  1. Set#: 7876 Theme: Creator Set Name: Cement Truck Pieces: 44 Release: 2007 Price: 3.98 USD / unknown EUR / unknown GBP Links: My 7876 Brickshelf Gallery Bricklink Reference Catalog Peeron.com Brickset.com Lugnet.com Polybag shot: Introcomment: I bought this little Creator set by coincidence. I was placing an order on shop.lego.com and noticed that this was on sale for 1.98 USD. Who can resist something like that . So I bought it. I am a sucker for those small Creator polybags. I even bought several candy can sets and the cardboard boxes with awfull sugar-crackers to get the hummer and two other sets. Yes maybe I am a little weird sometimes The build: The build was easy. I think it took me almost 3 minutes to build this. Including time to open the polybag, sort the bricks and drink some coffee. Pro's and Con's It's a neat little cement truck, but there's plenty against it: Con#1: The top of the driver's cabin looks unfinished. You can see the window through the grills and the attachment for the cement mixer also looks like it's lacking finishing design. Con#2 The Cement mixer looks bad. The technic axle sticking out makes it look...well..strange. I don't recall seeing a cement truck with a rod sticking out of it. Con#3 Where's the number plate and rear lights? Con#4 The front is nearly ok, except I think it lacks the "Mack" in truck After some consideration on how to evaluate the set, I found that I would give it a poor or below average grading. Now I could do that, but instead I've decided to overhaul it instead. "You've been overhauled" Let the MOD'ing begin The MODding: I decided to fix the 4 Con's. Which meant MOD'ing the cement mixer, the front, the roof and the rear number plate The Cement Mixer MOD: I changed the technic axle to a shorter one, reducing the part sticking out of the rear to a near zero The Rear Number Plate MOD: Using one of these, I made this: Adding red rear lights and a number plate did the trick in my opinion. The Front and Roof MOD: The roof has been given a little more "attitude" and height. The front has been given some chrome and square headlights. Here's a few more to drool over : There's always fun to have with a set that looks a little dull in the beginning. Wouldn't you say so?
  2. Oh my They rejected McLaren's appeal. Seems as if they (FIA) really want Ferrari to win this year. Luckily I'm a Renault fan. City Nightrace On!
  3. Wasn't this thread about "Are you a member on BZP?"? Stop the flaming and ranting or be stopped.
  4. A fine review of a very useful set - technicwise that is. It's good to be shown the possibilities within the rather new range of technic power units. Thanks
  5. Thanks for this fine review. I've never been much of a technic fan myself, but I must admit that this looks kinda cool to me. Not sure wether and older set is better or not. This is a beauty and perhaps I'll someday consider building some of my old sets or even buy a new one. Thanks
  6. Agreed. That's one well designed, well built and truly stunning mech you've done
  7. Have you ever been to Billund? There's nothing there...(no offense meant). It's almost in the middle of nowhere. OCP TLG owns almost everything there. And they don't have any special events like this. I live in Copenhagen (the capitol) and I've not heard of anything like this coming here...not yet at least
  8. This is the best Slave1 they've ever done. Jango's and early Boba's go home A great design with some awesome minifigs. Thanks for the review. By the way: I've indexed it and added a poll. Did you per chance use the quick edit button? I edited your review because it had font-flaws (small boxes). This has happened to me a few times when using the quick-edit. Hence I don't use it anymore.
  9. Another great Castle set. This is one of my favourites. Loads of playability and great figs. Thanks for the review, I've added it to the index
  10. Mmmmm another review on this fantastic advent calendar. I like the pieces and the minifigs, in fact what's not to like (yeah yeah I know, not in NA ) Thanks cagri for this review, I've added it to the index.
  11. A great set in my opinion. The only thing that annoys me a little is that it feels like a rip-off copying the design of the Viking Wagon. Thanks for giving us this fine review cagri
  12. What the?!?! Dr.S isn't a MOC, at least not the last time I checked. Are you drunk?
  13. It isn't on shop.lego.com - my guess is it'l never be so. Nor is it a Brickmaster exclusive, what we're dealing with here is a promotional. We've seen them become available in stores before, the JSF and ARC-Fighter both suddenly became available in regular toy stores.
  14. Ok that's enough on this Dropship MOC. Please get back on topic and discuss the late 2008/2009 sets and pictures.
  15. Yeah I know that feeling. It is a little small actually. Kinda like a wall with nothing on either side. That's why I bought 2 of them...MOCing on!
  16. SNOT= Studs Not On Top Nice MOC Straw... The guy in the wet-suit does look a little evil. Is this the "tragic accident" involving the unfortunate skinny swimmer on the Northpole?
  17. Heck, any set will do. We want more Star Wars anytime
  18. That's a difficult question. They're close to a tie. If I had to choose....then I'll go for the King's Castle Siege, simply because it's bigger and the parts allow more diversity when MOCing. Luckily I didn't have to choose between them. I got'em both - only 1 castle siege though
  19. There's quite a gap between the MOCs in the Index and the digitally designed minifigs in your link, isn't there? Perhaps the gap is a little too big for a topic to be revived like this?
  20. It seems like Blockula is on a roll: Bith: Muftak: Very well done I must say
  21. Looks like a great exposition. Thanks for the pics. I wish they had something like this where I live.
  22. Great MOC with an awesome playability feature. LEGO should consider something like this instead of always making it too easy or stupid.
  23. Probably But where's the fun in that? Thanks for fixing those precious pics. I am truly amazed at your picture skills I own 2 of these fantastic mines and if anyone's considering to buy this, then by all means do so. Skip buying anything...even Star Wars and get this fantastic set.
  24. That's exactly what I thought when I saw it.
  25. That's a difficult question.... Led Zeppelin...Marilyn Manson...Public Enemy... Depending on the day and my mood
