Defense Walls: Phase III stone wall
Built for the Age of Mitgardia free build challenge. The inner walls of the city, the final line of defence, and bustling with people on the inside, shopping for fresh food from the market stalls.

Thanks for looking :)

Lovely little wall there! The detail under the battlements with those modified clips, or whatever they are called, looks fantastic. The only part I do not really like is the amount of greebling on the wall itself; there just seem to be too many different textures and colors going on all at once. The back part of the wall, though, looks great, with the vendor's stall and the little kitten trying to get the fish. Well done!

Thank you, but yes, getting the right balance of texture without too much texture is rather difficult, something I'll try and improve on for future builds :)

EDIT: actually now you mention it, and the more I look at it the more it bothers me I dislike it, I'll try and improve this build tomorrow if I get time :)

Very nice build, Legofin, I really like how you've consistently used the same type of irregular base and black border to show that the three phases go together, and your banners are awesome as well! While the wall may be a little over-textured (though not so much, really, that I would have noticed it if Henjin hadn't remarked on it,), the rock out-cropping is excellent, and the stall and the cat's pose are great as well! Keep it up!

great build, as said before I really like your base and banner, and the fact that you included an interior!

Thank you, well I wasn't going to include one, but I couldn't help myself!

Thanks, I'm thinking of using the same base for all the "defence" builds, but maybe change it for the rest :) I had noticed, but in real it doesn't look as bad, but looking at the photos the wall does look a bit "busy", thanks again! :)

(UPDATED) Is this any better? :)

Cool finish to the wall phases  I like your use of plate modified and curved slopes as supports for the battlements.

I think the wall looks a bit top heavy right now though. A bit more height below the battlements. with some buttresses perhaps, would counteract the weight of the large crenelations you have :classic:

Yes, it is better. The dark grey in the wall detracted from the dark grey of the rock outcropping; this allows the rocks to be their own thing.

Thank you, yeah, I was thinking the same :)

Thanks, but yeah possibly, or maybe build the lower wall higher so it looks less disproportionate? :)

That's what I meant with "height below the battlements", should have stated it differently

Oh sorry, no my bad, I was trying to answer in a hurry and must of overlooked that part :o

The wall's details are excellent, and the ground is also very cool. I also like how you included the back, with the market stall.

Thank you very much, well I wasn't going to, but it felt incomplete if I didn't :)

Excellent wall section, I particularly like how some sections of the rock are actually in the wall  The wall texturing on both the front and back is nice, and I really like how you made the market stand as well :classic:

Thanks, something I felt like trying out :) Can't say the stand is particularly solid though
