Off the wall Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I was reading about the history of the Gateway Arch. Seems like it has great potential for the architecture series. Might be a bit repetitive as far as the build goes, but if Lego went big on it, the result would be quite impressive. Maybe our first 4000 piece architecture series set? I know several of y'all live in Missouri and some of you have brought this up before. The design, construction and history of the gateway arch is very interesting. Quote
Poisso3 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 At the St Louis Science Center, there is a Lego Gateway Arch on display right as you start to cross over to the road towards the planetarium. It was created by a Lego Designer and looks really awesome. I have often wondered why the Arch has not been made when buildings like the Space Needle have, but maybe one will come out eventually. Herky Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I have a bunch of pictures of it that I shared on the facebook Lego Architecture group page, but for some reason this site does not work with photobucket, Adam Reed Tucker built it, Tucker created this example of a Lego Arch with 3200 pieces and the center arch is 30 inches tall. here is a pic of it: http://ryanmarkel.com/5267/lego-gateway-arch/ Quote
