Another BrickLink Question - "Undetermined Type"?

I'm curious as to why such common parts like 1x2 tiles (design ID 3069) in all the colors I search for are listed as "Undetermined Type" and thus won't work in Wanted Lists when shopping?

I found this to be true on all of the 1x2, 2x2 and 2x4 tiles that I added to my list.

Does anyone have any comments, suggestions or solutions to this issue?

The most common tiles have a groove along the edge. My guess is that it has not always been that way, and some sellers might have the older part in inventory, or possibly it is mixed in with the grooved ones. My suggestion would be to not add the undetermined type to your want list, because far fewer of them fall into this category than the grooved ones of the same color. If you put the grooved one in your want list, you will be able to match it up with a lot more stores. This is of course assuming you are not after something other than the grooved type. BTW, the grooved edge is very small.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll look up the part numbers of the grooved tiles and try it that way.
