PaulC Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 (edited) I have never been too happy with Uplink from the first batch Exo-Force sets. His leg articulation is not great and his arms always end up flopping all over the place. With the introduction of the new design for mini human mechs in Cyclone Defender and now Aero Booster, I thought Uplink needed redesigning along similar lines. I had to sacrifice two Uplinks and a Cyclone Defender, plus use a bunch of extra parts to get the effect I wanted. Here are the redesigned Uplink together with Cyclone Defender which I've tweaked a bit too. I tried to stay true to the Uplink design but add some extras - like armouring the back! I used the spare parts from my second Cyclone Defender to add rear armour to my first one. Strike a pose! I can't wait to get Aero Booster now to complete the set! Edited June 18, 2007 by PaulC Quote
Asuka Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 A very good and sturdy improvement, now it really looks like it could take (and give) a punch! The rear armor is also very useful, of course. It Quote
iamded Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Excellent! Great improvement, I hate the way Uplink's arms are always flopping around. This solves it all! Nice additions too, the back armour really makes it look better, and the levers in the cockpit are a good addition. Although I think Uplink V2's gun should have the trans orange pieces and Cyclone Defender's should have the yellow ones. Also, would you call it trans green or trans yellow? I just can't see the green. I know they use it in 'green' lightsabers. The real green is the one they used for gems in the old castle lego. In my opinion anyway. Quote
PaulC Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 I forgot to mention above that I also "borrowed" the code brick and shoulder joints from the Claw Crusher to finish off my Uplink Upgrade. That's four Quote
