    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

The Sanctum is super interesting to me as I'd been working on a MOC of a modular-compatible Sanctum until the rumours about this set started, and actually I can see the justification for a number of the design decisions: Having the building extend too far back on a 32x32 baseplate makes it lose a sense of height and feel too "fat": yes, the alley might seem like wasted space but it helps to maintain the sense of proportion and grandeur. I think this was the right call (and probably a necessity from a parts count / budget perspective too!) The left front corner of the building being missing I'd imagine is due to the modular-compatibility, both re connecting to others and maintaining enough of the front pavement / sidewalk. A decision I do find interesting is the choice to have four windows on the front. I did that in my first iteration, but thought it looked way too busy, particularly beside the other modulars. Moving to two wider bays of windows allowed for more detail and matched other modulars, and also -- to me at least! -- felt more Lego-y, even if it was a departure from how the building actually looks. I think there are opportunities for modding and improving some of the front facade of the building: I'm not sure about the tan window frames for example, and I really dislike the grills used as railings in front of them, but overall it's a really good model -- the illusion of four floors but only having three is super smart, and the interior is exquisite: I didn't even attempt to fit the staircase inside, am very impressed by that. Was delighted that they used the same upside down arch method that I'd chosen right below the main window too! I've popped some images of my MOC renders (forgive the black roof! Again though, I'd hope to remove the studs around the main circular window in the set...) in the tag below in case anyone is interested.

I'm just gonna say what we're all thinking: I'm disappointed we're not getting a minifig of Thor from the final scene of this trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go8nTmfrQd8 (I cannot work out how on earth to embed a video here, sorry!)

The double VIP points list (at least in Ireland!) has definitely been updated and now includes more sets, including the upcoming Mandalorian N1 set (although the double points aren't being applied for it correctly), so worth checking out if you were dismayed at the original lists. And for those in the UK / Ireland, Smyth's have a decent sale on quite a few sets which -- depending on how fussed you are about the Lars Homestead promo -- probably work out as better value overall than ordering from S@H.

I didn't see this posted, apologies if it's duplicate, but the full May the Fourth page has gone up in Ireland: https://www.lego.com/en-ie/page/star-wars-day-deals?icmp=HP-SHGB-Standard-SW_SWB_MT4_Teaser_Phase_HP-F-SW-CF4MNW1NH5 UCS Landspeeder VIP access from 1 May Lars Homestead free with €160 AT-ST polybag free with €40 Beskar keyring free with €70 All 1-8 May, along with unspecified sales and VIP rewards. Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

The Boutique Hotel appears to have gone on sale in AU / NZ without any GWP attached -- not even the keycard we saw leaked. Could that be for a specific region -- did we see the lid in more than one language?

Do we think a castle is in the box...? (Presumably a reveal in the next day or so?)

    Updating Your MCU Minifigures

Thanks for sharing this, they look so good side-by-side! I have a box on the way, I may need to keep one more Captain Carter than I was planning to :-P I know there's been a little bit of discussion in the 2021 thread about changes for the CMF characters, but as people begin to get their hands on them -- what changes are people planning to make? In particular for me, I think Sylvie's face needs to be swapped out...

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Seconded, so much of this film has been spoiled in this thread and it's basically turned into discussion of theoretical sets with very little evidence as to what they'll contain. I, for one, would appreciate it if people would err on the side of caution, and at least tag things that haven't appeared in the trailer / been confirmed publicly. It feels like it would be the most considerate thing for other members from my perspective.

    Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Bob Chapek (Disney CEO) just referred to Eternals as a 'fiscal 2022' movie on their earnings call, which some have taken to mean it's been delayed, but apparently Disney's financial year begins in October and so November is still very possible. Confusing though!

They're based in Ireland (as am I), and my understanding is that Irish (perhaps EU?) countries are obliged to collect VAT, which can then be claimed back by residents of the US / Canada through a couple of different systems here. That was my experience working in retail a few years ago, and I might be getting some details wrong, but I think that it might not be a fault of that store themselves. (Although clearly they shouldn't tell you that was covering prepaid import taxes if it wasn't, that just seems incorrect.) Also import duties are now an issue from Ireland to the UK (and vice versa) since Brexit kicked in earlier this year. Another option for Europeans is JB Spielwaren who are selling individual boxes (where Minifigure Maddness is only selling sets of two boxes as far as I can see). I've placed an order for a box with them and while this is my first time ordering a CMF box from them, they are very reputable and well known.

Ah fair enough re that speculation! Re the Shang-Chi sets -- Lego seems to have them listed as coming tomorrow, not today, at least in Ireland? Maybe all the August sets will drop in retailers tomorrow?
