Humorous MOC, R5-N2 . It has a nice, whimsical feel to it, and it's quite well built. I could actually see a droid like this in the Star Wars universe too... I mean, R2 branched out a little in Return of the Jedi: Your droid just takes it to the next step . Nice work!

Haha clever MOC Leo-j - actually chuckled out loud for this one. Not a bad build either!

Matn, this is a beautiful MOC. It's one of the most satisfyingly complete builds I've seen in a while - it just doesn't leave the viewer with a sense of "well it's good, but would be better if...". Your photography is quite good too. That's a big work with a lot of potential shadows and glare, and you managed to capture fantastic images. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with the other posters about the red grill, Baylego - it's worth a try! Otherwise, this is a fantastic miniature - I don't think it could get more accurate at that scale. Wish I could pull off micro-scale efforts with this skill.

Wow! You've got tons of clever techniques worked into this scene. The "wheel" is particularly cool. The mottling of colors for the sea floor is very effective too, and the red seaweed is a nice backdrop too, setting the scene edge. Cool seahorse too btw. Dave Kaleta is a formidable opponent, so there's no shame in placing behind him. I'm a conformist! Flare!

MOC: Diving in the Mediterranean Sea
Blackicep8ntball replied to Adrian86's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Cool little vignette, Adrian86. It would make a fantastic backdrop for a goldfish bowl! The way you've connected the diver is, as others have pointed out, very clever, and your use of the headgear for an animal is nice too. The only thing I'd change is the yellow tint of the pictures. Otherwise, a very solid MOC. *Edited: I used the wrong screen name! Sorry Adrian! * -
Very nice ship, and great photography. I love dropships - the very first MOC I built was a dropship for a contest too, although it wasn't up to this quality. You've developed a nice color scheme for it, and the overall design is very effective. Good luck on your contest!

This is a gorgeous entry, FatTony -the interior shots you've posted here really show off all the thought you put into the design - I love the shot from the rear looking into the cockpit . Good luck!

[MOC] Operation: Knightfall (Jedi Library)
Blackicep8ntball replied to Courleciel's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow I'm thoroughly impressed with all you've packed into the scene. The floor design is well done, and the archive shelve is amazing. I'd love to see you take the ideas from this vignette and make a large scale archive! -
Thanks Flare - I appreciate the feedback! Update: the following link has been fixed, so you can vote for this entry HERE! (if you think its the best in its bracket). I'll be much obliged!

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you all know that thanks to your votes, this MOC made it to the top 32 of the FBTB contest! Thanks for all the feedback you given too. We're now into the 1-on-1 brackets, and I'd love to have your vote again - EDIT: The voting has been changed, so I'll be back with the correct URL later tonight. Thanks! Cheers!

Something I forgot to mention in my comment at FBTB... your combination of the dark green arches with the true brown base of the ship is perfect. Another thing TLG should have done... Amazing build, bro.

Sneak Preview - Battle of Endor Layout Cologne 2010
Blackicep8ntball replied to Sir von Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, Sir Von Lego, A year and a half is a long time, but your investment is really paying off! This scene is looking fantastic - the way you mottled the ground to look like Endor's surface is fantastic, and the trees are really well done. Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to the complete project! -
Well, I'm a new space builder myself... but judging from your work here, I'd say keep doing what you're doing! Experiment with different things, enter some contests to help force you out of your box, challenge yourself... You're definitely on the right track!
-
Haha wow! I don't think I would say I'm a hello kitty fan, but I think you've done a fantastic job with the cube dude(ette?) version. Nice job with the offset belt and the different angles of the feet - they help give it the authentic Japanese feel.

Hey Jonas, First, thanks for introducing me to this game! I'm completely unfamiliar with Machinarium, but it looks intriquing, and I love the artwork from the still image. Getting to your MOC, I think your work is brilliant! You've captured the scene thoroughly and with top notch skill. This scene is clearly not an easy one to build. I particularly like your build on the center green robot. Clever backdrop work too - you nailed the run-down, whimsical nature of the scene. One thing that I've been wondering about - why isn't the little white robot over beside the fountain like his counterpart in the image? Just curious

I've already shared some thoughts on this MOC on your Flickr, but I won't hesitate to praise it again here! Some of the elements I have not previously pointed out but that bear mentioning are the angle progression from the cockpit through the rear and your excellent use of piping and tubes. Your angles are well executed, progressing from the shape of the cockpit up to the bulk of the rear of your ship, and they create nice lines in your build. As for the pipes and tubing, you've integrated them very nicely into the build, and they emphasize the "dark fantasy" vibe the ship gives. Congrats on a ship well built, and best of luck in the contest!
-
Hey puriri, This is a fantastic first build. Your SNOT technique is well executed, and you've handled the wing angles flawlessly - not an easy thing to do. I like how you set the tans-orange grills beneath the angled dark grey pieces too. The ship could easily fit into the "classic-space" look - all it needs is light grey instead of dark grey and it would be a shoe-in. Nice build.

Hey MarcoB, welcome to Eurobricks. Like you, I'm a Star Wars fan, but unlike you, I never really got into technic (they're out of my league ). However, you look like you also have a solid background in motorizing Lego creations - your little mobile missile launcher vehicles are sick! Keep building - looking forward to more stuff of that quality. Enjoy the site!

Hey Erynion, For a limited parts collection, I'm very impressed with your build. I think it very well illustrates that if you had a larger collection, you could really build a smashing MOC. You've managed to capture a very good shape (the top-down view shows it of particularly well), and the working rotors are a fantastic addition. The fact that you've implemented a motor into this further shows off your ability, as motors are space-consuming and sometimes hard to work into a set without sacrificing other elements. Nice work, and keep expanding your collection! I'd love to see what you can do with a full parts selection .

Wow guys, thanks for the amazing response! This kind of quality feedback is just why I joined Eurobricks - It makes one feel all warm inside to get compliments like these . @ Legostein and MrMcGow: I'm glad to hear you guys like the turntables! I used them more or less out of desperation when I ran out of black tiles, but I'm glad they turned out well. As for a rear turret, I think you're dead on with that suggestion; I really didn't think to add anything like that so I'll have to see what I can do. Thanks again all!

[REVIEW] Star Wars Celebration V Cubedudes
Blackicep8ntball replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review, KimT. I'm lovin' the nice, clear pictures of each individual cube dude from all angles. Clever use of the baseplate as the backdrop too. I would like to see some pictures of all the parts though. I definitely agree with you that this set of cubedudes just looks more fun than the Clone Wars ed., but boy, in my opinion, it's just not worth the price it's fetching on the secondhand market. Ah well - If nothing else, I'd love to get my hands on Boba one of these days. -
Sick man - looking forward to the new stuff. I was looking at the scene some more, and you did an awesome job with the vegetation too, moving away from the traditional four palm branches on the tree trunks, etc. And yeah, that's a ton of blue pieces, but it takes so many to do a sizeable water scape. PS. A little of topic, but is that a picture of you jamming on the snow in your profile picture?

Unique piece, skinny boy. It's very plain, yet completely cool. Love that bridge, and particularly how you gave it a sort of "offset" look from the top with those black 2x2s and other tiles. Good luck in the contest!
