  1. Well, I have a LEGO Plush minifigure, and I absolutely adore the little thing (I call him George). I decided to enter the Avant-Garde contest on BricksinMotion (which I have not even animated, I"m pulling from the contest due to time constraints ). I wanted to have my plush be in the movie, but alas, he cannot be directed as I wished, so I made him into LEGO!! He is completely movable, and with some tips from David Pagano (he has done the Space Police III vlogs on LEGO.com and numerous shorts, one I found on YouTube) he allowed me to take the basic skeleton around his figures for a brickfilm, and let me create my giant minifigure. A close up: His legs, feet and hands: The back: George showing some posability in his arm: HE captured the poor maiden!!! Oh no!! Crush the evil Megablock Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger Ninja!! (No idea how I know that...) George and George II (ignore the Wizard's First Rule book holding George up): Brickshelf Folder when public Anyway, I like George II, but he had to be slightly altered just for brickfilming purposes (i.e. his feet). I also ran out of yellow bricks so he couldn't have the stud on his head. Enjoy, and Comments & Criticism is welcome!! Now on George II!!! Take over the LEGO City for me!!
  2. How about 20?? Anyway, I picked up King's Castle Thursday, and I love it! It's smaller than I expected, but taller than I expected. I'm hoping to pick up a second eventually to make it bigger, but I can't decide on making it taller, or keeping it at the same height but with a bigger base.
  3. well the sets I know I own are Citadel of Orlan, and most of that first wave, one Ninja set, 3 or 4 Fantasy sets, and mixed pieces from other castle sets. I've actually really wanted Vladek's Dark Fortress and all it's glory, and all the other great Classic Castles, but alas, I don't have the money right now.. would you like to make a donation of some sets? Like before, i want ALL of the old castles, the new one, and a great building experience. So, I think you've finally reconvinced me to buy King's castle. Thanks!
  4. I think that Action Themes are definitely more "extreme". I don't have any of the old sets, but I have looked at them on Brickset, and they are more "classical" and have more of a "Towny" feel to them. But as the world changes, many things do, too. Like what Capt.JohnPaul said, a lot of kids (and by kids, I mean 10 years old and younger) are playing more and more violent games, i.e. HALO, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Left 4 Dead, etc. The children are being "desensitized" as all they do are violent videogames, and when real bad things do happen, they either don't care, or think "oh, darn (or swear word of their choice from any of the games I've mentioned...) I wish that could happen in (insert game title)..." While I do like violent games, they need to have some educational/moral value (rescue hostages, take out terrorists, etc.), minimal swearing, and be fun. Maybe that's why I play Rainbow Six: Raven Shield. but with all the violence that happens nowadays, LEGO has to adjust to their environment. I know LEGO has a "no violence" policy, they do imply it with their Action themes, like Agents, Alpha Team, Rock raiders, etc. But one thing that I am very happy with is that they still allow imagination to run in their new themes. Yeah, sure LEGO may give some figures names, but they still allow kids to change up the story and use their imagination. Well, of course with kids "imagination" that they have (which I see very little of nowadays, in kids, teenagers, and adults all around me) they still find ways to incorporate their violent video games into the story. I just can't wait to hear a little 4 year old playing with an Agents, World Racers, or some other theme's car and decide to play "Grand Theft Auto IV" and shoot the Agents members... that'll make headlines, and I'll be depressed that this kid plays those games. So yes, LEGO Action Themes are more extreme, but they are not bad. I like these newer themes, anyway. Just sayin' that's my 2 cents.
  5. ok, the new LCVP you've made looks much better. There's better holding capacity, but I don't think it's called a "cockpit" on a ship. It's a helm, er, well I think for a military vehicle like the LCVP. But the design is definitely an improvement... all you need is more!
  6. We can only hope, right? and blueandwhite, the only "Castle" I own is the Citadel of Orlan from KKII. I have many knights, and some towers and siege equipment, but I've never had a true "castle". Maybe that's why I'm slightly picky with this set, as I am really interested in a challenging build.
  7. metalandi, I just looked at the images on the LEGO shop website, and they do look stunning. Maybe I was thrown off because of the angle used in the LEGO Shop Magazine catalog I received recently. And about the scheme, I prefer the Dragon Knights over the Lion Knights. I just would rather have a nice big castle for the Dragon Knights in their color scheme instead of one for the Lion Knights. Sort of like how LEGO released a castle for Vladek instead of giving one to the Jelly Belly Patrol. Well, I guess that's what Bricklink is for!! Shroffy123, i didn't mean to say the build was <insert that tiresome argument>, but more with those wall pieces and not many system bricks if it seemed to be <insert that tiresome argument>. And how is the building experience? Is it challenging or more laid back and easy, but a long process? I've been building LEGO for years and I'm pretty experienced.
  8. Hey, that's a cheap shot!! Not ALL of us are war-mongers.... I just like big explosions... and watching violent movies like The Kingdom.... Oh, you're going to have to tutor me then Joey on WWII history. I've never really studied it, but I can pick it up pretty efficiently. I know only some of the battles that didn't involve American forces... let's have tea time over it! Anyway, Omaha was pretty epic, and either do a short small MOC on it, or go all out like Armedariz is doing. We looked at Vietnam as a chess board, not a Go-board like the Vietnamese were doing. The two are very different. But hey, it was the Cold War, it was better to be dead than Red... we we're slightly paranoid... but maybe it paid off since the Russians are spying on us again!! But I'm sure there are CIA agents doing the same over in the Kremlin. And we didn't use nukes in Laos... we just used natives and dropped more bombs than Allies and axis did together in WWII!! Too bad that people aren't helping the Hmong out now tho...
  9. Maybe it's just me, and I really want King's castle, but does it look like it's Duplo to anyone? It just seems like one solid color of gray with some red thrown in. With not too many pieces making the walls on the sides, they seem really babyish, IMHO. Maybe since I prefer the Dragon Knights, and I think their colors of dark green and dark gray look better and they should control the castle. Does anybody agree with me on this?
  10. Use a nuke? All you need is one man and a big red button... Anyway, Keep working on the MOC, and you definitely need to spend some money to make it epic. And I swear, you and Joey are becoming best pals on here!
  11. Oh man, I didn't make it! Oh well, I still can't wait to follow this game!! sandy, I think this will be a Mafia game to remember. I do actually like this way of filling out an "application" to join a game ( when based off of a franchise) to see who is really into it. Good luck, Sandy!!
  12. I'm planning on waiting until July 6th (pretty exact date ) I'm getting myself a set as a reward for all th pain I've endured with my braces... Anyway, I can wait that long, and I've been wanting to see them side by side, so thanks! I have originally been leaning towards King's Castle, but only because it would be my first "true" castle. I've had Citadel of Orlan and many knights, but never a true castle. But I do love the figs in both sets (especially Dragon Knights and all in Battle of Alamut). Everyone so far has said Battle of Alamut, though.
  13. Don't what, Norro? No target practice or not use them? I'm slightly confused.
  14. Reposted from my thread: I'm planning on picking up either 7946 King's Castle from the new Kingdoms line or the 7573 Battle of Alamut in PoP. I have no idea because I want both badly! I'm willing to spend the extra $20USD for King's Castle. ANy help and suggestions?
  15. ok, should I repost my question in there or merge the two (which I know a mod would do)? and thanks for the suggestion so far!
  16. ... how about target practice? There's six catapults in the new Kingdoms line, 7 archers, 8 spearmen, and 2 portcullises... a lot of target practice...
  17. Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm planning on picking up either 7946 King's Castle from the new Kingdoms line or the 7573 Battle of Alamut in PoP. I have no idea because I want both badly! I'm willing to spend the extra $20USD for King's Castle. ANy help and suggestions?
  18. That's really awesome, benny. I love all the little designs and details you have! Now you made me hungry. Wonderful job!
  19. Well, the Sword of Truth novels are where you either love 'em or hate 'em. I love the series, but I thought the TV show, Legend of the Seeker, didn't do it justice. One thing though I did like was the wardrobe, and I decided it was time to make some decals. I only have one done, a D'haran captain. I'm planning on doing lots of others though. I would definitely love some constructive criticism, while even though these aren't my first custom decals, I'm not at the levels of you guys yet. Enjoy!!
  20. My friend went there! (I asked my friend to say hi to Emma for me ) How was it? I can't wait for the Mafia game!
  21. Sorry Peppermint M, I actually like the minifigures. Siegfried, I had no idea there were so many! I only knew about the overall one, and the construction worker. If I head over to LEGOLAND, I'm definitely picking up at least one. I like them so much, I made a replica out of Technic and System bricks for a brickfilm!!
  22. Does anybody here have LEGO Plush? I have one in the shape of a minifigure, overalls and white sleeves. I also have an elephant one. Are there any more? And why are they not sold online, but at LEGOLAND?
  23. Oh, this so cool! Bonaparte, you lost (which is sort of sad) on the day a website you're an administrator of has 10,000 members!!
  24. oh, sweet, you did mine. Thanks, Joey!
  25. The list he made or the entry? And yes, CBH, My firing squad took you out and you will fall into a shark...
