LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
art_apples replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm really loving all this OT goodness.. , It's all the more enjoyable seeing as it was totally unexpected. I figured the first 3D PT would have been the focus. After the seeing the huge difference in the TIE I'm now so excited to see if they have equally done the same amount of alterations to the X & Y wings... but my god, three OT ships in one go is just something else There are some really intriguing minifigs too... Endor BP - At long last the stomies are coming back, I wonder if this one will have leg prints like recent clone trooper BP's have had? (ps. I hope this doesn't stop a 4 x storm'y BP at a future date) Clone Wars BP - All interesting figures, I hope the commando's are as good as the custom ones that are around, and I await to see what type of print they come up with for the ARC + ARF... an all camo design would make this set sell like hot cakes. Droid Escape - The kind of set I would never have imagined TLG to have gone back to... I'm dreading the idea of large stickers for this, but at long last my beloved sand troopers are back and two of them at that I have to agree though that a Dewback with two sand troopers would have been so much better, but hey that might come along one day to. Geonosian Cannon - I was disapointed that the recent Geonosian ship never included the sonic cannon like the original (which looking back was such a good medium priced little set)... I would love the Geonosian figure to be a different one... and very keen to see the zombie one to. Could be a great set R5 Droids - well you wait years for one to show up and no less than three suddenly appear... Of course we have the cool Imperial one in the TIE set and I'm loving the yellow design of the R5-F7 in the Y-wing and of course the red R5-D8 from the X-wing can double up as the much wanted R5-D4 that blows up from the sandcrawler scene in ANH "This R2 unit has a bad motivator, look" because as quoted from Wooki... The droid (R5-D8) looked exactly like R5-D4, probably because Lucasfilm used the same prop as in the first film. X-Wing - Love that they have included the much loved Porkins... , the Luke would be interesting if they had a double sided head, one side with 'eye visor' down and the other "Use the Force Luke" without And love how they've 'slipped' in Ceremonial Leia, now the Ceremonial set is complete... -

That's great news about a new X-wing, It will be really interesting to see if TLG have made a big leap forward in the design of it, but based on the new Tie I'm really excited to see what they come up with, and if it's good this will be a multi buy from me for sure. Also... Do you know if the new X-wing is white or grey? (Thanks also for all this great info... ) -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

In the first line there he is saying 2012 (talking Star Wars), and on the second line, about 2013 he says 'a very special year overall' which implies outside of the SW line to me, so I don't think the playthemes & IP's (whatever IP's are meant to be) are neccesarily related to SWlego. On the question of what the 'special' feature or element could be for next year, on the one hand there is the obvious refrence to 'Shadows of the Empire' which makes me think Dash Rendar's Outrider or even Xizor figure, but I'm also thinking that's hardly something that would be recommended for 'everybody to buy it', and as has often been said the EU hardly sells well. Unless of course some element from Shadows of the Empire like the Outrider is planned in an upcoming CW episode or story arc. But my instinct agreess with what someone else has already mentioned and that is that the 'special' feature could be chrome pieces and the refrence is to a Naboo Royal Ship. For one it obviously ties in with the Queen Amidala figure teaser already shown, and secondly it might mean that certain chrome pieces that would be used for that ship will not be seen in the lego line for a (as mentioned very very long time) after that. -
If they decided to add rubber parts to the Taun taun they should perhaps have made a 'slit' in the stomach out of rubber so that you could part insert a figure to recreate that 'keeping Luke alive scene from the film'. ... from vague memory I seem to remember the original Kenner Taun taun to have a similar feature...

I think that's a totally awesome idea.... I've often thought the same thing, If you done them it would be great if you made them available here so that others could perhaps get them printed as well if they chose to.

This might bring back happy memories to others... Hardfloor's mix of Mory Kante's Yeke Yeke... play it as loud as you dare, pills are of course optional...

Not sure if this has been posted..... Hallmark's Christmas ornament of 3.5" lego Vader coming out in Sept/Oct for $15.99.... I think they look quite cool, it would be great if they extended it to include other Imperial's link

I can see where you are coming from on this to a certain extent. I went through a similar thought process to you many years ago, I thought wouldn't it be great to see a new wave for the first time in the shops and be totally surprised by it. It would be lovely to walk in one day and see the whole new range and to go through it all and having the thrill of discovering and making an opinion right there in the shop... wouldn't it be lovely to be looking at the box design and scanning the figures to see which new ones they have done, how exicting would it be to see some much desired figures in the sets, it would be great to see how many rehashes or new vehicles were there, how much OT, how much CW. Imagine if you really done this and went to the shops say for the summer 2012 wave... imagine walking in to the shop and the first thing you saw was a UCS B-wing, Wow, you'd be straight over to the box, picking it up and really excited about it... Imagine you looked across and then saw a new Slave 1, hmmm, ok not that excited maybe, but look they've finally done Zuckuss & 4-Lom and aren't they beautifully done, now this set is looking more interesting already... a closer look at the set, Wow a great fett figure too with cloud city type leg printing, ok it's looking better... and no way! is that an Ugnaught carrying frozen Han... right how much money do I have as that sets is in my buy now pile... Oh what is that?... oh my god they've actually made a Tatooine homestead with really cool burnt Beru & Owen figures, what a cool & unexpected move by lego, and it comes with a stunning luke's skyhopper.... ok next set, clone wars troopers with some sort of ground vehicle, hmmm I don't instantly recognise that vehicle, must of blinked and missed that one from the cartoons, the box describes it as a Republic Ground Cruiser, nope still doesn't ring a bell, but I like the 4 troops with great printing, Is that some sort of squadron they all seem to be in a red print... I like it. ... and so on, just think wouldn't that be such a great experience... I would be so excited to go through that personally. As a result, in the past I have attempted to avoid the rumour thread... this lasted about 2 months as it was sheer agony to not have a little sneaky look. However saying all that I do love to see new vehicles that suddenly appear on the forums, I remember when I went into the rumour thread and saw for the first time the UCS Imperial Shuttle... it totally blew my mind, I was so excited about that set and it came as a total surprise out of the blue... similarly with the UCS Executor. And I also love the slow un-ravelling of a set with blurred images and lots of speculation before all is revealled. But I have bought sets in the past and been really unexcited by it as a result of seeing it talked to death and analysed many months before it comes out, and when they do come out I have a tendancy to buy sets about another 6 months later just before the next wave arrives to see what the sales have to say, so by the time I pick the sets up I've also seen the forum reviews, the youtube reviews, everything, so I know the sets inside out, I've seen the figures so many times... sadly for me there is no surprise and it feels like I'm just going through the motions in getting certain sets. My conclussion is that there is no solution... haha; We are, or I am at least a slave to this hobby and no matter how hard I try I can't help putting my hand into the cookie jar...

Hi, I live in Staines which is right next to Heathrow airport & Windsor... I work at Heathrow and know Windsor quite well, so if anyone needs any travel or other tips just pm me and I can help. There is no direct train from Heathrow to Windsor... Heathrow only has the Piccadily underground line which starts at Heathrow and goes eastwards towards London, & the Heathrow Express which also goes eastwards into London (fast to Paddington). (Windsor is to the west of Heathrow). Travelling from Heathrow there are basically 3 starting points... (Terminal 1,2,3 are all grouped together and you use the Heathrow Central Bus Station for these 3 Terminals) or (Terminal 4) and (Terminal 5) which are both stand alone terminals... so it all depends on which terminal you arrive at to determine the best option to get to Windsor. The best ways from Heathrow to Windsor would either be by bus... 77 or 71 buses from Terminal 5 goes direct from Heathrow to Windsor. or you can catch a bus from Heathrow to Feltham train station (and then take the train from Feltham to Windsor & Eton train station). 285 bus from Heathrow Central Bus Station (which is for Terminal 1,2,3) goes to Feltham. 490 bus from either Terminal 4 or Terminal 5 goes to Feltham. or you can catch a bus from Heathrow to Staines (441 bus from Heathrow Central Bus Station - Terminals 1,2,3) and catch the train from Staines direct to Windsor. If anyone wants to pm me for my mobile number I am more than happy to do that, so on arrival in the UK I can help out if needed. I'll try to join everyone on Fri or Sat too.... look forward to meeting other board members...

Wow, I would never have expected another Soshi either.... yea like you I do actually like a lot of their earlier stuff too, as well as their more mellow tunes away from their obvious hits (hoot, rdr, gee, genie)...( , , It's Fantastic)That Taeyeon sample you gave was really good, I think she's the best singer out of all of them... her solo stuff is incredible.... I also love Sexica's voice, I think she has the sweetest voice mixed with great range (One Year Later) I love that Oppa Nappa sample you left, when they get a few member's to do a melody together it comes out really beautifully... my favourite is 'Beautiful Restriction'... I think a lot of people don't appreciate Sunny Bunny's voice but she has an amazing singing range to.. I love the Soshi upbeat tracks as they remind me of Sunny so much.. ( and of course ).. but of course where would Sunny be without her Super Aegyo Power's... no one can watch this without smiling.... (for the unitiated.. 'Aegyo' is Korean for 'cute', it's known throughout the solar system that Sunny has the cutest voice & charcter there has ever been... If evidence was needed... ) ... I also heard that scientist's had done studies on Sunny, and they reported that Einstein's theory of relativity was apparently wrong because when Sunny unleashes her Aegyo power's, studies have found that at the exact same moment all time & motion in the universe actually stands still... Sone Hwaiting...

.. hi, further to my earlier post (3 posts up), I'm from the UK and the lego person I was speaking to was from the UK call line, in our conversation everytime they mentioned ebay they were talking in £'s as well... so the impression I got when they talked about future promo's for that fig was certainly a more wider than US only promo, the example they used was the white boba fett which definetley was UK as well... ...a quick add, they also said that lego would definetley respond to the fans demands and they were very much thinking along the lines of satisfying any real fan demand which they saw this fig as having... I did also mention that the demand for this fig would be much higher than then the white boba, seeing as it was more of an army builder than the stand alone fett and he said lego were thinking the same too...

I oredered just over £50 of sw lego on May 4th and recieved it today with no Arf figure included... I rang lego customer service and they said that my order was made too late in the day on the 4th, and all stock had gone by then... however during my conversation he said Lego were really surprised by the demand of this promtion and had been caught unawares to it's huge popularity... he said it was their best promo response, but not quite anticipating it's demand led to a low number of figs made... ...I mentioned that the only option for me now would be Ebay or Bricklink, he said that he had been looking at ebay himself and that he was surprised to see a figure for sale upto £30, but importantly he added that lego had noticed that as well (Wow, do they follow the after market???) and he couldn't gaurantee it but made massive hints that lego would make more Arf figures in the future for another as yet unknown promo with the same fig... .. when he mentioned another promo, I said you mean I have to wait until next May 4th, and he said no, much sooner than that.. (I got the impression he meant this year) as I said my sons birthday is in summer and I wanted to get a fig for him, and he said exactly... I spoke about how the White boba fett had originally come out as a much more exclussive promo but was rolled out later, and he said exactly, and lego had noticed the high demand on the net (hey is he talking Eurobricks...???) so decided as a result of the fan demand to roll out that promo, and were already thinking on those lines now... At the end of the call, I mentioned that it is probable that as a collector of all the sw figs I would have to resort to ebay/bricklink, and he chuckled and said 'No just wait, that's what I would do, I can't make any guarantees of course, and I shouldn't be saying this but lego are looking at all these things and other options/ promos can happen, so your best bet is to wait' Very kindly he said he would send me a sw keyring of my choice for free to make up for it... thanks lego..

I think this is a great move overall for TLG... the immediate benefits for me are... - When carrying the boxes home from the shops - Postage costs when buying from second-hand market... will the new smaller sizes also reduce shop@home postage? - Storage... I like to keep all my boxes intact, so obviously this is great news - Enviromentally, I like to do everything I can to contribute (ahem.. except recycling my boxes) and having several hundred lego boxes this is great news again What I was wondering though was whether Lego done this due to research and feedback where customers were disappointed with the size of the actual model in relation to their initial expectations considering the large box sizes...? Reducing the box sizes will allow TLG to display more sets on the shelves... also would retailers other than Lego (TRU etc.) also display a greater range of sets as a result? There are sets like the X-wing 6212 which have obviously been in production for several years now, but the only place I've seen it available is shop@home, certainly in the UK it isn't available for the general public in the regular shops (excluding Lego's own shops which are so few and far between) The logic in having the larger boxes was due to lego costing more than other similar toys which would be competeing for the average parents money on the shop shelf, hence Lego's inclination to use the larger boxes, so is Plo Koon's starfighter a test from Lego to see how the smaller package will affect sales before rolling it out across the range?

Has anyone noticed in these new pics (see previous threads for links) in the Jedi Shuttle pics from the catalogue, if you look at the minifig pics below the shuttle at the 4 bounty hunters the 'alien head' Sugii fig has been changed & now has a standard printed head... Also in the pics the name is printed as Sugii but in wookie it's listed as Sugi.... Is this the same character...?
