Kumata Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (apologies for any mistakes made in posting) A Lego 'Pannier Tank' steam engine of my own design, and a GWR-style coal truck too. I tried my best to build something that both looked as realistic as possible AND was compatible with regular Lego train systems (hence the low buffers to match the height of other trains' couplings, and tall cab to allow minifigs to stand inside). Being a huge fan of steam railways this is my favourite thing I have ever built. Oh and that number '1' on the sides means that this is the first of many. Long-term I plan to build an entire Lego railway layout but for now I'm having fun trying to create specific types of engines and rolling stock. Quote
garethjellis Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Again, a very nice 6 wide Pannier tank. have you motorized your Class 8 and Pannier? Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Very nice steam locomotive and beautiful wagon too! Quote
Dread Pirate Rob Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Great use of curves on the tanks! Quote
Kumata Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Again, a very nice 6 wide Pannier tank. have you motorized your Class 8 and Pannier? Nope, and I don't plan to. Perhaps unusually for a train fan I have no interest in motorising my trains. Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I like this. You've managed to capture all the character of the prototype. Well done. --Tony Quote
