SpacerSteve Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 The Scorpion destroyer was commissioned in response to the arrival of the unknown menace. It is basically a ship built around a gun. The artefact of Duu-Ploo discovered on Guinevere by Spacer Steve, has been intergrated with this ship for it's power source. The artifact is thought to be some sort of terraforming device used by a mysterious ancient civilization. Since the intiial discovery several more have been discovered on different planets. Dating the device shows it's origin to be sometime between the ages 3-5. MANTIS scientist and engineers had found a way to crack into the power system and use it to power a large Prism Cannon capable of punching a hole clear through a Kawashita capital ship. - - - - - - - - - - - Thanks for looking C&C is appreciated. Blackhawk STX Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 THAT is friggin' insanely awesome! I want one! This certainly ranks as one of the best builds I've seen here! I'd love to have the skill (and parts) to do something like this! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Terrific build! Love how beefy it is. Quote

Kai NRG Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 This ship looks like quite the hefty cruiser! Very nice interior and some really neat angles all around! The light is an awesome addition too! Quote

Col. Brik Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Nice angles, really cool large ship build. I love the lighting on the engines. Quote
shmails Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Those engines are just fantastic, you really get the sense of how powerful they are! Quote
mccoyed Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Definitely a space-tank vibe here. I like all the little widgets on the exterior. It reminds me of the hovercraft from The Matrix films, which were designed by Geoff Darrow who's art is just chock full of mechanical details. Quote
LucasLaughing Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Wow, this is awesome! I love all the angles, and nice work integrating the lighting - looks great. Quote

I'd love to have the skill (and parts) to do something like this! Thanks for the great compliment! I didn't have that many MANTIS colored parts before the AG. Thankfully There is a used lego store near by that sells bulk lego for cheap! I've never built a ship this large. I wanna build more I'm glad it turned out well. I kind of procrastinated. I started this this Friday evening and finished on Saturday. Terrific build! Love how beefy it is. That ship is built like a tank. Looks powerful! This ship looks like quite the hefty cruiser! Very nice interior and some really neat angles all around! The light is an awesome addition too! It is quite heavy even though it is mostly hollow. Lots of technic beams. Sweet ship, SpacerSteve! The shaping is superb and the interior looks fantastic! Thanks Little John. I was going to build 4 more rooms inside but decided not to push it. The technic lighting I great fun! My brother let me borrow his lights for the challenge. I will definitely be getting my own now! Definitely a space-tank vibe here. I like all the little widgets on the exterior. It reminds me of the hovercraft from The Matrix films, which were designed by Geoff Darrow who's art is just chock full of mechanical details. I would have liked the exterior to be a little smoother but I kind of had to improvise. Now that you mention it I see the similarity. Totally Bad@$$ SpacerSteve! Thanks Umbra-Manis! The judges awarded you 8 points. Thanks a lot judges for all your hard work! That was a very fun competition for me! Quote
