Yeah Happy B-Day

Today I've been working on the top of the basic module and the corner/tower. This is how far I've come: A: I've skipped the tiled top for now and worked my way around using plates above the inverted slopes. B: I've tried to add a little "more" to the tower, when I stopped yesterday, it felt a little barren. C: As you can see in the pic with the minifig on the other side of the wall, I've managed to make the walls look solid. Now I must take the basic wall module apart (again) to do the same. D: I'm considering adding some black to the tower. Yellow in yellow does not do the tower well IMHO. Comments and thoughts are welcome since this is only my second large MOC ever. Don't worry, I'm sure the MOD version will be back

They're from a promotional keychain made for IcoPal (a roof materials producent - roof tar, roof plates with asphalt) Bricklink Catalog EDIT: And yes it's a Danish company (at least I think so)

As this seems outdated now, I'll merge it with the proper topic on hunting star wars sets.

What is it you guys don't get in my post previous to your comments on the price of the BPs? Read the topic before posting replies. Sheesh

WOW. Just discovered that the maersk helmet (only featured in one set) has been sold only once on BL and for the neat sum of 115 USDs. And it was used as well. Hmmmm....what to do with that helmet

I see your point. I guess I'll go for that, especially when I lack the vast amount of 1x? plates needed to do the other versions. Castle, as we all remember it. Happy and merry with no apparent enemies. Hopefully I'll have something to post tomorrow. I am working on a tower/corner module right now.

Today a recently won auction landed in my mailbox. Opening the parcel to see, what I've won I found several great parts. I missed that the auction contained an old classic castle minifig, an old visor and two old shields. All are in mint condition On top of that I got several mint castle figs, a maersk blue helmet and some pirate figs. I am so happy right now.

Aaahh, sometimes my brain plays tricks on me. I couldn't remember the word "tile" and went for SNOT-inspired. I mean "tiled" top. I feel the same way. I like the tiled top, but there's something to the studded version as well Yeah I know. I built a base and then added the tiled and non-tiled version to each side. I will definately make new versions, where the amount of plates is heavily reduced. Also I'm working on making the "windows" look like they're going all the way through and thus giving the look of a solid 4 stud wide wall. The question there is wether or not I should tile it. My issue is that whenever I "tile" something it has to end up wuth the same height as a regular brick.

After having worked back and forth on my Yellow Castle MOC, I decided to "shelf it". It was getting boring just reusing the techniques from the instructions. Instead I've begun making a modular yellow castle. I build on 16x32 light grey baseplates and so far I've done a basic wall section. When I'm completly done, I'll make more with towers and ballistae platforms. But for now I have a question. (look below) First a pic of the basic wall:[my daylight bulb is dead, hence the odd colours ] My question is: Which do you prefer? The SNOT-inspired wall or the "classic" versioned wall? Please note, that I've also done 2 different heights on the SNOT-version. Confused? Then look at the pics: Classic Version: SNOT Version- left is tall, right is...well..low With minifigs behind: Any comments are more than welcome.

LDD has a feature that allows you to go through all the steps in the building process of your design. It's not very good, but it's better than nothing. Check the help index within the program to find out how to upload, price and look at the instructions.

Actually I'd rather build my own Skeleton Castle and integrate the Skeleton Tower in it.

Both Battle Packs are exactly the same size as the four already released. Which means that the price will be exactly the same. 4 figs and some bricks...same ol' same ol'. So quit whining about the BP's price please

Ok, I see. Actually they still make those small boxes. The Duracell promotionals are released in them.

World Economic Crisis - How will it affect our favourite toy?

Yup. Low unemployment, loads of people living over their standard. Spend your money wisely, don't buy food, buy LEGO -
Don't be, one day you might stumble over something great

Ahem! Who said elves are good? They're tree-huggin-hippies for all I care and thus considered bad in my realm. How are my armies to make vehicles of war, when the pesky elves are disrupting the cutting down of the woods with their tiny arrows and annoying magic?

What what whaaaat? The Skeleton ships rocks! I just love the black hull They're kinda the same, just in different colours - at least that's how I remember the Skeleton Ship. Now if they made that with no skeletons and orcs instead Undead orcs and undead trolls Mmmm Zombie armies

I don't think it'll collide with the landing gear. I can't check since I've already taken my Twilight apart.

What the...? Hopefully that's a typo. Refrain from posting like that. Consider this a warning

World Economic Crisis - How will it affect our favourite toy?
KimT replied to frogstudio's topic in Community
I think the crisis is actually a Western Crisis. The appartment I bought 3 years ago rose furiously in value the first 2 years. Raising the market price from 250.000 EUROS to nearly 300.000 EUROS. Then the price dropped in the last year or so, back to 250.000 and now it's actually lower, even thought I "fixed" the place up with ethernet, antenna, telephone and cross-link boxes (allowing full control of all lan-sockets). Plus the ordinary wall fixing and painting. Total: 8.000 EUROS (which are kinda down the drain ) Luckily I didn't borrow the money in the freed value when the price was up. A lot of people did and they're to put it mildly in deep shit now. I think the same thing has happened in the US and thus it's the same problem. Prices have dropped up to some 30-40% of the market value here and it hurts a lot of people. Earlier a house could be sold within days, now it takes a year or more Wether this will affect TLG or not is unsure. It was predicted to do so last year, but it certainly didn't. Hopefully Vig-Knudstorp and his people are prepared for this - I am certain they are. -

Careful - no flaming. I'll be watching this topic and if it goes off-topic, I'll shut the doors and close it instantly. Read the first post and comment on that people. -
[crosses fingers for the water-based fraction in the upper corner of the Castle poster] Yeah, we'll just have to wait and see. I'm pretty sure it's normal though. No need for TLG to release every set from every theme in January. What would people buy the remainder of the year? When something isn't new anymore, then it has lost it's value as a new and interesting toy. That's why releases are scattered throughout the year. Castle will come mid year 2009.
