Jim Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Edit: Split these posts from Lobot's thread about Bricklinking 10143. -Brickdoctor Did you think about trying 10129, that was fun, too. The 10129 is very tricky. I have been looking into that one. The light gray parts can be replaced with very light bluish gray and the dark gray with dark bluish gray. However, the canopy and some other orange parts are very hard to come by. For the canopy, there are no obvious alternatives. Maybe you can do this wonderful Venator Class Republic Attack Cruiser: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37663&st=0 Quote

They were quite expensive, yes, but compared to the rest affordable (around 40 €). I then rebuild the canopy with 4 x 2437; from more than two feet away you see no difference. If you are interested, please have a look here. Quote

I was planning on ordering lots of white stuff anyway, so this will make for a nice excuse Some of the orange slopes (3 wide) can be replaced with (3 x 1 wide), but not all of them. Quote

Jim Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) You are very welcome! Go for it! It is a very nice and of course iconic craft. 4 orange slopes (slope 18 4x2) at 8 euro a piece. Darn. And there are no smaller orange ones (slope 18 4x1). However, I do have most of the gray parts, so the orange parts might be the only real investment. I already ordered the orange windscreens Sorry, wondering a bit off topic here. Edited July 10, 2013 by Gekke Ted Quote
Jim Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 I have ordered all orange parts today. Except some slopes 33 3x3, which I split in 33 3x1. Saves me some money. Needing 6 at 10 euro a pop, is quite ridiculous. Especially since the Slope 18 4x2 has no replacement options, so it's 8 euro a piece. I probably should have made an orange sticker or something. Jim Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Currently I am doing some Technic building again, so this project is on hold. I have all the orange parts I need, so when I get the urge again (which I will), I can get started right away. So much to build, so little time... Quote
