42144 - Material Handler
Brick-a-brac replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Please consider that I wanted to give an overview of the set by focusing on the look of the waste handler. I don't have any information about how the inner structure is built, so I can't rebuild every single detail exactly 1:1. Like I did it with my stud.io version of the 42129 Zetros last year, I wanted to show you how the LEGO waste handler will approximately look like. In the video, I talk more about the individual sections of the waste handler and how accurate these sections are compared to the real version. I really want to emphasize that the proportions can slightly differ from the real waste handler (I guess around 1-3 studs, for example). Pictures in a "fever dream" aren't in 4K and it's hard to identify the length of every single technic beam ;) My comments on the different sections: - the claw: I tried to rebuild the claw as accurate as possible, the result is nearly 100% of what we will get on the final model. - the boom: the upper section is very close to the one I saw in my "fever dream", the main boom is a bit different, I used panels, the version on the final model will consist of technic beams. - the cabine: it is as close as I could get it in stud.io, just the black hose in my version will be a (5L long?) soft axle on the real waste handler. Additionally, the mechanism to raise the cabin should be the same as the one from the 42053 Volvo, that's why I didn't include it. - the main superstructure: since the cabin hides most of the interesting parts, I could only rebuild the cover at the back. - the chassis: might be a few studs longer or shorter and the building techniques will be different as well - but because this whole section is mostly black it's really hard to see which parts TLG used. Only the rear axle will have a steering mechanism. The outriggers might be identical with the ones from the 42108. The construction around the turntables will also be a bit different, but as far as I'm concerned, TLG used some technic frames as well. -
42146 - Liebherr LR13000

Just some thoughts: - Take the crane in the middle (version SDWB), but both the red and the blue boom have approximately the same length/height as the orange one. - TLG has used the big yellow ring that we already know from the 42055 for the turntable. -

You can expect at least 3 pneumatic cylinders, two of them are grey. It seems to me that the grey ones operate the boom and its extension and there should be a small yellow one for the claw. Please notice, that at the moment it is impossible to verify if this is even the final form of this set. It seems to be to expensive for its piece count (compared to the 42128) and the colour of the model could change as well (remember the white Zetros?). According to our latest information, 3 of 4 sets of the summer wave should be red (Ferrari, waste handler and Airbus H175) - what are the odds! Greetings :) -

42129 - 4x4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros
Brick-a-brac replied to dhc6twinotter's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A new picture of the 42129 and 42128 has been leaked on Instagram. It seems to come from a catalogue for sellers because there's the lettering "confidential" above the two models. -

I'd like to add a few more things I explained in german in the video: To me it seems that according to the pictures I got the doors can be opened. There won't be a teddy bear on the bumper but some sort of rubber duck. I decided to use the bear because there's no duck available in stud.io. If you have some questions don't hesitate to contact me :) -

No problem, that's something I have wondered about as well. Yes I totally agree to that, I kind of prefer the old front from the white-green 6x6 version, too. I'm not a 100% sure if the set includes black half bushes, since I can't look inside the model. Technically TLG could have also used a thin 1x2 liftarm. I have just rebuilt the overall shape as I could see it. -

1. Yes, TLG has used blue seats for many models but black ones are already included in the 42122 Jeep Wrangler for example. 2. And I can't get the blue gear out of my head as well. Unfortunately I can't see on the picture how it is linked to the drive train. This is the last major mystery. 3. If it's true that we will get new tires, a new motor and new parts (the modified liftarm with perpendicular holes in different sizes) it might explain the higher price compared to the 42114 Volvo. 1. Well I think the new front of the Zetros is a bit of a downgrade compared to the old one. Maybe TLG has changed it because it's already used in many MOCs, but that's just my guess. 2. I'm sorry I can't see that part good enough on the pictures. At first, I just discovered the 5x1 steering arm with the rounded tow ball socket on both axles and thought that must be an independent suspension, but while building the rear axle I realized that at least the rear axle must be a live axle. I really can't tell if the front axle is also a live axle because this part is so small on the picture that I can hardly see it. It seems to me, that the 5x1 steering arm on the front axle is connected with two pins to the chassis but I'm not that sure :/ Please consider, that not every detail on the final model might exactly look like how I built it in stud.io because some parts are to small and the background is dark while the model itself is grey and black - so some details are really hard to see. By the way, the Zetros will have windscreen wipers (even though there is no windscreen), but I just couldn't rebuild these. -

Hi guys! I have rebuilt the shape of the Zetros and the rear axle in stud.io and you can find the pictures in my new video: ALLE INFOS zum LEGO® Technic 42129 Mercedes-Benz ZETROS + erste BILDER zur LEGO® Neuheit 2021 [LEAK] - YouTube In the comment section you can find a pinned comment with an english summary about all the things I talked about in the video :) And we have got a new source: Promobricks. Last week I was invited to a livestream on their YouTube channel and there we talked about all the latest news concerning upcoming Lego sets and even about the Technic sets and the Zetros. And they claimed during the livestream that they know about the 4x4 version and even have seen some pictures of new Zetros! You can find the link to this livestream in the video description. I hope, I could help! -

One of my sources told me today that the prize of the Zetros has changed again. And that's good news, because according to her/him the model will cost 299€. Yippee! :) Edit: It seems to be true: a pricemark is always a snap-shot :) -

According to my source, it's more expensive than the comparable 42114 Volvo Articulated Hauler (nearly the same piece count, with licence, motorized). Nevertheless, this is the price my source told me two weeks ago. Of course, TLG could have changed the price in the meantime, or maybe will change it in the near future - it's always a snap-shot until the information is officially confirmed. And TLG even raised the price when a set is normally available (like they did with the 8043). -

B. was my expectation but now I'm really insecure due to the orange gear element next to the differential. I am going to ask my source for another picture from a different angle. -

Regarding official images, my source told me that it will take some time until we will get official images. It seems to her/him, that TLG doesn't give the Zetros top priority. -

you're welcome! Glad, I could help. I hope, that the wheel hub from the 42099 will be in more sets in the future, I need them for my 42070 MOC. But I guess they won't get cheaper, since the Zetros should cost about 330€-350€... :/
