jantjeuh Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Yeah, those (not so) subtle changes in colour shades are really annoying. TLG really dropped the ball on QA there (or maybe they don't care?). Quote
weavil Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Well that's from the small amount of solid color pellets added for the color not mixing well in the hopper before being fed to the molds. However, some color mixes have a specific temp range for production to maintain that color and with a long run of a part it can cause fluctuations in mold temps affecting the color. With dying a part, light color parts will be more open to a dye then dark color parts. You have to think of white as "absent of color" and black as "full of color". So a tan axle pin w/o friction will dye - it's a light color, a blue axle pin w/ friction will not - it's a dark. Shinny parts hardness keep it from being dyed. Quote
Richard Dower Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Yeah, those (not so) subtle changes in colour shades are really annoying. TLG really dropped the ball on QA there (or maybe they don't care?). It also happens with red beams....not such much with Black or LBG + DBG. Dunno why TLG cant make beams a consistent color?? I think the connector perpendicular in 2L was always matt and the 3L version smooth and shiny. Agreed....they 3L connector was always glossy and the 2L flat matt, i have bought brand new sets from 2005/2006/2007 and they all had glossy and flat matt connectors. Quote
