Ok, I've been working on the ship a bit more, but I can't get the stern right. i'm rying to build around the old one. Any help? Here's what I have so far: Thanks, Captain Becker. And that stinks about the LU mode, but brick-built ships always look really stunning.

First of all, finally, another sensible person! Maybe we can drink rum once she's finished... well, I don't drink, or even like soda! For the cabin, I know they were slightly cramped, but just for the ease of playability, brickfilming, my sig fig liking a nice big room, etc., I'm not taking your advice on that. And as for the bulge, I thought about adding it in, but With how I was having trouble building around the missing stern, I thought to not add it for the sake of simplicity. Also, I've worked on it ALL day, and I've already started an are above that cabin, and it's coming alonfg so well, the bulge isn't an option anymore. And I have seen some ships without the bulge. And for the ladder, how would i add those in to make it slope? I tried to do it, but I couldn't seem to find out how. And for the gunports, I know 3 is better, but I like more cannons. she looks more fearsome, and so all the Bluecoats shall tremble in fear when they see the HMS Artemis coming towards them! And I'm still debating on whether brick-built cannons or official cannons are the way to go, and that's not even considering a crew for the cost. And LDD does have the mid-sections, just in LEGO Universe mode. they also have the Viking bow/stern piece, but niether the old pirate bows and sterns, nor the new ones. And General Redwater, those white doors are the only color they come in, so otherwise they won't change, unless you can find me some in black or yellow! I've been working on the ship all day, as i said, and she is getting a bit to close for comfort to being finished!! Thanks for all the comments, everybody and believe me, she is going to look great!

Nice job, General Redwater!! You were blogged and made it to the next round! Beat up those Bluecoats!!

Sorry for the double post, but UPDATE: Here's a shot of the stern so far: Another: A third: The back has been sloped, so far. And here's leading to the next gundeck: I still need to do that grate, or else I can't finish the next gundeck.... my brother (Capt.JohnPaul) says "Of course! That's some ingenious redcoat thinking! Stairs leading to a pit!"..... well I say, "Well, with that grate over it, that's where the little Bluecoats stay after we capture them!" Comments are more than welcome.

Well, Admiral Croissant, I might not even buy the cannons at all, and brick build them. But this isn't a "buy at once" sort of ship. This will take a few months at the least. But remember, donations! Here's some more pics (you guys must be thinking I'm crazy for making all these updates within a few hours). Here's how she looks with two gun decks' height. Does it look a little weird with the slope, then straight, then slope again? My least favorite part so far is the ladder. I can't get it right. And this might be a better question for Perfectionist, but how do I make that grate slide into the hole?

Thanks, Tycho! And here's what I'm expecting the sides to look like: Those pieces aren't going to be red, but they're just there to show how they'll fit on. There's that flt plate so The top decks can come off with ease, and the parts at the bottom are two 1x2 plates and a flat 1x2 plate. This will make the sides removable for "play", display, brickflicks, etc. I do like the cannon though, instead of making my own, but that all is money, the official cannons. You sure you can't donate?

Well, I've finally started on another ship, the HMS Artemis. And no, it's not based on the real one the Royal Navy used. I'm planning on having a 24 or so amount of cannons for each broadside, with two gundecks, and a third deck as the top. I still can't decide on what kind of cannons I should use, custom of official. Here's some shots so far. Here, I added another hull piece: If anybody would like to help make the HMS Artemis a reality, just shoot me a PM with what you would like to donate! I would greatly enjoy feedback!

oh, ok. That's a good estimate. Sorry if the question wasn't good though. -
Voting Tournament of Retribution Voting
KotZ replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
ok, here are mine: 1 vote: capt.JohnPaul 1 vote: Kerntechniker 1 vote: Fugazi 1 vote: General Redwater 1 vote: ZCerberus 1 vote: Captain Blue Hair 1 vote: The Inventor -
You're right that nobody said it was democratic, but you're wrong. Have you noticed how Commodore Hornbricker opened this thread? So if anyone gets two votes, it's the Redcoats, or Hornbricker. And Bluecoats are not superior. I mean, whoever told you that lie was being nice, but it's just that, a lie. It ain't gonna happen. First Rule!!!
-
I'm just asking. Besides, it's a democratic vote. Don't you think the President of the United States votes for himself, or for his opponent? Wouldn't I be able to vote for myself? "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding on what to eat."
-
I think that's the most magnificent display I've ever seen! All those knights just make me giddy! I have to see that in person, if you guys make it again.
-
Patience, Oky Wan. The Force will be with you, always. Just relax, it'll happen very soon..... oh wait, you're a Bluecoat so you don't know the meaning of patience! But yeah, where is the voting thread... and are we allowed to vote for ourselves?

Chivalrous Knight or Famous Gunslinger?
KotZ replied to Khorne's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
ok, if I may, can I ask a question? Whatever happened to the old EBRP? Why is it not played anymore? -
How about two of each set??? Just to make sure there is no turncoat by you, hmm??? And no, we are not the Dark Side... our uniforms are just red because of all the Bluecoat blood we collect on the high seas, and in this contest! But anyway, join us, we have better weapons, uniforms, ships, forts, games where we shoot people in barrels, beard-growing contests, and more jars to put heads in... and, wait, what is that I see? that is not me!! That's a generic face! I knew I was a lucky man to have a loyal bodyguard to send into the fray as me! He may have a nice, happy face like me, but all he is doing is smiling. I am smirking, for I am planning on what I'm doing to Bluecoats... so see, it's much better you join us so i don't have to smirk on killing you! Please, we have shinier uniforms...
-
ok, thanks for all the help guys! I'm probably going yellow and black, or white and black with red gunports.... I guess this means it's time to flip a coin...
-
I don't know if I should be happy that I was in your comic, or be sad... I knew I was going to regret allowing myself to be used!! But hey, I died well. I had a cameo, and only to late into the battle did you Bluecoats see that I was able to sneak in and begin to destroy your army from the inside out!! And is war all you Bluecoats know? If you were even able to comprehend us Redcoats' greatness, you would realize that other methods of torture, such as fish slapping and vegetable throwing, and music used by my ally, Emperor Claudius Rome, are much better, and more destructive! Who cares if you have futuristic weapons, we've got guitar strings, Jar Jar, and whales!! But you would make a fine ally for the Redcoats next year, if you survive that is... how much gold and doubloons would you like to be with us?
-
Really? aw, sweet. That's cool! Thanks, even though you are a pathetic little Bluecoat
-
ok, I think I get it then. The stripes are where the ports are, correct? Sorry, I'm not the greatest at ship terminology. And before I forget, what is the big "crank" that is found on ships, like on the bow? what does it do? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4308776

I know that yellow and black are on the famous, HMS Victory, black and white are always for Americans, but what goes for France, and other British ships? I can't decide on a color scheme.

WIP: Achille and Guerrière, French Frigates of 28 guns
KotZ replied to BrickPerfection's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wow, Perfrectionist... that's all I can say. I absolutely this frigate!! She's so beautiful, and I can't stop staring at her!! I love that interior! it's really nice to see where you started with the ship, and where you ended up. You need to make another oh, if I may, how much did it cost to make one? 4800 pieces is a lot of pieces. -
I'm still so confused. Piratedave84 and Superkalle, I think those will help. Mister Phes, yeah, it's only parts currently manufactured. Captain Becker, I like the ship, but the stern (hull area) looks a little flat, and not rounded like in the piece I'm looking for. The front looks great though!! Ok, I guess it's time for experimentation.
-
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I'm trying to build a ship in LDD, but since LDD doesn't allow the old hulls in regular mode or in LU mode, how would I design my ship around the missing pieces?

Have Action Themes Become Extreme?
KotZ replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
For me, I prefer Agents, Adventurers/Orient Expedition, and Alpha Team. Agents and Alpha Team were more of the same, but they still were a load of fun, to me. Alpha Team was just your straight up action fights with interesting vehicles, but Agents soared. They had a tongue-in-cheek style with their vehicles and buildings, and a lot of references to 007. BreakJaw= Jaws?? Inferno=Blofeld?? Sharks= Austin Powers????..... i know many have pointed out these references, but I felt the need to. Adventurers allowed kids to "see the world" and go on different "adventurers" and was really based in history. Just look at the structures, or the Marco Polo idea for OE. -
He's not strange, Forresto, he's just different!! I'm glad you liked him!!
