  1. I tried it a few times and it closed down for no reason. Tried it again just yet and it worked fine. No idea why. Forgot you can switch themes. Cheers for reminding!
  2. It appears that LDD crashes after trying to move a 6x8 grid composed of 1x1 flat tiles. Haven't tried if it does so too with other combinations. For the rest, I really like the new colour palette. I hated the previous one as it kept closing while I was trying to pick black or light grey. More flexible tubes are a plus too. On a side note. You need to import your old models in a new LDD Extended or otherwise you won't have the newer bricks.
  3. I tried this not so long ago but the biggest problem I come across is to connect both sides in the end. It should be possible but it'll require a lot of hinging around. Only advice I can really give is to rotate pieces with your mouse trough the hinge wheel. Then try to go back and forth with the wheel till the brick sort of "snaps" as close as possible as you want it. Would like to hear from someone who knows an easier way also.
  4. Hello, This is my creation for the LDD contest. It's based on a farm house of the alliance faction in Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos. The roof can be opened somewhat as easy as a happymeal to access the interior. All you need to do is move the shimney up and then move the roof down, the other side will go down without any steps. Brick count is ~1083 with no minifigures. After I was done I scanned it using the LDD Manager to see if every brick was available. Some 2x".." brown brick was not available in that color. But I couldn't find that brick anymore and added it double to the total bricks since it was available in half the size. The interior has some cupboards, a fireplace, a rug, a bed, a painting on the wall, some barrels, a mug table, a desk, chair. There's also a small overhead with a ladder, sort of attic for storage. It has been ages since I build anything with lego (that is finished atleast..) but it was a great challange and I hope you enjoy it. Pictures: Front and right side view with roofwindow. Back and left side with shimney. Top interior view. .lxf file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Solidbrick/WC3Farm/wc3house.lxf
  5. I would like to see these pirate ship parts be included. 64645 64651 47404 And this flame/head decoration piece: 64647 thanks.
  6. The reason I covered the tops with plates was otherwise it wouldn't be the right height (3 bricks). My first attempt I didn't covered the tops with plates but that left me with using costum piece to replace 2449 inverted slope. Which didn't look so great. But to compensate that I had to heighten the edges by 1 plate. Fortunatly it doesn't look bad in the LDD. So in the end I went for functionality over looks.
  7. Copied from my topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42599 2552px6 groundplate (lxf) http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2552px6 6024px2 groundplate (lxf) http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/6024px2 Building proof made. Image Image Temporary download link till I find another host here: http://rapidshare.com/files/395234354/Models.7z.html Pro's: So far after building a few sets on them I could place everything as in the instructions. No need to swap pieces for offset creations. No longer need to worry about the groundplate. Just start building on it! Easy to recolor with the color selection tool to any color you like. Con's: Takes up quite a few extra pieces and there could be some flaws. (I don't own them but build it based on topside and instruction book pictures!) Does not come with printed rocks on the side! Enjoy
  8. Hi, I've been building a lot of castles and ports over the few days. But since the LDD doesn't have any other groundplates other then the flat ones I decided to make my own. I don't own any of them in Lego so it took me a good few tries to find out what the look like from all angles. (Using building instructions and top view pictures as reference) So far there were no problems while building anything. Everything fit on it nicely without a problem that I couldn't place a brick. You can use the select color tool to easily change the ground, rock and lowered middle in plate 2 to any color you like. Groundplate 1 pictures: Groundplate 2 Won't work in LDD Does work for the plates Castle set 6086 build on plate 2 Now I'm working on the groundplate for the castle set 6090 and will soon update this post including it. Hope you like it. Download link on rapidshare (can't upload it here?) http://rapidshare.com/files/395234354/Models.7z.html Let me know when the download limit is reached and I will upload it again.
