Starwars4J Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Well at least he has a chrome lightsaber...and that speeder is...*wub* The rest of it doesn't look so hot, and now I'm worried about the front part slipping off unintentionally since I down see a mechanism to secure it. meh, parts pack Quote
Big Pete Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 (edited) Check out this link looks like a much better model than we first though :) that speeder bike is a big improvement :D Edited June 16, 2007 by Big Pete Quote
sam89 Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 I agree that it looks better than we first thought. I love the printed pieces used. Quote
mutley777 Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Nice find TFBF :-) . I always liked the look of this set and now we have good pictures i am more that happy to part with my hard earned cash for it :-D . Quote
JoeMI6 Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 I'm not too happy with the size of it. It looks too out of scale really. Quote
The Kid Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 There's something different about that Maul fig that I can't quite put my finger on... Or my foot... In fact, any part of my body really... *wacko* TK Quote
Chuck Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 There's something different about that Maul fig that I can't quite put my finger on...Or my foot... In fact, any part of my body really... *wacko* TK I think it is the face. Quote
Two-Faced Batman Fan Posted June 16, 2007 Author Posted June 16, 2007 (edited) I think it is the face. To me it looks like the eyes are the problem, they look too big or something. :-/ compare: original maul new maul Edited June 16, 2007 by Two-Faced Batman Fan Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Hmm, It looks to me that the figure is altogether too bright. In color, I mean. It looks shiny, almost Jedi-ee. But the original looks more dark, more Sith-ee. I think the Infiltrator follows the idea of Grievous's Starfighter. It's breakable, grey, streamlined, and has lots of big bricks that have lots of stud-free smoothness. Quote
Khorne Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 To me it looks like the eyes are the problem, they look too big or something. :-/compare: original maul new maul On the old fig, the eyes are white with an orange/yellow pupil, but the new feg has yellow eyes with a black pupil. The old face is more detailed, so it's actually way cooler >:-) . Quote
Asuka Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Yep, better than expected indeed. At least a good starting point for MODing.... Quote
iamded Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Wow, I haven't seen this set before, the only Lego Sith Infiltrator I've seen is the original one. All studdy and what-not. This one's alright, although I don't like the way they use lots of big studless bricks. Although I like the way the speeder bike fits in the back. :-/ Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 INdeed many tks for the link ;-) I do agree that it looks better than we originally thought it would ;-) Still its way underscaled, but what the heck hehe The bike is sweet by=ut I really think its retarded for Maul to pilot the ship sitting on his bloody bike *wacko* X-D And I'm not really covinced by the spy droid space |-/ *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Wow mauls face sure is different, seems lego have removed the old sith eyes and gone for a far more friendly looking sith |-/ Even though the ship looks better than i first thought its still a big let down, if only TLC had made the ship bigger and sorted the wings out. If they had then we could of had a really great SI.... :'-( Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Wow mauls face sure is different, seems lego have removed the old sith eyes and gone for a far more friendly looking sith |-/ Are you sure its not the same head ? Hum, need comparison pics now hehe Even though the ship looks better than i first thought its still a big let down, if only TLC had made the ship bigger and sorted the wings out. If they had then we could of had a really great SI.... :'-( Indeed, but I think TLC is reserving this for a re-re-release with a soft plastic spiked Maul 8- Quote
Vader Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Yes the eyes look alot different from that pic, they lack the yellow and red that was on the first one. I would love a spiked head maul but after all this time i think thats doubtful. Quote
natelite Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I'm getting this mostly because I was missing the first darth maul mf. :-P and if there is one must have char from the prelude episodes, you know it's darth maul! If they make a special soft rubber hair mold, that's even better! Quote
mutley777 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 If they make a special soft rubber hair mold, that's even better! It wound have to be quite small or maul's head would look enormous :-D . Quote
simonwillems Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Thanks for the link to those pictures! I can not say that I like the model, it looks a bit cheap and <insert that tiresome argument> with those large pieces on the front end and the fold-out wings in the back. I have the original version and I have to say that while other sets (MTT Naboo fighter) might have improved in the re-release this set has taken a few steps (giant leaps) back on the improving scale. Where, by the way, are the Sith Probe Droids, in the old version depicted with black mf heads and antenna's? It looks smaller than the old version, am I right? Quote
Athos Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Blech... not interested. I hate all those wedge/smooth-slope pieces... Steve Quote
sam89 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Where, by the way, are the Sith Probe Droids, in the old version depicted with black mf heads and antenna's? They can be seen in this pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/UHAUHA/7663/7663-032.jpg Quote

Janus Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 You think it's worse than the original, simonwillems? I just don't understand...the old one looks like a semi-triangular piece of paper with a TIE Advanced stuck to the back. Would you mind elaborating? Quote
PSPguy Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I might get three cause Bricklink Mauls are waaaay overpriced and I always like having the option of glueing one of them and throwing it on teh ground. >:-) Might even try to make spikes. Still I can imagin better a brick-built probe droid. Quote
