4m (10ft x 88ft) Lego scale 6x52 studs. Bigger is impossible because they can't go thru the curves. The biggest problem is the size of the lego wheels. They are way to large in comparisson with the 1 stud = 0.5m (1.67ft). So you get funny flat cars with big wheels or you have to increase the height of the coach with 1/3. This makes the front of the coach to high to the width. Creating long and small coaches (which is standard for lego cars) So the ideal way to build (my opinion) is 1 stud = 0.5m for the length of the trians and 8 studs width (6 studs base + 1/3 correction from the increased height)
  2. Very usefull stuff. Thanks for sharing Peter
  3. An color fill error happens if you put a tap (4599) into a 1x1 brick or 1x1 plate, but not in a 1x1 tile. The free space around the round part of the tap is filled with the color of the brick Fine grid needed!. I want to use taps and other elements to create unusual snot constructions. But the grid that is used to move the element is not fine enough. The snot element ends to high (leaving a gap) or to low and it would not fit. This is not a real error, but it limits the building possibilities with legal constructions
  4. In the Edit menu is an option rotate>keyboard entry>use rotation vector values. Here you can rotate in 3 dimensions by entering a digit. Select an axle on which you want to rotate (make that 0 a 1) and give a angle. At least 0.1 degree is possible. If you select more than one axle, you rotate over more than one axle at once.
  5. That's my mistake. I thought I had them all fixed, but I seems to have forgotten the ones with the invisible surface. Peter If you follow these rules, the roof on step 4 will not fit if you fold the houses together. I sticks out of the boundry on the backside. So the wedges will have to be replaced by bricks or something else.
  6. Thanks for the complement. Normaly more is possible with constructions inside the building, if only the outside counts, but this was not the case. I wanted to add a fireplace on the first floor, but I ran out of bricks. It was fun to build this one. Peter
  7. Hi, I'm done. Here is my addition to the MOC Turn 3 Hope you like it. I used a lot of small pieces, so it is not cost effective, but its LDD, so nothing to worry about. Peter
  8. Can you give some more details. Operation system LPub version Location LPub, Ldraw on drive Is LDview installed & selected (see preferences in LPUB)
  9. No looked for a glass that fit the 6154. And it seems that it doesn't existed. Mayby there were plans for it, and they created the element with holes, just in case Peter
  10. You can find the mpd (MLCAD file) here 6980.mpd
  11. Great MOC. Large one. Definitly front page material
  12. Such MOC's makes you want to drop all you are doing and start building.
  13. Can't wait for update 6. Nice build.
  14. The use of paper to make the curve is original. Give a wonderfull effect.
  15. I don't know a set in which this is used. Normaly the brick 6056 (brick 2x2x6 with groove) is used in all the castle sets. But this has the same problem, it will not fit. As soon as the 6046 slides below the top part of 30272, it gets disconnected. Physical the 6056 is a pile of 4216 stacked on each other. Probably is has to do with the shape. The 30272 has a circular shaped groove, equal to the 6046. All the other bricks have a square shaped groove, so it could be considered as a loose connection.
  16. The edges of the 1x1 bricks in front are unnatural white. The white bricks on the left have a strong reflexion on the ground. This is also the problem with POVray in standard renderings. Can be changed in POVray.
  17. Maybe an idea. Create an zip or rar file and make this available to the public, so you can download all the files at once. Or create theme files (city, trains, space, ...)
  18. Strange problem. Never had any problem with this. Seems to be a windows problem and not MLCad.
  19. There are 3 ways: - select one brick, hold the shift key and select an other one. MLCad creates a square around the selected bricks. No extra bricks in the square can be selected. If you use more than one view you can select bricks hidden under other bricks - place your mouse arrow outside the wanted selection. Hold the left mouse button and move the mouse. All visible bricks in the selected square are selected. - in the top part of the screen, you see the parts with positions, etc. You can click on a brick and use the shift or ctrl key to add more bricks to your selection. In all cases the first brick you select will be the rotation point
  20. I have searched, but not fount any official set in witch this is used. So it is possible "illegal" according TLC
  21. Element 3834 Mini battle axe does not connect with - 3794 plate 1x2 with one knob - 42446 mini fig back plate. - 45917 skate board - 87580 plate 2x2 with 1 knob - 4589 cone 1x1 only at the top, not deeper or through There are no problems with other elements as 4070 brick 1x1 headlight, 4733 bricks 1x1 with 4 studs on side
  22. The same happens with the element 42446 (minifig back plate with knob) when you put some other elements on the knob: - tile 1x1 element 3070, but not with any other tile or plate 1x1 - standard 4095 but only with non transparent colors !? Some errors seems to be color-transparent related. Boundry error with element 52107 brick 1x2 with 4 studs on side You can insert bars 4095, 63965, ... into the 52107 brick but not through it. Is is as if the brick is solid inside, although you can see trough the holes.
  23. 1) seems to be a bug in the system. It should be possible 2) the problem is both with the 32187 and the 42610 element. The 3647 gear wheel fits with real lego inside the 32187 & 42610. In LDD the 3647 go a little into the 32187 and not into the 42610. This is also a boundry error to report.
  24. This problem gets bigger with each update. Most of the pieces are in MLCad, not all in the offcial part list, but TLC uses newer molds with different design numbers for older parts. In Ldraw there is only the old number. It can be fixed by adding the parts in the parts directory, or make a copy of the old part number and rename it to the new number. With new pieces, it is likely that they don't yet are in Ldraw.
  25. I have no problem at all. Everything seems to fit into the monkey's hands. Not at first when you place the monkey at your screen. The hands are tilted approx 45°, so nothing seems to fit. When you rotate a arm for a couple degrees, it will fit. Try to level the hand horizontal or vertical. There is no set in which the monkey's tail is clipped, as for as I know. It hangs into palmtrees, but not fixed.
