Lindon Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Hello! It's my first and last MOC for CCC XII (medieval husbandry). At once I want to say sorry for terrible photos, I just can't photograpf white buildings. This one below I made day after deadline after a lot of advice which I got from my LUG. Unfortunately entry photos are not as good as this one. Here it is: Cottage house by Lego_fan, on Flickr Full gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=551267 Happy New Year! Quote
Balbo Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Wow, that's a lovely MOC . I love all the snow and the techniques you used for the house! Good luck for the contest. Quote
deraven Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Wow! I really like the super-snowy landscape. Often when there's a MOC with a ton of "snow" it's just a white, shapeless mess. The way you've done yours, however, it really feels like a landscape with heavy snow cover. Very nice! And the cottage is great, too! Quote
telaruhn Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Love how nicely the blue of the cottage stand out against all the white. Also love the technique used to emulate icicles. Very nice work. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 This is great with so much snow! The icicles are excellent! (This MOC would deserve a better title than merely "Cottage House", but I struggle with my MOC titles as well....) Quote
markus1984 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Stunning! The complete MOC looks so great and your work on the snow landscape is fantastic! markus Quote
Loves Houses Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Wow! As usual - the best houses for 'Loves Houses' to be found in the Historic Topic How did you do the icicles? Coloring and overall wintry feeling are super. And the part underneath the stairs is beautiful. Quote
ElCrab Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Great work on the snow and icicles! Impressive. Quote
Steph 104th Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Wonderful Moc, all the snot used to create the snow is awesome. The icicles are spectacular and the cottage itself is amazing Quote
Zepher Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 What an absolutely lovely MOC. The white is an awesome background color - obviously it is the freshly fallen snow, which is beautiful on its own, but it also serves to make the landscape a little surreal which makes the whole thing just a little bit more magical. The way that it coats everything (the roof is a beautiful example, along with the "white trees") sets a wonderful mood. Love the icicles too, and the dark blue is a nice color to off-set it with. Really stand-out work. Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Great work, especially with the snow banks, makes me wish I were in the Northern Hemisphere about now! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Looks spectacular, especially the snow. I feel the winter season is sorely underutilized in Castle builds; which is clearly rectified with this build! Quote
mrcp6d Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I missed the "mittens" on the blonde girl the first couple times I looked at this MOC--GREAT idea! Quote
Regenerate builder Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Very convincing snow. Great job. Quote
Adolfo Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 What a beautiful snow scene! The blue color choice is great and that white slopes on the ground is awesome. Congrats! Quote
Niku Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Stunning and fabulous moc, I like a lot the house, but the snow is even better. Quote
Dzoni90 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Beautiful MOC! I like that sand blue addition to the LBG rock base and the snow is Quote
ApophisV Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Beautiful! Bravo! Having tried some snowy landscaping myself a few weeks ago and must say I'm really impressed by yours, especially those pine (?) trees look so amazing! Quote
ArchitectureFan Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Extremely beautiful. And sooo much snow!!! Quote
Garmadon Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Very nice house, great job on the color-scheme on the build Great work with all the snow as well! Quote
Blufiji Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 It captures the theme of winter/frozen north perfectly! Quote
