Hmm...any idea if you can get a Myer One card instantly if you apply in-store as opposed to the wait if you do it on-line? I'm meant to be going out to put the deposit on the passenger train at toyworld tomorrow, but if I can get the cargo train for 30% off that would make it $210, and its more than worth the extra ten bucks. Guess I could always get both!

Wow, that is just awesome. The colour scheme, the trash conveyor, the green "river". Looks like a great setting for that huge walking city somebody made to wander to for a vist!

Hmm....I've just put the passenger train on lay by for the kids and was thinking of ordering a couple of track packs from lego so it was more than just a lame circle, might have to go to Myers come July 1st instead and get me one of those, more engines and a decent amount of track! Now I just need to work out how to make a table the little blighters can reach their roads and police stations etc on while still having enough room for the train tracks I'm also keeping an eye out for the crossing, Lightning, and will be sure to post here if/when/where I find it. REALLY hate the silly way TLG release stuff, if its ready they should just dump it into the shops and let us take advantage of as many wife distractions as we can edit : Just got back from the shops. According to the lady I spoke to in K-Mart their mega toy sale will be starting on the 1st ( 2 weeks from today ), and we'll be getting two bits of junk-mail in regards to it. One will just list items on sale with the normal lay-by available, the 2nd will list those sale items you can get the extended till xmas lay by on. Sadly she couldn't tell me if they'd be getting in any new sets, only that they where currently very low on Lego and where expecting to get big shipments of everything next week.

Has anybody seen the MMV in a store lately? I know it was exclusive to Target on release, but haven't seen it anywhere since they ran out of their initial stocks, and the impression I got from Lego australia was that it was still flagged as an exclusive to them Might have to harass the good folks at toyworld into seeing if they can get it for me, I'd love to pick up a couple before its discontinued, and don't want to pay ebay/bricklink prices or S@H postage edit: Which castle impulse did you spot in the box, Artanis? Was it just the showdown, or did they have the prison carriage rescue as well?

My local toyworld had 3 passenger trains last week, but they where all gone yesterday when I went in to throw one on layby. Try having a chat with the staff, I did and they called the warehouse. As a result, either tomorrow or friday they should be getting both the passenger train and the new kingdoms Kings Castle in for me. I'll layby the train as its a b'day present for our eldest, but I might get the castle right away as its for the biggest kid in the family

If you look at the current Big W stocktake catalogue, down the bottom in small print it says something along the lines of "please note mega toy sale starts July 1st". Going off previous years I'm guessing Target and K-Mart will stagger theirs by a week or so off that.

I have a couple of questions. Firstly, what about string? Unless I'm totally blind, it's not in LDD in any mode, and even if it was there would be no way to get it to the sort of things string does. Can I use this in my model and make a note of where it goes and how its used? Secondly ( and I can probably guess the answer to this one ), one of the things I was contemplating designing and ordering would need a custom part, specifically a 2cm square or so piece of paper or cloth ( easily made yourself obviously). I'm guessing this wouldn't be allowed?

As the topic description says, does anybody know how much the 2x6x2 weight brick actually weighs? I'm after this information for a decidedly non-train MoC but figured this was still far and away the best place to ask

Hello from yet another AFOL returning from the dark ages. I've been trolling around here for a while looking for hints and ideas, figured it was about time I joined. I'm still working on building up a decent enough parts collection to make a post-worthy MoC, and I should point out that to keep the wife happy with my new habbit we had to make a compromise: Anything I buy/make needs to be usable by the kids! This means any building MoCs will probably have adult style facades, but with the TLG style 6ish depth and open backs. It also means for now I'm probably going to be stuck making ALOT of vehicles to keep the 2 boys happy while I work on getting enough bits to make things for my own please. Anyway, a big thank you to all the outstanding members who've posted such great tips and advice on here, and hopefully I'll be able to get something together in the not-to-distant future. Any advice in the mean time on the fastest non bank exploding way to build up bricks ( buying large 2nd hand sets with good price/piece ratios perhaps? ) would be much appreciated. PS: For any aussie members still looking for the mini figs, I dont know how things are elsewhere at the moment, but on the GC every target I've been in has had 2-3 boxes full of them jammed randomly onto the shelves in the lego section.

Noticed today that Toyworld has updated their site. A lot of things that where tagged as being august release are now set to 15th June, including the new passenger train. They also claim a few exclusives which seems a bit dubious, given one of those supposed exclusives is the modular fire station ( 10197 ) which I saw at TRU Garden City a couple of weeks back. Oh, and hello! Guess I should have posted in the new members forum first but meh, was too excited seeing I might be able to pick up a train set in 2 weeks The question now is should I hold off till the stock take sales, or even big mid year toy sales in July, and hope some of the major chains are going to stock them!
