  1. Here we go: The Official Lego Set 7945 review Lego says: Get ready to fight the fire! When the fire alarm sounds, it’s time for action! This fire station has everything you’ll need to save the day, from a central station with control and alarm rooms, to two garages with working doors, to a team of brave firefighters and a pair of realistic firefighting vehicles. Race to the rescue in the big fire truck and fire chief’s car! • Truck’s ladder extends to 15 inches (39 cm). • Includes 4 firefighter minifigures with equipment! • Raise and lower the garage doors! • Climb the ladder to the highest window! • Set is divided into sub-models for easy building and instant play! Set overview: Set # : 7945 Theme: City 2007 Pieces: 600 Minifigs: 3 firefighters / 1 Chief (Silver Helmet) Vehicles: 1 chief’s car, 1 boom fire truck Cost: $85.00 CDN, $59.99 US, $64.00 EUR Ages: 5-12 Available: Lego shop@home Buildings: Garages: 01 Small single plate (16X16 stud with driveway) dark grey Designed for chiefs car / brush truck 7942 Roll up garage door with 6X6 skylight in roof Nice garage lights and decorative Fire Logo Connected to main structure using a technique pins in 2 places at bottom 02 Double size 2X single plate (16X16 stud with driveway) dark grey Designed for Boom fire truck or 7239 ladder truck Roll up garage door with 2 6X6 skylights in roof Nice garage lights and decorative Fire Logo Truck cleaning area with faucet, bucket, brush, broom and shovel Small sleeping quarters with single bunk Stairs on roof between the 2 levels Main Building: 8 X 16 stud base plate. First floor office: Nifty sliding door system for entrance Desk with computer and LCD screen Modern phone set Coffee machine with cup Second floor control room: Desk with computer and LCD screen Sloped control panel and coffee cup Exit door to roof tops LARGE Fire Dept. flag with sticker 1X4X6 windows used to form a skylight roof using technique pins Radio antenna for communications Twin binoculars used as loud speakers for crews to hear communications Vehicles Chiefs SUV Nice innovative design with hatchback trunk New clear headlights as on 7942 Uses same front windshield as seen on 7942 Rear hatch opens to reveal breathing apparatus Rear hatch has lift-gate style door built like real minivans or SUV’s Most realistic chief’s car ever designed by TLC Boom truck Nice flat bed design, nicer then7239 Fire hose reel incorporated into truck frame Other side has container for air tanks Rear view mirrors a nice touch Double crane arm used to make boom NEW Part, simulated hydraulic pistons using technique rods That slide loosely in new tubes Boom extends to the height of many MiniFig skyscrapers Rear deck has very realistic turn signal / brake lights Very nice design but 1 flaw exists: the boom operators chair faces the wrong way Check out my MOD to fix this issue MiniFigs : Nothing new, no new faces same fire fighters as always. Overall: Nice design, far above the 7240 set, brings back memories of 6389 and 6571 fire stations Good piece count, plenty of useful pieces for other projects. Great vehicles and good design Ideas ( sliding door/ hatchback/ boom ) Highly recommend this set to all Town/City brick lovers Pro’s: Nice buildings, vehicles Con’s: Boom design, very hard to integrate into city roadway because of uneven plates, no helicopter or landing pad. Sliding door + video video Part 2 MOD to the boom truck You will notice that the seat on the arm is facing forward towards the cab of the truck yet the basket is behind the operator. Originaly tried switching the seat around but the hydraulic arm would bang up against it when the boom was folded so I reworked the boom to have both hydraulic pistons on the same side looks real and works

  4. By this weekend I will compose my first review, This review will be on the new Lego City Firestation set 7945 Stay Tuned fellow brick lovers.... Marc
  5. In looking at the final picture something else I have notice on the mobile container crane... No Winch... like the old one... the arm simply lifts up and down.... yuck The dock has a customs office like the old one... thats nice and the mobile container crane has new rims... The ships cargo hold seems to be a definitly 12 studs wide... so here goes the 3X 4 stud conatiner mod Look at the control room for the ship, on the roof there seems to be a new part, round like a fig head looks like a mini radar dome...
  6. As I said in the other section: Seaport: The first thing I notice is that the standard platform baseplates have been replaced with road plates from the old 6600 kit... that's to bad... The biggest change is the 6wide vs 4 wide containers, this is a bummer for any one who has any of the old container crane kits, TTX intermodal cars, mearsk container truck, I suppose one can mod the ship to accept 3X 4wide vs 2X 6wide... The crane is also more of a general purpose crane as opposed to a container crane... I guess if the price is right it might be worth modding it to old standards.... I will pick up 2 when the come out but will have to see about the container crane I already have a MOC of 4549 and prefer the container clamp on that kit rather then a simple hook. The Trucks look realistic and will definitely be part of my city... The service station looks like a nice cross between the Octan and Shell station of the past couple years... Nice black motorcycle with the station Thanks for the pics...

  8. What is killing me is that 1000stein is posting Duplo scans before the city ones.... He must be laughing his *ss of because he knows everybody is dying to see those pics I waiting to see if the new seaport will be as good as the 2 old Nautica sets if so I will wait and buy the new ones, but if not I will keep trying to buy the old ones off EBAY This is worst than waiting for Xmas PS Merry Xmas and happy new year to all

  11. It isn't a new printed piece but it is the same as the batmobile black one part #3039px-58 Peeron.com 3039px58
  12. Looking closely at the pictures available at Shop@home the front door to the station has left/right arrows on it and appears to be a sliding door - KOOL also there seems to be a new printed "control" tile in the upstairs office beside the computer screen ( use the zoom feature in the 360 spin for the office ) Also noticed the big truck is using more of those skid plate graphics ( Decals ? ) probably... Chief's car has a hatch back design.
  13. Ordered this first thing this morning... it is in stock and available for delivery I also picked up 2 X 7942 Off Road Fire trucks Lego Shop@Home Firestation set 7945 Can't wait till the come in
