I really liked this costume choice for a WW minifig because I don’t ever recall seeing it done as an action figure. There’s a uniqueness to it. That said for the first wave of DC minifigs I’d prefer some more common or traditional looks

Lego would never reveal anything re: the turnaround time the general rule was always 6 months to a year for new product to hit the shelves but I assumed with Lego it would be different but then again maybe not if new tooling is needed for specific accessories

So if this wave is scheduled for a Jan 2020 release then everyone has already been decided upon. Guess now we just wait for that one headpiece or torso print to leak : ) TheBrickbuilder14 thank you for the link. I can easily see us getting that Kingdom Come Superman. Even Imaginext made one.

I’m just curious about the differences between choosing characters for an action figure line and choosing 16 minifigs. Is there the “mandatory” inclusion of a Superman or Batman? 76055 gave us Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang and Katana. 76053 gave us Harley Quinn and Deadshot. The fact that the inclusion of these characters in their comic book costumes coincided with the 2016 release of Suicide Squad couldn’t have been a coincidence. Comic action figure lines generally have someone, hopefully the brand manager, who is a fanboy with ideas of which characters they’d like to see made. TLC never struck me as having that sort of person(s) on staff but I could be completely wrong about that ( I hope I am). Back when the first wave of Batman sets were being produced TLC reached out to the fan community for input. I was a member of a site called Legions of Gotham and a member was invited to meet with them to share ideas. I’m sure that DC/Warner has a short list of who they want promoted. Hopefully it includes a Flash ( Jay Garrick or Impulse) another GL ( Kyle Rayner or Guy Gardener would be my best guess, the Ron Weasley hairpiece from years ago would be so perfect) a classic silver age Aquaman, Jon Kent Superboy, Dr. Fate, Plastic Man, Martian Manhunter, Silver Age Hawkman, Booster Gold, Adam Strange, Stargirl. I’ll stop now.

Anyone know what the time frame is from conception to creation of a minifig? How far in advance do they plan character line up and design. In addition what is DC/ Warner’s role as licensor in the selection and final approval?

A Jimmy Olson with a camera would be great and would fit the bill of a throwback generic character for City AFOLs

That swamp thing is terrific! Better than I imagined I too think that this will be a DC centric wave not another TLBM one. They’ve had success with the Simpson’s and Disney. If they’ve paid for the DC license it only makes sense to get their money’s worth. I remember those DC comics with Lego minifigs from a few years back. They were done in a “serious” style and looked great.

A new Plastic man would be great but I’d really love a swamp thing done like the yeti minifig

I’d be surprised if the minifigs are Arrowverse based but there’s no reason why we can’t get them based on the COIE comic or any of the subsequent Crisis. More likely though I think they’ll be based on Rebirth as DC is set to return both the JSA and Legion of Superheroes to continuity. We’ve gotten Damian Wayne Robins so a Jon Kent Superboy isn’t beyond the realm of possibility as well as Young Justice. Anything comic related seems possible. I guess it depends on what is and isn’t included in their licence.

Couldn’t lurk anymore : ) The idea of a DC centric CMF wave is a dream come true! 2020 is an interesting year for DC. McFarlane and Spin master are picking up the boys toys licence from Mattel, who has had it for more than 15 years. Lego producing a line of DC minifigs fits right in with the new DC presence that we’re going to see in the toy aisles. IMO TLC has does right by DC fans thus far. Not counting SDCC exclusives or minifigs which were part of sets, they’ve given us a Wonder Woman in an outfit that she only wore for a brief period in her comic, a Cosmic Boy, a Superboy, a Lightning Lad, a transforming Clark Kent, Jessica Cruz GL, Sinestro Corps Batman, New 52/current look Martian Manhunter, Nightwing, The Trickster and... Batzarro ( they cant all be winners) I’m sure I’m forgetting someone. Basically we’ve already gotten “obscure” characters because they appeared in home videos. If they simply take characters from the video games I’ll be satisfied.
