woody64 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Shortly before Christmas here's my newest Vignette based on a painting by Krafft. It shows the Archeduke Charles at the battle of Aspern-Esslingen. The Museum add's the comment that the picture was surely inspired by Napoleon crossing the St.Bernhard (J.L.David) Some more can be found in: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/woody64/...es/img_2911.jpg Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 21, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 21, 2007 Well done Andreas. I didn't see this painting before. Your Lego version is a close match to the painting. This battle caused the death of one of Napoleons best Marshals (Marshal Lannes) Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 (edited) Nice job, woody, this is very similar to the real thing, and as always, great decals *wub* One thing I might change though is Charles' head. Mabye use this head, this head or this head, if you've got them. Other than that, great job *y* Edited December 21, 2007 by TinyPiesRUs Quote

Unfortunately I have none of them ... And here are the figures: Andreas Edited December 22, 2007 by woody64 Quote
El Bucanero Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 That's very nice and matching! Cool, but I wonder, why didn't you use red legs for the him? It's very clear in the painting he has red pants isn't it? X-D Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted December 23, 2007 Governor Posted December 23, 2007 That horse looks a bit wonky in it's hind legs... Quote
woody64 Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 Maybe it was a Lippizaner .... Andreas Quote
Capn Frank Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Great work Andreas! *y* I like how you've made the horse look like it's rearing up. *sweet* It's very innovative. This fine vig has been added Index of Painting MOCs. Hey B, hopefully it's ok that i took the liberty to add this MOC to the index. :-$ P Quote
