I have been a Bionicle fan for over a decade now.

I love fantasy novels, comic books, and of course anything animated. I sometimes play video games such as World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2, but I don't play as often right now because I'm working on some of my own projects, and one of them is definitely going to be posted.

  1. Nice review! I have to say I haven't forgotten about Lego's fascination with silver; seeing it return such that a character has mostly silver isn't as appealing as it was back in 2002. I'm thinking when I get pohatu + PoS I might try swapping out some of the silver on his legs for brown to see if I like it better (and if I do I might get a second PoS! but that's after I get the other toa of course)
  2. I don't remember it taking longer than an hour... I think. Glad you like it! :D
  3. Left: In 2007, I came up with a Toa character that was entirely mechanical, then I dropped his story in favor of other projects. Right: while considering recycling the original, I decided to redraw him! Inspiration came from anatomy and the original trilogy movies.
  4. My mom says this about all kinds of stuff. Not sure why. Oh and being a girl who liked Bionicle as a teen, I got a lot of "That's for 8-12 year old boys!" from her too. And "You shouldn't talk about it around the other girls, you'll embarrass yourself/ they won't be interested." I don't get it as much now, maybe b/c I don't get as many lego sets (lack of money + focus on animation)
  5. ... Your first time at San Diego Comic Con skips all the celebrities just to visit the Lego booth (I did this in 2003. I could have met Hugh Jackman!) ... You just can't give Megablox a chance, even when they make World of Warcraft/ Starcraft 2 sets. ... Your bucket list includes a trip to Brickfair VA.
  6. Hey Xonar! Looks like we had the same Idea! :D
  7. The Soaring Strawberry! A student animator with big dreams! This young berry started out as a typical Disney Princess girly girl, but that was not to last. In 2001, Bionicle arrived and everything changed. She was a geek before she even knew what that meant! That made things awkward, but this Fragaria knew that she had discovered something amazing. There were awesome characters and an awesome story to be had, and she followed it through good and bad times to see its conclusion. Unfortunately, the end came so suddenly that it was a bit of a shock. The Soaring Strawberry had a lot to figure out, both about herself and her love of Lego. And so this strawberry drifted across the multi-verse. She visited a far off land called Azeroth, wherein she became a Troll Mage. She spent many nights defeating dragons and monsters, and while she was proud of her achievements, community was constantly shifting around her. More importantly, she rediscovered a place that she had not been to for a long time, the world of cartoons. At this point she remembered her love of storytelling and drawing, which combined made animation. This berry always works on several projects at once, even when she is a full time student! She loves making things that people can enjoy. It could be a drawing, a video, or even a giant pot of hot pumpkin soup! She hopes to share some things when she can, and talk to other artists as well. The Soaring Strawberry lives in a sunny patch in southern California with her friends and family.
