I'll have to watch out for that. Obadiah Stane must be spinning in his grave. However, Batman and Robin can be watched once (and only once) without dying of embarrassment. It's not as bad as some films. As for the Marvel films, I'll be honest, I'm more of a DC fan like BB2. However, I'll gladly watch the Marvel films, as any comicbook film is worth checking out. In fact, just the other day I picked up Hellboy, Ghost Rider and Punisher for £6. I actually didn't think either of the FF films were that bad. But this year's Iron Man and Hulk were both great, good films and true to the source.

Cheers theriddler. Clayface messing around is great, I laughed so much at that. Not sure who to feel more sorry for... Peyton "Sugar" Riley. Shame really, I always like Wesker.

Hmm... I've not got Sunstreaker or Prowl yet. Are they TRU exclusives or are they just not out anywhere else? Oh, you might as well. We'll be asked to remove it soon enough. I don't think Megs has got the "in disguise" bit quite right though. Quick question, btw: Who's Megatroon? I picked up TFA Jazz yesterday from Asda, on your recommendations. He's pretty nice. I think I prefer Prowl, but Jazz is pretty cool. In related news, some new pictures of next year's offerings have surfaced here. Not too sure what Classics Starscream is doing there, but otherwise it's a pretty nice bag. Still not sure about Cheetor, but TFA Blurr, Hound, Inferno and the Legends Minibots (Brawn especially) all look great.

Arrived home today to find that my mum had cleaned my window while I was out at college. Now, fair enough, it needed doing. The first problem: I don't like people in my room. I moved everything back to where it should have been, and I got over it. Trouble is, that leads me into the second problem: at one point, she'd knocked my Lego drawers a little, sending a few of the drawers into a collision with my desk. I keep finding pieces as I move things.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Brainbox replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
In fact... what list? I agree. They were nice sets, well built and lots of yellow. I believe yo forgot to talk about the new pictures though... Looking again at the pictures: The little bike set looks really weird. I think it might be that the front wheel appears to be on fire. I think it's a cutting tool... at least, I hope it's a cutting tool. Also, in the background of the biggest set... is that a rock catapult? As in, a catapult built from rocks? I'll be honest, I've never seen that before. And you know what? I think it is orange. -
It's certainly an interesting MOC, that's for sure. It's definitely creative, lots of nice techniques in there (yeah, because that's what we're all looking at), and it's pretty original and funny. See, if only all Lego was like this. I... won't ask.
-
Let's just say it's mind-controlled. By me, because my mind is so powerful it can even reach far across space. Yeah... I'll just keep telling myself that.
-
I like red too. Red hair that is. Oh, just a mini tommygun. Otherwise his hands would be ridiculously big. See, I can read you like a book. I was. I've not quite gone so far as to find Ventriloquist cute. Yet... Well, there you go. Hugo Strange?
-
I'd never let it near the kitchen. If I did, it'd only end up in entirely the wrong place... Mmm... it transforms from a box to rubbish... You know what? I think I want one of these now. As if I don't already have enough cluttering up my shelves.
-
No, nor can I. What's the point of having a set designed specifically for cheap impulse buys when out shopping if they're not going to be available anywhere?
-
Indeed. Let's see where it goes. Good luck to you too, when she returns from far-off lands. Cool. Nice to see you're not cheating like yours truly. It got a bit of a laugh, so not all bad. I mean, it's not like I scared her off or anything. Ooh, harsh. You know, I got asked if I dream about maths the other day. But I do want to teach maths, so it's hardly surprising. It's funny, I tell people that and everyone gives me the exact same look... Of course, your teachers telling you this is strictly off-the-record. Actually, the open day at my sister's school is coming up soon, so all the staff are putting up work on display boards and in their classrooms. She came home today and told me there's a board in one of the maths rooms with some of my work on (which has apparantly had smily faces drawn on it by someone), and there's a board outside English with all (yes, all) my coursework on. I left a year and a half ago! Oh, I was thinking much worse than that. He also developed a tendancy to wander around the penthouse suite in costume. Is that really a good idea? It's great how the press all got it entirely wrong: "They're switching it on! They're switching it on!! They're switching it on!!! Oh... nothing's happened." Turns out it was only supposed to be a test, and everyone without fail assumed it was the big switch on. Yeah... it's a lot worse than that. However, I've learned to live with it, and I've learned to laugh at it along with everyone else. It's me, why bother about it. Sure, whatever. Hope you enjoy your holidays, btw. I haven't seen it, no. I was going to go a few weeks ago, but I never quite got round to it. I'll probably take a look when it comes out on DVD. Maybe buy it for my sister for Christmas, just so I can watch it. It is a Pixar film though. With the exception of the Lion King films, I never much cared for Disney's solo fare. But all the Pixar films I've seen have had a certain charm to them. Yeah... sorry about that. I have a lot more than I think though. But then, they do go back a couple of years. It's great reading them back no, as I can appreciate them differently, with a more adult view. Looking at your list though, you do seem to have got all the ones you should have, as a Bat-fan. Whereas I haven't (the UK market strikes again). Not yet, no. Not had any time sadly. I'll likely watch a few at the weekend though. Indeed. It looks awesome, with the oversized hardcover, and the classic 'Joker with a camera' image. It's one of those things you see and just think "I must have this". I agree. But it's still an interesting read, just trying to figure out who the main villain is. I'm hearing theories of it being Alfred. But I'm currently toying with the red/black as good/evil theme representing the Black Glove and the Red Hood. The Joker's involved somehow... And, red and black are Harley's colours. More Joker ties... Hmm... I might have read it, I can't quite remember. Nice haul though. Yes, I heard it was supposed to be good. I might check it out sometime. I am volunteering though... sort of. Last year I volunteered in a school one afternoon a week. I don't have time for that this year sadly, so I offered my services to the maths department at college to help out with GCSE resit classes. When the two college sites merge into one (it was supposed to happen three weeks ago, but the building work took longer than expected) I can start. Long story. Anyway, volunteering looks better than paid work on Uni admissions. So there!

I understand that. I want to come at this fresh, without knowing too much about it. That is to say, without knowing any real specifics about individual levels or details of the overall story. These next 3 weeks are going to go so slowly, just because I really want this game to hurry up and come out.

I agree that he should have had a trenchcoat, and that I am a little disappointed that he doesn't, but he's accurate enough otherwise for me to forgive it. Indeed, those SWAT team figs look really great. As for that poor Riddler henchman... being beaten up in every screenshot. Oh, of course. And I believe it's called a nerdgasm. October 10th. What the...? Since when has Mad Hatter ever had a glider?! Oh, but aren't there a lot of vehicles? All the obvious choices are there, of course, plus a few unexpected treats. I wonder if Monarch Theatre is a reference to Monarch Playing Cards from The Killing Joke? The red button on Gordon's desk is obviously a reference to the Batphone, and the bit where Robin jumps off the roof is a neat touch. Mad Hatter's glider looks cool, if a weird choice of vehicle for him. Seriously... I can't wait.
-
Sounds good. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, and I wish it every luck for the future. Neat reference with the name there as well. In other news, word has come out that TFA Wave 3 is available in Asda of all places. Need to call in and check that out, all my Woolies has is two Bumblebee's. Tesco also has the Wave 3 voyagers (Grimlock et al), but no deluxes.

Also picked up Phantoka Kopaka and Chirox the other day. No real use for them, but they were (also) £1.99.

Happy birthday guys. Hope you've all had good days.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Brainbox replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice new shiny pictures. Okay, so they were posted a few days ago, but never mind. I have to say, I'm still in the relative minority that sees something good in this. Most of the designs (the mech with the strange hips and the slgithly weird bike don't really count) are pretty neat, and with a little MODing, a challenge that I relish, they could be really good. The rock monster things look pretty cool, and lime green is a cool colour anyway, so it's nice to get more. The figs look quite neat, and I notice that each vehicle has its own number. The new wheels look interesting as well, I'm sure I can think of something interesting to do with those. The fact that the creatures look to be different colours is fantastic, a real attention to detail. So yeah, it's a bit of a silly over-the-top theme, but I think there's something in it. -
True, but it's red in a lot of the comics, and that's where I'd rather see TLG draw inspiration from. Oh yes please. If he's done, he needs to be done right. This way would be a good way of doing it. Plus, ho cute would a mini-minifig look? I agree with that. All they need do is remold the Gamorrean/Wookie torso slip-over piece to give us an awesome looking Clayface. He knew that. But you said it was the best Batmobile "almost ever" which implied there was a better one.
-
Yes, there's Hot Shot as well. I think the 5-pack has been revealed recently. It's got repaints of Armada Deluxe Prime, Cyclonus, Sideswipe, Blurr and Hoist. Can't quite remember what they've been renamed as. I think the Legends toys you're thinking of are the Legends Minibots. Brawn, Bumblebee and Beachcomber, I think.
-
I don't doubt that. He's just not a character I was expecting to see. However, if we are getting a lot more characters than we thought, it makes sense. Oh, that reminds me, the videos. I don't think I got round to watching those.

It was a notion of pain so strong, so vicious, that poor Larry could not avoid it. His body and brain limp and still with pain, from his mouth a cry of loss rang out, scary to all around. For aid did approach, to assist with Larry's situation.
-
Ah, that custom Joker never ceases to impress me. Seriously, it's great. As for the image it inhabits, that's also fantastic. That one is definitely my favourite, but I do rather like the other two as well. Fear toxin Bats looks good, and the dead Batman is pretty creepy. Nice work.
-
Way ahead of you. I believe I've mentioned it already. That way, if anyone goes near her I can tell them to "leaf" her alone. Oh, okay. See, that's where I went wrong. But like I said, I'm quite happy to stick with what we already have.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Brainbox replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
And "double post". I'm wondering if they might be a bit like the CW Rotta the Hutt, but with legs. And did someone mention moving mouths, or have I made that up? Especially as they both appeared in one post. -
I was looking at this earlier as well, and I must say it too is very nice. Dark green really is a wonderful colour, and it's great to see it used in such a way. Not really sure what the soldier gear is about, but no matter, as the design of the pod is sleek and cool. I think I prefer V.1 to V.2, but both are nice. And of course it fits neatly into the TLG class of craft as it has no controls of any kind.
