Graynar Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Hey guys, The final set of my custom Exo-Force theme is finally finished! You can also check out the first four sets HERE. Now then, onto the set. As usual, here's a fake LEGO set version: I would advise resizing the fake box art pic above, other wise it looks disorted which is not cool. *n* Here's the whole set. Check out the minifigs...I kind of invented a hero, hehe. Check Ja-Kia's description HERE. Here's the dropship, able to take 4 drones into battle. Check out a big description of the ship here. This is a cool Irone Drone machine, gives them the ability to fly. Check out the anti-air turret. Here's the defence tank, my favourite vehicle in this set. The GC (Golden City) defence tower. The turret can move up and down, while revolving. Check out the tower controls HERE. This is the mountain's secret control and armoury room. And of course, the accessories. And that's it for my last EF set. I hope you enjoyed it. I'm planning on make Castle sets next, but I was also hoping to make Pirates some time soon too, even though I have no Pirate ships to build from. PSPguy Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Nice. To bad your ending it. :'-) When are the fake castle sets coming out? Quote
Graynar Posted June 17, 2007 Author Posted June 17, 2007 Hey, I'll probably start the new line mid summer. Unfortunately, I'm going away for 3 weeks so that doesn't help much, and it wouldn't hurt to get some of the new castle sets first too. ;-) Quote
iamded Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 (edited) Oh dude, that is awesome. I love the dropship, excellent design, excellent colour scheme. Great design for all the weaponry, nice tank, nice anti-air mobile turret. Although I'd just like to say, the title 'Mobile Defence Tank' is already taken. Very clever interior of the hidden base, very clever. Great colour scheme for, well, everything! Nice hero, like a green Reaper! :-P And the drone flight device is pretty clever! 10/10 *y* *y* P.S. Looking forward to your Castle MOCs! Castle ON! :-P Edited June 17, 2007 by iamded Quote
john cleese Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Whats with the wings and scythe? Nice moc by the way Quote
JoeMI6 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Cleese, if you read it, you'd see that the wings are Ja-Kia's jet pack, and the scythe is his weapon. Another fantastic job Graynar. I especially like the Iron Drone Dropship. The design is very cool. Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Cleese, if you read it, you'd see that the wings are Ja-Kia's jet pack, and the scythe is his weapon. Another fantastic job Graynar. I especially like the Iron Drone Dropship. The design is very cool. I think he knew that :-P What he probably was wondering was why are there wings and a scythe? It does, afterall, kinda depart from the EF theme and feel slightly out of place. Besides that I think this is a great little set though. My favorite part is that "backpack" for the droid. As for the dropship I can't quite decide if I love it or not, but it REALLY stands out to me. Great work all around. Quote
Asuka Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I would like to see EF evolve in that direction, a little more variety beside the usual mecha output could work very fine for that line. *y* So I think that your set concept is indeed a very clever one, and all your MOCs within Quote
Graynar Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate them! :-) Starwars4J wrote: think he knew that What he probably was wondering was why are there wings and a scythe? I was just trying something differen't, and I always wanted to get a scythe into a mecha themed set. *y* BTW, the Castle theme is going to be a Rouge Knights one because I felt that the Rouge Knights needed to have some castles for their armies. And you'll defintly see Rouge Knights waging war against the Morcian armies. ;-) Quote
Guurahk101 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 More of the same, which is a good thing. The drop ship looks great, and wouldn't stand out in any Lego isle. I like the tank and mobile turrent, but I think the wheels would be different on a "real" set, designs are very nice though. I think the turrent/base is a little strange looking, but the "ugly rock peices" definately feel "Lego". Overall, exellent, and I think the scythe fits in well. Can't wait for the Rouge Knight sets. Logbo Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 (edited) I love the concept of this set. and realise that MOC are limited only by the amount of bricks we have available. Id give this set a 9/10 for overall creativity and design. and a 7/10 for build concept. here is my newbie critic breackdown. Dropship 9/10 awesome design colors work well. robots have never been fond of windshields so is perhaps remove that in favor of a more roll cage cockpit similar to Fire Fury. and add of a frount with weapons system to it. Again personal preference. Anti Air. 8/10 Gun is awesome looks great. base looks rushed though i cant think of a set up to make it cool in my head. i guess i dont see standard car tires and axle fitting well into EF Tank 5/10 rather than tank i think this should be called the cube of death. very square. however again the concept is very cool and the weapons are spot on. Base 8/10 I like this base alot. reminds me of a GLA stinger site in command and Conquer Generals. i would have liked to see the top platforms made bigger with the use of the 8x8 mesh plates like on the door of the Golden tower. i think this would add considerably to the overall feel of the *base* i like whats in your head and look forward to seeing more of your creations!!! have fun building!!! maiq the liar Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 (edited) Is Ja-kia fast? if so, i would reccomend re-naming him "Kaminari". for those of you who don't know japanese, it means "Lightning". i made a simple mech called "Kaminari-goro". that means "Lightning lord". Zaktan of the Shadows Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 This set looks awesome... if it were a real set! nice new character. I like the details and the gold and white peices bring the Golden city colors out. KUTGW! -ZotS Quote
DARKspawn Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Loving the dropship! Well done. I like the genuine playset feel you have going here. :-) Quote
Graynar Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 (edited) Thanks for the replies everyone! Guurahk101 wrote: Can't wait for the Rouge Knight sets. Me neither, but I'm leaving on vaction for 3 weeks tommorw, so I won't be able to make any new sets until I get back. *n* Logbo wrote: here is my newbie critic breackdown. Thanks for the sweet review. *y* The only thing I disagree with you is on the little "cube" tank. I actually really like that machine, probably because it looks better in person though. ;-) maiq the liar wrote: Is Ja-kia fast? if so, i would reccomend re-naming him "Kaminari".for those of you who don't know japanese, it means "Lightning". i made a simple mech called "Kaminari-goro". that means "Lightning lord". That's a great name! If LEGO ever produced this set they'd probably name him that. *y* Zaktan of the Shadows wrote: This set looks awesome... if it were a real set! nice new character. I only wish I had some more gold pieces to use other than some golden castle elements. :-/ DARKspawn wrote: I like the genuine playset feel you have going here. Thank you! I always wanted to make an action playset for the EF sets. I'm off on vacation now so I'll see you guys in 3 weeks. Edited June 24, 2007 by Graynar Quote
VBBN Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Lovin it! But, could you make mars mission sets? I'm not interested in Mars mission but I think that it would be interesting to see what you do. Quote

Afterall, my goal is to MOC as many themes as I can, so I might just try it. ;-) Quote
conductorjoe Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 It looks very cool! Nice design on the fake box and such. It seems to be missing actual humanoid robots though. Quote
