Vorkosigan Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The concept for this MOC is that a couple runs a small blacksmith and produce stand on the roadside in front of their rural cottage. The scale is perhaps a bit compressed but I think it still gives the impression of a cottage set back from the road by gardens and wild fields. This is my first attempt at a detailed house. Quote
dartmar Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Nice! Lots of nice details in the cottage so for a first attempt you did very well. I like it. Quote
frumpy Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Nice work. Lots of good details, especially the interiors Quote
LittleJohn Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Excellent work! I love the interiors And the carrot patch looks great! Quote
Vorkosigan Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Thanks everyone! I forgot that I wanted to mention I drew a lot of inspiration and parts from the Medieval Market Village and Kingdom's Joust. It is probably obvious, but several pieces of furniture are only slightly modified from those sets, and the use of light azure for the upstairs exterior is from MMV. I also saw a similar carrot patch from a MOC on here, sorry I forget the name. Quote
TheRedViper Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Love the details and rural feel of the cottage, nice work! Quote
SerenityInFire Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Pretty darn good for a first attempt. The outside of the cottage is only ok, but the inside is marvelous! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Lovely - nice layout & great interior! Quote
Ruse901 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The carrot garden is a great little detail! Stay at it! Quote
Garmadon Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Very nice build, and excellent job on the interior! Great landscape as well, I like the path and bridge going to the house Quote
Hive Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Good stuff! I really enjoy civilian castle builds, and who can ever get enough blacksmith builds? Not me, that's for sure. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 really nice moc how much did you pay for this? Well I didn't bricklink any parts for this, its hard to quantify exactly what the cost of the bricks are. I did use many of the parts from Medieval Market Village, a few from Kingdoms Joust, and some parts from pick a brick wall trips: 2x2 and 1x1 light bley tiles, 1x4 brown tiles, flower stems, 1x2 trans clear plates, and 1x2 sloped bricks. The rest is just from my collection. Quote
Jreacher Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 excellent, cottage and whole scene is very detailed. Quote
